Hotel Bara

Breakfast was good, but I would not like to eat those same things for more than 2-3 days. Transport to town center, Keleti rail station or nearest Subway station is excellent - hotel is located on the main thoroughfare with many and frequent busses. Use 24h ticket or family ticket. There are grocery stores nearby, several transport hubs walkable distance, you can walk to the castle or center of Buda.

Hotel was pretty good for the price (comparing to other hotels that Booking offered me) but nothing to be excited about. It looks like only a part of the hotel is operational . If you need just the room to sleep during visit and generic hotel bufet for breakfast (Instant coffee from machine, for example) it is a good choice. Hotel is obviously older, but well maintained.

It is not possible to find a better offer at this price. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and surprisingly large, and the breakfast was sufficiently plentiful. The car was safe in the parking garage. The location is great, only a 15-minute walk to downtown, or a 3-minute ride by city bus with a bus station located 100 meters from the hotel.

Hotel Bara is a little piece of history. You will feel the joy of being a communist hotel with the unmistakable vibe of a school trip when you were 15! AND this is not bad at all. Bara has nice parking so you don't worry about your car. The staff is nice, they extended our stay for an hour. You need to bring your own shampoo and washing gel, but you get a drier at the reception. Just ask for it. There's a gas station around the corner, it has anything you would need. The beds are nice and comfy, they gave us a 4-bed room for 3 people, so we had a lot of space. Transportation can get tricky, but JUST WALK and get a BOLT TAXI when coming back. LOCAL taxis will scam the euros, dollars, forints, whatever so easily. Oh and there's a bus...148 I think that is directly in front of Bara..sooo :D

If you get a room on the roadside, it is a bit loud. Luckily as I am POOR, I already can handle the traffic. IT IS MY LULLABY. BUT if you are bugged by passing cars, turn on the ac and close the windows or get some ear plugs. It's not so bad..but be alerted. But for this money...in Budapest..its a small price to pay. I mean you should already be super tired from all the walking and sightseeing.

Cheap, good location

The mattress was very bad in the room, no soundproofing on the door, so you hear others coming and going, slamming doors etc The breakfast is basic, not much variety. They used to have a 4 star area, but I don't know what happened to that, seems to be they only have this old school part running, which is really a budget accommodation for relatively cheap price

Most of all, I liked the breakfast: a wide variety for every taste (there are even Nestlé for kids). The location is extremely good (next to the supermarket and you can buy drinks on the way to the bus stop). As well, very friendly hotel staff that are always ready to help.

The location was perfect for me, a grocery nearby, not far from Gellert Hill. Breakfast was very good. Considering the price of booking I was surprised, a very good option to stay! thank you a lot!

I stayed only for one night, so didn't find any noticeable inconveniences. Lighting could be more warm/cozy, but that's a subjective opinion of course

Location and where for money, staff is also pretty good

Rooms in the hotel are not soundproof so you can hear everything in the hallways, and around tou. a bit of a problem when you sleep

The staff is very friendly. The breakfast quality is very good.

The breakfast is almost the same in thiese 3 days. Maybe just a little adjustment can improve the services. :)

The location was great, the staff was super nice, bathroom was clean, breakfast was nice.

The pillows could be better…

It's a budget hotel. You get more for the value of your money. If you have high expectations, chose another hotel.

Definitely needs improvement regarding the cleanliness. Although due to the high traffic of tourists it's understandable.
