temperature is centrally controlled , thermostat showed 28 Celsius but it felt 18-20. and even when we put higher nothing happened. front desk explained they control. so then what’s the point

The location was absolutely the best. The staff was terrific extremely helpful. Christopher on the front desk didn't Tire of answering questions

Just three things that I wasn't crazy about. One there was no rug on the floor which struck me as odd given the climate so maybe they're just in the midst of changing. And the second thing is that the bed was very Wiggly when you sharing it with somebody else and they turn over the whole bed Wiggles that's a pet peeve of mine otherwise it was a comfortable bed. Another pet peeve of mine is bathrooms where you have no counter space for toiletries

Excellent central location in the City, very good choice of restaurants and bars all within a short walk. Reception staff very helpful, room as described on the web-site, and very clean.

Breakfast was disappointing, the hotel was plainly very short staffed in the restaurant. The quality and choice of food was adequate, but it was taking too long for the food to be replenished at the buffet, and for clean cups etc to be brought to the drinks station. So it was all a bit chaotic, and a let down compared with the rest of the hotel. We may have been unlucky, this could have been because of the hotel workers strikes in Reykjavík, although we were advised that the Borg Hotel was not going to be effected during our stay there.

The room was fantastic very comfortable, warm & clean. Tea & coffee making facilities were present, much to my wife's delight 😁. The breakfast was awesome copious amounts of fruit juice, coffee, tea, continental, fruit bacon etc etc, if set up up for the day. Parking was available outside for just a few cars but this is a premium priced location. The staff assisted with directions to a nearby location which worked out cheaper. Parking was paid for with yhe Parka app, as per the staff on reception. A lovely hotel in a central location.

The only downside was the noisy nightlife, well it is central Reykjavik.

It's an artdeco architectural designed hotel close to everything in the city. I love the old framed photos. The rooms are well stocked with everything you need, including blackout curtains. The gym and spa are wonderful. There are so many wonderful restaurants nearby, and around the corner is a store opened 24/7. I didn't have the privilege of eating in the hotels restaurants because of timing. But it looked good. It is absolutely close to everything, shopping, restaurants, attractions, etc. If you are taking day tours, bus stop #3 is right around the corner. You can't go wrong staying here.

My only complaint is that there was no way to control the heat in my room, and it was way too warm for me. I would end up opening the window (in the middle of winter) to get fresh air and cool down the room.

Property is in a good location around the corner from central city bus stop #3 (easy walking distance). Front desk staff were very helpful in answering questions about where to eat, booking sightseeing tours, arranging for airport transportation, etc. Breakfast was not included in my rate (excellent buffet breakfast was 4,100 ISK/day). There are several restaurants, bars and shopping within easy walking distance. There is a 24-hour convenience market within a block of the hotel and a famous street hot dog stand is two blocks away. Short walk to the infamous Phallological Museum and simple to catch a city bus to visit Fly Over Iceland and/or the whale tour. My room was on the smaller side, as I was traveling solo, but nicely furnished, quiet and comfortable.

I can't think of anything I'd improve upon for this property.

Art deco design was really good, front desk staff were excellent. Location is second to none.

We found the Hotel didn't really want to service our room until we left. We are used to clean towels & bedding & vacuum every day. After we complained our bottom sheet was changed & we didn't bring it up with the hotel again. It is a very expensive Hotel & if guests want a full room service it should be done, we requested this on the hotels own form on arrival but it was not actioned

Direct bus from airport hotel using the special Grey Line bus company mini bus just 45 mins transfer at extra cost though. Stayed at this hotel 13 times now. Previously the restaurant was not the best although the décor is very good. This time the restaurant we discovered had improved considerably and now well worth a booking. The buffet was excellent and in fact would be hard to beat offering a large selection of fish , meat and vegetarian dishes to high standard. Breakfast was very good with a variety for all. The bar has improved with Andre providing an excellent cocktail service :). The restaurant manager most helpful. The Spa is very relaxing and staff willing to help with your enquiries.

The Borg has improved in the main area which required improvement and this was the restaurant area so well done. Our stay was delightful

The location was awesome. I didn’t care for the breakfast, but would be true regardless of the hotel. I prefer American breakfast items more so than local fare.

Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and the location. I found the local food delicious. The prices were exorbitant but that was expected. I would love to return to Iceland again some day but the expense will most likely prevent me from doing so.

Loved the location and the facilities. Comfortable, big bed. Good coffee machine (Nespresso), and nice size fridge. The front desk offered top services. Nice to have the small Spa area available.

To be a superior room I found it quite small, and part of the layout was not good, bathroom door - work station -closet doors - fridge, in the same, small corner, caused some frustration. Further I don not like the combined bathtub-shower. And one of the days there were several long dark hairs in the bathtub (I am a blonde).
