First was the location. Our bus from the airport dropped us off at Bus Stop #4 which was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This bus stop is also the one you will use for all of the tour shuttles you will probably book on your trip. For getting to the center of the city it was an easy 5-10 minute walk with restaurants, shops and popular points of interest. Second was the staff. Our only interaction with staff was when we checked in and out and when we had to ask a question mid-trip about scheduling our shuttle back to the airport. Everyone was warm and friendly and made us feel welcomed. Third and a very import one is the apartment. The apartment was very modern looking and in almost perfect condition. There was a touch screen panel that controlled the lighting and heating. You could also control both within each room using the switches. The kitchen had more than we needed as it was a short trip and we spent most of our time exploring and eating out. But if you are planning on cooking while you stay it has everything you could need. It all looked brand new. Gas stove and oven top, good size fridge and freezer (make sure you check the black book for mini bar prices.) pots and pans as well as all the plates and utensils you would need. The bed was very comfortable for my taste. Firm mattress, but you still felt like you were sleeping on a cloud. I thought there was plenty of closets if you need them. The bathroom was just as modern as the rest of the apartment. There was also a big balcony off the living room which was nice to step out on to get a breath of cold crisp air. But we didn't spend much time out there. Our room only had a view of the building next to it. In summary, this place was meant to be a place where we can sleep and get a couple of hours throughout the day in between different activities to rest and regroup. I would definitely stay here again when I visit next.

Lovely flat - great location and good in every respect. Helpful customer service - early check in, bottle of bubbly for a birthday etc.  Good handling of slightly unusual situation (not previously encountered on our travels) during our first night stay. So a 10 instead of usual maximum 9 that I would give.

excellent apartment with everything you need. all cutlery and tableware clean and seemingly brand new. lovely touches like ice in the freezer and tea coffee milk provided. spotlessly clean throughout. great powerful shower, plenty of towels plus flannels, robes and slippers. short walk to loads of things, excellent coffee shop and bakery right next door. lovely restaurants within metres. parking ideal, book place in advance. highly recommend sea baron just across the street for delicious soup and fresh fish,

Condition and cleanliness of the rooms, location, and in-room amenities. The front desk staff was terrific. Thank you, Manuela! Our apartment was on the 4th floor, and we could see the cathedral from our balcony. There was little street noise because of the direction we were facing, and there are no restaurants or bars right under the hotel. That was a major plus because the town center is busy and loud on the weekends, but thankfully, that is around the corner and two blocks away. We DELIGHTED in our stay and could not have asked for a better hotel stay.

I would advise guests to book directly with a taxi company for transport to/from the airport. There is a flat rate right of 16,000 kr. When we inquired at the front desk of the hotel, we were told it was 21,500 kr. Our tour guide had told us to make sure we get the standard rate, so we called the cab company directly, and they indicated the ride to the airport is a fixed rate of 16,000 kr. This minor incident of conflicting information did NOT detract from your visit. The hotel is truly a gem!

Very clean, large and modern apartment in the downtown area. A lot of attractions and restaurants in a walking distance. Nice reception staff and they show you the room. The room has a fully-stocked kitchen and ample places to sit down or spend time. The bathroom is nice. It's fairly quiet even though it's in the middle of the city.

Nothing major. We found struggling with the smart lighting system when there are 3 people and one sleeps in the living room. The parking garage space is limited, so we were lucky to find a good spot on the street (near the garage exit).

Everything!! From start to finish, the concierge went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our trip. We arrived a few hours earlier and they changed our allocated room so we could check in early! The room was perfect, VERY clean, under floor heating and modern. Every day when we were out, house keeping would come in and tidy around, change towels and make the beds etc.. which was a nice bonus. (We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment with balcony) Location was perfect. It's situated near the coast but only 10-15 minutes to the centre where all the main shops are. There were restaurants everywhere, even one right next door. We were only a couple minutes walk from the harbour where you could see the mountains every day and go on the Northern light yatch cruise. Will definitely be staying again! Thank you for making our stay memorable!

Amazing location right near the centre of reykjavik but still super quiet at night. We both had the best sleep we have had in a long time!! The room and balcony were both super spacious and perfect for relaxing with a coffee or glass of wine in the evening before dinner. The city centre as well as the Harbour area were just a stones throw away and made it so easy to get around and visit all the museums/shops etc with ease. 100% will stay at the black pearl again when we return to reykjavik!!

The only thing i can think of was that there was no air con and the room was quite warm all the time as the heat from other rooms etc rose up through the building. But this wasn't an issue as we had brought a small fan with us and also generally kept the balcony door open at night which cooled the room down just fine. Definitely not something to warrant not staying there again as was just a very minor thing that was easily resolved but if you do prefer a cooler room then we recommend bringing a small bedside table fan or seeing if the hotel can provide one.

Big, clean one-bedroom apartment for the two of us and our teenage son who slept on the sofa bed. Easy walking distance to downtown Reykjavik and all the shops and restaurants. Beds very comfortable and kitchen very well equipped. Expensive but we expected it considering the general prices in Iceland. Parking on site for €20 per day. Bakery next door where we got good breakfast bagels (tea and coffee provided by hotel for free).

Parking spaces were very tight, we had a huge Land Cruiser which wasn't ideal. The light switches in the apartment were very complicated. No space in the bathroom to put your things, considering it's an apartment for 4 people. There were curtains in the bedroom but there was just a wall behind, the only window faced directly onto the main street so we we kept the curtains closed. The windows in the living room gave onto the building next door, not very nice view. It is located on a busy street so expect some noise.

location was great, very central and everything around you is walkable from restaurants, musuems or the sea. the apartment is quite big and has a nice kitchen and other facilities.

temperature control in the room didn't work well for us, no matter what temperature you set it doesn't change inside (was too hot for us, but the reception provided a small AC to fix the issue) also the light controls arent the most convenient they over-complicate something simple.

Good location near the city center. Perfect apartment, clean and very well equipped. Fast internet and strong Wi-Fi signal. The hotel provides paid parking spaces, but I easily parked on the street near the hotel.

The price was quite high, but it was worth it. The hotel staff was unable to issue me an invoice for the accommodation. I needed it for my company accountant. I had to deal it with "booking.com". The girl at the reception during the checkout wasn't much helpful.
