This was a family trip for three days in Chennai. So we stayed in Start City for two nights in three Studio rooms among the six of us in the family. From the start, it was a feel-good factor since Mr. Anupam, whose contact number was available on Booking.com, was the first one I called to confirm before reaching, and he was welcoming enough to say the rooms were all set and ready for our arrival. My request for a slightly early check-in was accommodated by the staff at the reception since there was availability to our luck. In my experience, I have seen a lot of hotels taking their own time and delaying the check-in and the admin/paperwork, but in Star City, Mr. Ganesh, who was receiving us, ensured to send the family to the room in parallel while he was taking all the documents and filling the needed details for the check-in. I appreciate that, especially since the family is always keen to get to the rooms while I finish up the paperwork and the payment-related things. The Rooms were Clean, Neat and tidy and the Bathrooms were in pristine condition. There is good space and furniture to hold the luggage for a couple of days' stay and even an excellent work-from-the-room setup. The location is another Key factor for Star City since since T-Nagar is one of the best shopping areas in Chennai and most of the places are within walkable distance from here. The courteous & polite staff are an asset to this hotel. Be it the folks in the reception, supervisors, Security, Valet parking and cleaning staff - all of them were smilingly helpful be it the need for water bottles to beat the support or cleaning or any other questions asked or support needed. Ganesh, Gautham, Lokesh, Venkat, and Mani are some of the names that I can remember, but there are more names I can't recollect that were friendly and accommodating. In all this team ensured we had a comfortable stay for 2 nights. I sure will stay here again.

The Wifi was a bit of an issue since it was either not connecting or dropping off, and the Mobile network was very low once we entered the rooms, especially since we were on the 2nd floor and there were 4-5 floors above us. But I guess these are tech problems/glitches as usual and not a people problem as such. Since it wasn't a work visit, it didn't matter. And in a way that helped the family to have more in-person conversations instead of starring at the phone ;)

Room was very large and comfortable. It was spotless and great value for money. I often struggle to sleep in hotel rooms but had a great nights sleep here. Staff were quite helpful with ordering ubers for us.

As an international tourist it would have been better to be warned in advance that we'd need our visas to check in as many places only ask for passport. The food was extremely expensive for what it was, so better to eat elsewhere. Had to ask for things to be replaced in the room like towels and toilet paper.

Spacious and comfortable room, nice furniture, big wardrobe. Coffee making facilities. Mini fridge. Staff are exceptional, especially Mr Gunesh who tries to solve all your issues quickly. Breakfast is okay ( payable at reception). Location is okay. A big thanks to housekeeping staff who daily transformed our hotel room asnew.

Warm water is not that warm. Internet network is not great and you need to reconnect every time. Breakfasts menu is more or less similar everyday.

Big, beautiful, and clean rooms, the hotel maintains the highest standards of hospitality. It is centrally located, on Bazullah Road, and almost all major tourist spots are nearby (<4km). Really nice neighbourhood. The staff is really polite and helpful, very professional.

It’d be great if they could add slippers and a safe to the rooms. Also, the cable TV should carry subscription to most English sports, movies, and entertainment channels.

The property after renovations looks fabulous for a budget hotel. Very comfortable and a caring, attentive staff. From Check in, to Housekeepers, to breakfast staff were all outstanding. They were just too good, caring, kind and attentive

Personnel was very kind and helpful. The room was very nice to stay in, and was cleaned every day. According to European standards!

On the second floor there is a strong smell of the bbq restaurant which is in the same building. But that was only on the hall way, not in the room itself.

Good value for the price. Good location.good helpful staff. Very Clean.no smell. No sound. Excellent shower and bathroom and bed. Decent spacious room.good ac.. safe and clean place for short stay.

Apartment type room ( like a 1 BHK) , a best option for a family ! Mr.Suresh ( GM) a kind person , voluntarily sorted out my obligations and kudos to him !

Nothing as such ! Breakfast menu is comparatively lesser but it’s not a complaint !

To be honest, I really like this hotel because very clean and worth for my money. Beside, it's located at strategic location where easy to get transport. I really like Pandan Club restaurant ❤️

Great service and they have an award winning restaurant, Tanpan Club with great foods and cocktails. Value for money.
