The decor, the ambiance and the behaviour of the hotel staff.

The dinner items were not properly named. For example 1) they were offering "Beef" in the name of "tenderloin" which means soft meat from the sides of any animal. They didn't mention it was beef and the most surprising of all was that, they were ignorant of the meaning of the word "tenderloin". 2) They were also offering some meat item as "Lal Mas" which means "Red meat" in Hindi. It didn't mention whether the meat was beef, pork, lamb or goat. These are absolutely not expected from Taj Hotel

Enjoyed the breakfast the most and a special shout out to Sous Chef Dayalan. Dinner in Southern Spice was also special and like to mention Sivakumar Asst Restaurant manager for his attention. Finally special kudos to Jasmin Siddiqui Guest Relations Manager who made the stay the best experience ever. Grateful to Soban Babu - floor housekeeper.

One unpleasant experience at the chinese restaurant at lunch. We invited my sister and we were comforting each other as our mother passed and we gad come from the USA for the funeral. There was a children’s b’day party but with totally ill mannered kids who were shouting, ran up and down the restaurant, totally disrespecful and rowdy not caring about all the other customers -and the manager and staff allowed it - had to walk out !

Fantastic experience, five stars and beyond. Everything works in the well-oiled machinery that is Taj Coromandel, all has been perfectly planned, from the scent of the lobby upon stepping in through the main doors, to the threadcount in the (excellent) bedlinen. The courteousness and attentiveness of the staff was a big part of the five star-experience. Smiles never seemed forced, and I felt welcome and at ease despite not being a ”typical” affluent guest and despite arriving with a backpack. The breakfast exceeded my (high) expectations - the black coffee was the real deal and the french toast was the best I’ve ever had. Everything is done to perfection here. I also visited the hotel’s spa, which was a five star-experience too.

- the service is as you’d expect from a Taj and after all its staff gives the place its soul. It’s better than in other 5 star hotels in Chennai, very polite, attention to detail and caring, quick - beds are great and with lots of bedding (not usually what I mention but here they are extra nice) - window sofas are great for a good view while having tea - pool area is neat and has great greenery in the heart of the city - great laundry service and complimentary for babies - breakfast buffet is compact but very good and the choices vary per day, staff going above and beyond to accommodate your requests

- standard rooms are run down and things are broken often, so for a 5 star hotel I’d expect more - front desk booking process could be more efficient to avoid several members of staff chasing you for the same thing

It was my first experience in this hotel and I was really amazed with the level of service that have started before my arrival. Mrs.Jasmin from the reservation department called us one night before arrival and has taken all requirements related to the rooms. When we arrive to the hotel as one family we were overwhelmed with the facility, the reception and the rooms. Everything was without fault perfect and international standards. With had children with us and special care was given to them by the rooms service, the reception, the cook, and even the security that have made the trip really enjoyable. We had an issue with our booking payment and Mrs. Jasmin cleared it all with no frustration. Well done the entire hotel management and team we really appreciate the solidarity, compassion, and level of service provided God bless and see again

It is clean, inviting and the ambience is excellent which made our stay extremely comfortable. Home away from home was the feeling we had. The staff members were warm and welcoming. Beginning at the reception - A special mention to Shreya who welcomed us at the reception with a genuine smile and John at the break fast lounge- Chef Dayalan who prepared a dish to suit my wife’s palate due to her lactose intolerance, Jaishri, Laxmi, Bala and Kuppusamy going over and above to make our stay comfortable. The smiling and friendly Neil Dsouza who checked us out making sure that our trip to the airport to the minute detail was taken care. A shout out to Taj for its exemplary services on the hotel industry.

It’s not about the property. Taj is about a way of life which starts as soon as you cross the door, from the concierge, the reception, the guest managers, the floor managers, the cleaning people , the restaurant staff. Everyone is there to make your stay as wonderful as can be. No request is impossible Especial thanks to Jasmin from guest relation who is the most beautiful and amazing person. Also thanks to Fatema from reception, Venkat and Saravaran from concierge. I fully recommend this palace to everyone busing Chennai. Nazrah R

Wonderful and beautiful experience. We stayed 5days and 4 nite in Taj Coromandel. Our 1st time here. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful and they take pride in providing us the best experience. As such, I would like to mention a few names, Kalpana (Reception), Jayan (Conceirge), Divagaran n Shoban (Floor service team), Chef Dayalan, John, Russel and Suresh (breakfast service team at buffet). They take pride in their service and went extra mile to ensure we had the best experience. The rooms are so comfortable and had the best sleep ever. Rooms are cleaned 2 times and they provide sun down service. If you need to be treated as Royalty, pls stay here at Taj Coromandel!

Location was a bit far from main shopping areas

the staff are very friendly, helpful and respectful, check in and check out were flawless and quick. Mr. Manikandan in the reception handled my process in both in and out, and he was very professional and keen to help with everything especially transportations to our destination. the restaurant is diverse and food is very good in both breakfast and lunch. room service is fantastic, they kept small gifts and nice gestures with every cleaning of the room.

honestly nothing major as everything was fine, but as a fan of coffee and not instant coffee, may be adding a coffee maker in the room would be nice.

From the reception, housekeeping to breakfast in the mornings, from location of the hotel, facilities and the awesome music at the bar, we don’t think the hotel has missed anything on how to take care of their guests. The warm friendly caring staff add to the charm. There are many that help in creating the atmosphere and here I would like to mention Kalpana, Suresh and Amit and a special shout out to the DJ who knew his music. I can’t mention everything here, so please visit Chennai and this property and experience it.
