Excellent location for exploring Budapest. The Astoria tube station is below the hotel, and comes very handy for travelling around the city. The breakfast is excellent with good selections of food. The Astoria Cafe is a classy place with good food and excellent coffee and pastries. We loved the 19th century style, and the Cafe staff is mostly men in their finest age, providing professionalism, craftsmanship and long experience. Opposite to "young cool hipsters" you find everywhere else. These fine men create a cozy and nice atmosphere, please keep them :)

Fantastic location to be able to see Budapest with Metro, tram, and buses right outside. Beautiful hotel decor. Standard Double was a little dated/ small vs the images but honestly couldn't complain at all, our room was located on the side which was perfect and very quiet considering its location. Breakfast was nice, as someone with a dairy intolerance, i was really impressed there was soya milk on the buffet to help yourself to, honestly would stay again but maybe just upgrade to the newer rooms. Big Thanks though to the staff - both myself and my partner were unwell with a cold whilst staying and they let us keep the room until 4pm at no charge.

Hair on the bathroom floor behind the door when we arrived, the rest to be fair was clean, oh and the safe did not work. silly things which didn't really affect our stay.

This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint. I asked for a quiet room for my dad and that’s exactly what we got, and the rooms are very comfortable. The beds are very big! A friendly welcome and the housekeeping was done very punctually so if you wanted to come back to relax for the afternoon your room will be clean. The location is perfect, the Jewish quarter is on the doorstep with a brilliant selection of restaurants and bars, and there are at least two supermarkets in walking distance. I didn’t eat at the restaurant so I can’t comment on breakfast/dinner. Highly recommended.

The location of the hotel was very central and close to bus stops, trams and underground. We visited all the tourist attractions on both sides of the river and if it wasn't within walking distance we used the Buda Go App and it made travelling around the city so easy, The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and warm we had everything we needed. There was good choice for breakfast and their restaurant menu was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay in Budapest, its a fabulous city and if I ever was to return I would stay in the Astoria hotel again.

Loved the location and also the room was very quiet despite the central location. Staff were really nice and the room was immaculate clean and warm even if it is an old building. The bed was very comfy and had a mini balcony and plenty of light and fresh air. There is an aldi a few doors down and even a Tesco, the metro is right next to the hote. The hotel cafe is gorgeous and 100% recommended (did not have breakfast but would have loved to). I loved the building character and how they left everything as it is.

We did not have any toiletries such as mini toothbrushes, however this was not a big deal. There is not kettle or tea/coffee, maybe because of the building age. Lots of cafes nearby to be enjoyed though :) Would have been nice to have some bottles of water in the room on arrival but the aldi next door saved the day.

We traveled in January and the value was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful with good English. The station was close. The airport bus picked up and dropped off a few hundred meters from the hotel and is regular and cheap. You can reach the river by walking for 10 minutes. The hotel was classically styled and the standard room unexpectedly roomy and clean We were close to the lift but the room was sufficiently noise proofed that this wasn’t an issue at all for us. One demerit that no bottle water is provided in room (although tap water is reportedly sake to drink).

No bottle water. Lobby machine didn’t have any either. Some might think the hotel is a little dated. Breakfast €12 per head put us off going for a light breakfast (which is our usual choice).

The bed was comfortable, the shower was extremely good. Breakfast was also very good. The location was excellent -- walking distance to many interesting sights and areas, and located directly on a metro line. My room (a classic single) looked out onto an inner courtyard, which meant a boring view, but also meant very little traffic noise.

The floors were thin enough for me to hear the guy above me singing and dropping things on the floor (fortunately he was there only one night). Also, I seemed to be allergic to something in the room -- keeping the window open helped ease the symptoms.

Perfect location just opposite the Astoria bus stop from airport, also next door to mcdonalds and hundreds of shops. The staff are nice and helpful overall hotel is very old but historical the lifts are super quick and rooms very comfortable, cleaners come in everyday, change towels ect.

The room was very stuffy and extremely warm and opening the windows means listening to sirens and the main road throughout the night so perhaps looking at better air con may help. Unfortunately on one occasion about 2am the fire alarm went off which wasn't the nicest experience.

The room was very spacious, maybe a bit out-dated but I liked that about it, and we knew this before arriving. The location was amazing, right in the middle of everything but our room backed onto a quiet street! The staff were really lovely as well. Our favourite part was that you could enter the cafe without going out of the hotel, we didn’t have breakfast there but we really enjoyed having coffee and cake there a couple of times

Some of the facilities needing updating (the tissue box kept falling off for example), but all the main ones e.g. the shower I really liked so the smaller things didn’t bother me. It was all pretty decent considering the price

The location of the hotel is great, all the monuments and places to visit are nearby, so you don’t need to use the public transport. There is a metro station in front of the hotel. It’s a classic old hotel, that is keeping his history. We had breakfast included in our rate, a normal continental breakfast as served in other hotels. There is a restaurant inside the hotel. Near the hotel there are two markets, so in case if you need to buy something, like we were doing for our son, then this is not a problem.
