I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect as I couldn’t find much on the property before booking but the price and location were unbeatable and we were just finishing up 7 days in a campervan around the ring road… so I took a chance. It totally paid off -this was a great find! It seems to be under new ownership with a recent upgrade and they did such a good job- very welcoming, clean and trendy environment with a super friendly staff and nice gathering space/lobby. The price and LOCATION were unbeatable, they allowed us to check in early (thanks again!) and it was super easy to catch the bus for an airport shuttle from the hotel (literally 2 min walk) - so glad to have stumbled upon this one!

location was amazing! with local cheap 24 hour parking right outside done via app!! was told hotel 2nd ever hotel in Iceland and they have kept some of the amazing old/chic features whilst modernising around the hotel! staff super friendly and hard working! plus amazing breakfast including at the stay which was no corners cut and could tell they was using local suppliers for quality.

The staff was very nice, welcoming and helpful. Checkin and checkout procedure was very smooth and trouble free. They provided recommendations for places to visit and things to try and also helped with tour reservations. The breakfast was good. They also provided coffee outside of breakfast hours on request. The room was small but nice and comfortable for one person. The hotel is located in walking distance to the harbour, the nearby attractions, and the shopping street.

The lighting in bathroom was low and dark. The room cleaning service was a little lacking and could be better. It sometimes looked like cleaning was hurriedly done or forgotten.

Everything was lovely and clean, the space felt comfortable and calm. Staff were excellent, very friendly and provided great recommendations (and even had my room ready early for me because I was arriving earlier than check-in). Location is great if you want to be just out of the hustle and bustle and enjoy something quieter/more relaxing, it was about a 10-15 minute walk to all of the main attractions, with a smaller strip less than 5 minutes away with a convenience store and some restaurants and bars.

Only downfall was the distance (30 minute walk) to bus stop 12, the bus stop where I had to be picked up for all of my day tours so if you are booking tours from this location I would recommend opting for a hotel pickup. This is no fault of the hotel but worth mentioning to future travellers.

The property was well located near all the main attractions and dining areas. It was clean and a decent size for a few nights. The breakfast was great with a good variety to start your day. The staff were amazing and went out of there way to help and gave good ideas for what to see and do. I missed the pick for my tour and the staff went over and beyond to help me sort it out and get me to my tour group the same day. It took over and hour of there time to sort it out for me and I can’t thank them enough. People were waiting but they dealt with them and still kept working on my dilemma. Thank you for a lovely stay

Staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make guests feel taken care of. Anna was especially helpful in rebooking my flybus to the airport, and helped me make the most out of my trip. Excellent breakfast, comfy clean rooms, very trendy location, make this a place I would come back to time and again. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Really can't think of anything bad at this place. It took me a minute to figure out how to open the window (you have to press down on the very tiny eraser sized button before turning the handle!). The elevator is a vintage from the 1960s and jumps a little when you hop on, but I hear it's a feature not a bug ;)

Very nice hotel freshly renovated close to the city centre of Reykjavik. There was also public parking space available w/o extra cost during night time. The breakfast also receives a big appreciation from our side due to its great variety. On top of this Alma does a marvellous job and serves all guests with perfect recommendations about Dos and Don‘ts. It’s actually worth to contact her with all your questions and via mail her response time is excellent.

The lift scared my wife a bit since it was made in the 60s. But don‘t worry it is perfectly serviced.

This is a recently refurbished new hotel in one of Reykjavik's oldest hotel buildings. It has both modern conveniences and some really ancient charm, like the elevator! The young staff was uniformly friendly, helpful and eager to please; and at slack times willing to fall into conversations with the guests about the city, tourism, the hotel, life in Iceland, their personal favourite restaurants. They find restaurant reservations; will summon a taxi, and navigate anything else where speaking Icelandic on the phone would make a difference. The breakfast buffet has a good but not large selection, and everything that should be fresh is very fresh. The location is only a hundred paces or so from the marker at the centre of Reykjavik; the old harbour tourist attractions are 10-20 minutes on foot; most of the other major tourist attractions are no more than half an hour on foot away. I would return here.

There were intermittent outages with the WiFi, although repairs were prompt. Some of the rooms are quite small, and the shower in my room was quite cramped. No desk/table and chair in the room, although I probably would have got one if I had asked. The new hotel has only been open a few weeks, and the staff is quite eager to hear complaints and suggestions for improvements and upgrades. At the moment, there is no TV.
