Our stay at the Leela was superb! The food was of a consistently, extremely high quality especially the Indian and Chinese dishes. All the staff were very welcoming, happy and helpful, from the waiters and chefs to the receptionists and room cleaners. In particular we must praise the 2 pool attendees, Chandra and Kumar, who were exceptionally helpful, caring and friendly. They really took care of us and made our stay extra special. The only improvement would be to allow guests arriving on early flights to check in early without having to pay for half a day's room fee. The only daily direct flight from the UK is with British Airways which arrives at 5am. We arrived at the Leela at 7.30am and were so tired we just wanted to sleep. We were advised we would have to pay £126 to have our room if we wanted it before 10am. We would have happily paid £40-50 for these 2 and a half hours but not £126. Instead, we payed £17 each and had breakfast instead. It would be good to offer the early check-in at a reasonable rate if it is just 2-3 hours early and the guest is exhausted!

My stay at "Leela Palace Chennai" was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Pratyush went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was memorable. Their attention to detail and personalized approach truly made me feel like a valued guest. From arranging transportation to recommending local attractions, Pratyush was always there to assist with a smile. Their knowledge of the hotel and its amenities was impressive. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, Pratyush was quick to respond and provide helpful information. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. Not only did Pratyush excel in their role, but the entire staff at "Leela Palace Chennai" demonstrated exceptional service. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, everyone was attentive and eager to ensure a comfortable experience. The hotel itself boasts luxurious rooms, exquisite dining options, and top-notch facilities. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel's design and services is evident, creating a truly indulgent experience for guests. In conclusion, "Leela Palace Chennai" exceeded my expectations in every way, and the service provided by Pratyush was exceptional. Absolutely everything - the ambience, the sounds, the smells, the facilities, the spa. I’ve done a lot of travelling in the past but it’s the first time I’ve ever stayed in a hotel after going to Chennai for the last 30 years visiting family and I won’t bother staying anywhere else. It’s a hotel of the most impeccable standards. The gym is huge, the spa is world class and there are subtle touches throughout the hotel that make it superb - like international travel adaptors in the walls, packed lunches when you are leaving your stay etc and even the lifts are never busy even if the hotel is.

This has nothing to do with the hotel as such but the fact it’s a 5 star hotel means you will get some pretentious arrogant guests who think they can talk to the staff in any way they want. One person was giving the waitresses a ‘serve’ for the most minor issues of which then turned around and gave him a serve back. What I was hoping though was that the manager might stand up for his team rather than just cop that behaviour. I think it’s really important to support your staff as they are absolutely lovely and will bend over backwards to ensure guests are treated in the most amazing way! EVERYTHING.. Have stayed in many luxurious hotels but this one tops it off. Staff are a credit to the owners, so professional and polite and cant do enough for you. Too many to name. Food choice is incredible, location is superb as out of the city noise and in a quiet location, easy to get a Tuk Tuk waiting outside the hotel or hotel can arrange transport for you but at a much higher cost. Rooms a luxury and spotless clean, Outside gardens, pool area just so beautiful , hotel is constantly topped up with most beautiful flowers daily, it literally is a palace, I felt like a queen not a princess!

Nothing really but if I had one thing it would be more choice on the bar menu. We did'nt want to eat a big meal every night as the breakfast was so filling so we chose the bar menu however there was not much choice on this. The pool bar menu could have been served only if the chefs were not busy which they were, so we never got to choose from this but it was fine.

Mentioning the points which made Leela Chennai really stand out among other similar hotels we have experienced. Would love to visit again because of the below: - Uncomparable and fabulous hospitality. The staff are extremely polite and ready to help us with every small thing, ever ready to cater to our small whims with a smile, no matter if it is late in night or even if we called them multiple times. The behaviour and body language of the staff never ever gave a vibe that the ask was too much. - Awesome in-room dining team- Nilanjana who was extremely courteous and ever helpful to meet our demands of specific foods for our kid. Azhar and Ananth, who always had a smile, even if we asked them to deliver only a small spoon in the middle of the night. - The team near the pool- Mr Kumar was very helpful, always approachable and polite. - Our floor manager, Samrat who would always check on us very courteously, and arranged for a nice cake on our check out day. - The butter chicken at Jamavar - While overall food quality was brilliant in every restaurant and room dining, the butter chicken at Jamavar blew us away. One of the best we had, having tasted butter chicken all over India and Delhi. Kudos to sous chef Lokenath Manna. - The room itself - Aesthetically designed, large but very cosy rooms at this price point, large bathtub, absolutely silent room. Multiple pillow choices for our exact needs. Had a walk-in closet. - Overall hotel decor is very well done, large lobby area so not much noise despite a lot of guests about. The kid pool size is quite large and our daughter loved it.

- Would be nice to have a play area for kids, maybe some games, or even slides or swings. The pool did not have kids floatee, we had to carry our own. - Room pre- allocation could have been better. We had booked king bed but were initially alloted a twin. The team at reception did proactively realize the mistake and promptly alloted another room but it did not have the right view. We got our room on the third try.

The breakfast was superb .. everything and more ! Staff attentive and met all our needs I want to say a special thank you to the Duty Manager on the concierge desk Ms Shrima who went beyond her call of duty to help me with my parcel that kept going back and forth from the post office She told me not to worry and would go collect it healed if need be. True to her word she made arrangements for it to be picked up as it was getting close to us leaving. A big thank you Shrima 🙏

Had an issue with housekeeping as regards to our rooms being cleaned. They would come to clean as soon as we would walk into the room regardless of time. In the end had to complain

Excellent/outstanding stay, it was super clean, the staff were simply amazing, the facility is exceptional. one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The hospitality is next level, I cannot fault a single staff member who was not friendly or was a let down. A few staff to name. Priyanka at the restaurant was very thoughtful and considerate, Sourab at the restaurant was also very attentive and friendly. They actually made you feel so valued. Arshath (If I have got his name right) at the reception on night shifts was also amazing. Overall we checked into another 5 star hotel soon after Leela as it was closer to our requirements and the stay at Leela made the next stay well below the required mark. The breakfast is divine, it is extensive....The pool is huge and for the weather, you must take a dip and Kumar at the pool was also excellent to deal with.

The Leela palace is located on the beach side of Marina The hotels traditional blend with a modern vibe is the main attraction of this hotel.The evening traditional live music was heavenly .It's a beautiful experience to witness it. Each floor has a floor butler who was available 24x7 on whatsapp with you. Aman, who was the floor butler, was very proactive and very attentive that one needed to just post the requirement, and he would make sure it was made available. This system works so well that even if we were outside rhe whatsapp helps make sure our needs were being worked upon rather than us having to reach the room and call the reception or help desk and then wait. The happy hour had limited options of certain alchol with 1 plus one, whereas we had no such limit in our experience in Taj . The breakfast spread was very authentic and had lot of healthier version.The spread was laid out in a manner that one was not bumping into another. The staff in the restaurant was so proactive that they were making sure we didn't have to approach live counters.. The food was amazingly good and so far the best in terms of taste and variety. The room was moderately spacious when compared to Taj coramandel, which was very spacious. However, the bathroom was very spacious with separate units

While booking the room with booking.com I had booked for a deluxe sea view room , which I took for granted that I would be allotted the same. However, when we reached the reception, we were told that due to high occupancy, sea view rooms were not available, however, that he would look into the matter and Voilà! He made a sea view room available (We have heard about high occupancy in almost every hotel LOL!) Booking.com and Leela need to collaborate better so that customers don't reconsider options of going with them.

The hospitality at Leela palace Chennai is excellent. Right from the welcome, until we checked outback, everything was done to perfection and with at most care. Aman kumar was my butler and he went above and beyond to take great care of us. He was constantly checking with us on WhatsApp to help us with our needs. Whenever I am staying in Chennai, leela palace will be my go to place. I have never been so impressed with the hospitality of a hotel. Again, Aman is truly incredible in hosting guests.

There is really nothing you can complain about the property or hospitality. Just be slightly early for breakfast to avoid waiting for a table

The service was great.A little too smothering sometimes.Getting the balance between being attentive and over zealous,is difficult. There were some communication difficulties initially but that was soon resolved quickly.

There needs to be a clear and concise charges.The package prices need to be concise and clear. There is some maintenance that needs to be undertaken as there signs of wear.As a prestigious hotel I would think this would need to be rectified. Asking for an iron and ironing board didn’t seem right.One iron I asked for was damaged and caused a slight shock due to exposed cables. The meals were varied and tasty,however there was at times a long waiting times on selected food.Some of the food was Luke warm and on occasion cold.This was reported and rectified immediately.
