Very nice room, comfortable bed but pillows were too soft and I got a slight neck sprain. Room is big enough with a small balcony, which one can get out with city view. Breakfast was a good spread but would have preferred fresh juices. Made to order omelette was very nice. Good combination of breads. Excellent location. You can’t simply beat this hotel in terms of location. Access to public transportation is excellent since Astoria M is a major stop, shops and restaurants are all around, Danube is 15mts walk away, so is the Christmas market.

Housekeeping didn’t vacuum the room even once in my 5 days stay. The first day they shoved the dirt right below the wardrobe. There is a cobweb in the corner. The single sofa is dirty and unclean. They didn’t even make the bed properly.

The staff is so friendly and helpful, they were trying to help you and fix your requests immediately. The breakfast was so varied and delicious. I really appreciate the helpfulness of the staff.

I think toothbrush and toothpaste should be provided in a 4-star hotel, the cleaners should clean the room thoroughly (I found used chewing gums and crumbles behind curtains, and dusty table and chairs). The hotel needs renovation and to upholster sofa, armchairs, chairs.

Well. There's a lot to say, but in generally very good values for money, relatively large and very comfortable and clean rooms, great breakfast, awesome location - the entry to the metro is literally 10 feet from the hotel door. Definitely best choice for the city vacation

Can have a hard time finding parking around - so if you are with car, probably not the best choice, but hey, with metro, tram and buses stop near the hotel - why one would need a car? Ah, the only minor thing that could be better - the room cleaning staff - should probable wash the coffee cups and refill coffee and tea facailities along with making the bed and cleaning the room. But this is so minor, it could hard effect the my grade on the hotel

The Danubius Hotel Astoria City Centre Budapest is ideally located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore a variety of attractions within walking distance or a short metro ride. The metro stations Astoria and Ferenciek tere just steps away from the hotel. There are supermarkets, MacDonald’s and souvenir shops nearby. The Chain Bridge, Hungarian Parliament, and the bustling street Vaci utca (shopping) are all within walking distance. We stayed three nights at this hotel in October 2024. Front desk staff are very helpful. The check-in service was quick. There’s a beautiful gift shop behind the reception. The room was clean and spacious. We had comfortable beds. Towels changed daily. The breakfast was a buffet style and had a variety of choices. Overall, it was a nice stay for us.

Room was large and comfortable along with being clean. Breakfast was very continental but with sufficient choices to satisfy individuals, like everywhere, get there early and dont necessarily expect a full english. Location wise we were quite happy with where it was, close to an underground and a good walk into the tourist spots.

We tried to get a taxi and were told 10 minutes, after 10 minutes we were told it was cancelled and the new one would be 10 minutes and we lost money on a trip as we missed it, we will not rely on Uber either. We cancelled the taxi as Uber said it would be there in 6 minutes, then they cancelled and it was another 11-14 minutes before another would get to us. Not a good part of our break. That said, the two taxis we took the next day were excellent but the trust has gone.

We really enjoyed this historic building. The interior, finished down to the details, was amazingly beautiful. This hotel is not suitable for those who like modern architecture, smooth surfaces and no ornamentation. The location in the heart of the city brings in traffic and city sounds. Again - if you want something else, don't choose this hotel! We wore earplugs and slept very well! The hotel has very good transport links all over the city, including the airport bus (100E) stop about 50 meters away, in the direction of arrival. It is a 5-minute walk back to the airport bus stop. Hungarian State Opera is about 15 minutes of walk, Gellért Thermal Bath 20 minutes. Breakfast was served in an extremely beautiful hall. The coffee was very good and strong! The eggs were made as orderd. The beds in the hotel room (409) were exceptionally good - the mattresses were firm baut not too much. The blanket was big but not heavy. The pillows were of moderate size, 2 pieces. The room was clean and spacious.

This hotel is full of history and ground floor area's, lobby, restaurant and bar shows all the grandeur and Wiskes you back to the early 20th century. The hotel is in a great location next to the metro system so you can get around this fabulous city in minutes, but it's only a short walk to the river and other places of historical interest, and there is no shortages of restaurants and bars close by.

The only thing we didn't like was the bar closed at 11pm, but that ensures that you can get up early, so it may be a benefit anyway.

The property interior is amazing, we couldn't stop taking photos of it. While the building from outside looks average, the public areas - lobby, restaurants, etc. have a grandiose early 20th century look. The room was comfortable and despite the hotel being located on the main street, there was not much noise. Breakfasts were very good and served in a great-looking ambiance. Wifi was good and fast across the hotel. The location itself is perfect, just next to the metro station, numerous buses and trams and in the night airport bus 100E stops just downstairs. Finally, if you like walking the Danube banks and most of the Pest attractions are within 15 minutes of walk.

Excellent location for exploring Budapest. The Astoria tube station is below the hotel, and comes very handy for travelling around the city. The breakfast is excellent with good selections of food. The Astoria Cafe is a classy place with good food and excellent coffee and pastries. We loved the 19th century style, and the Cafe staff is mostly men in their finest age, providing professionalism, craftsmanship and long experience. Opposite to "young cool hipsters" you find everywhere else. These fine men create a cozy and nice atmosphere, please keep them :)
