Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Letterkenny and close to Lurgybrack farm where we had been with the kids. Most amenities are close to hand or a short drive away. The staff in the restaurant (mcgettigan's) were amazing and couldn't have done enough for us. Plus the food was amazing. Breakfast was good - what you would expect. Good pool... Bit on the cold side but didn't deter the kids.

I thought the staff themselves were not very engaging. Although being renowned for a family hotel, the several signs reminding you that children should not do this or do that, was actually a big put off for me and the staff were quite stand offish and when my husband asked at reception why the iron hadn't been brought to our room (this is hotel policy... Irons are provided upon request) after 30 odd mins, making us late for dinner reservations, we were basically told, tough, you have to wait until the porter has time to do it. Like we would have lifted it ourselves. Not major complaints- nice hotel, good food, basic rooms (extremely warm and no AC- only a noisy fan which was no good with kids). Had its ups and downs.

Coffee pods, water and towels were replenished each day. Hotel was in an ideal location only a couple of minutes away from everything and there's a shop on both sides of the roads for any quick conveniences. Reception staff were also very nice to deal with. We didn't have food or drink in the restaurant or use any facilities so cannot comment on them. Would happily stay here again.

We had an issue with wifi on the day we arrived but it was rectified quickly. We also upgraded our room to an executive room because we were told a fridge was included but even on its highest setting it didn't do a great job of cooling things. Would've also been nice to be able to control the heating in the room as it got very warm at night. Otherwise no complaints.

Clean, stylish, welcoming location. Facilities were excellent. Large spacious room with a comfy bed. Bar and restaurant facilities were lovely as were the staff who served us. The cleaning staff were also lovely and helpful.

My only negative comment, the reception staff were cold and impersonal. One lady in particular could hardly summon a smile when asked a query. Not what you would expect when being greeted - either upon arrival and during the stay. When I left in my room keys not as much as a “how was it for you?”.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, lovely clean spacious bedroom with a big high comfy bed. Nice relaxing atmosphere in hotel. Wee mini fridge + a safe in bedroom. Good choice of foods for breakfast - cereals, fruits, hot breakfast.

WiFi not good at times - hotel + bar had seperate WiFi codes as well. No seperate shower.. Bedroom + bathroom were very very hot even when thermostat turned down. When we were in bar to have few drinks + food the service was at times poor, as customers waiting for ages to be served at bar + staff just seemed to ignore them. Bit noisy from heating at times, alot noise from other residents outside in corridor in early hrs of morning.

Breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Area clean, staff very friendly and professional, good choice of food. Bar - good environment ,reminded American sports bar. Staff overall very friendly, helpful. At dinner ordered sea food chowder - delicious. We have tried over 50 places for sure and tried sea food chowder. This one is ranked at our top 3. Sauna and steaming sauna - nice place to chill. But was very busy.

Dinner in restaurant. Ordered salad with chicken. Chicken was awful (does not taste fresh at all. Hard and the smell of it...). Restaurant it self could be refreshed, just atmosphere wasn't cozy. Strong smell of bleach, chlorine in swimming pool.

We stayed for mid term break for 3 nights. Siobhan on reception was amazing she helped us with everything the needed.. very polite aanf very friendly a credit to the Clanree. Also Catherine on reception who was amazing when we called from our room, thank you. Food was amazing especially steak night Tues.. Antonette in the restaurant is always friendly and very welcoming. See you all at Easter as we have changed our stay from in town to the Clanree and booked 2 rooms. Looking forward to visiting the Clanree again soon.

The rooms were new and spacious, and the hall looked impressive. Food at the pub onsite was delicious and the front desk was helpful when we needed them (booking taxis, etc). The bed was incredibly comfortable. Friendly staff, very happy with this stay.

Leisure centre times, we did not get to use the pool/sauna which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel (closed after 6’30 apparently, we were told that was after 7’30). The room was quite hot too.

Food was lovely. Good selection both for dinner and breakfast. Leisure facilities great and very pleasant staff there.

Bed huge and very comfortable. There were a few repaires that need attention.in our room, in bathroom the handrail in shower/bath wqs loose and unreliable., Headboard beside bed with wall sockets came away from the wall when umplugging my charger. Although paid in cash and in full when checking in, was advised on checking out we had an outstanding bill . This was caused due to errorr when checking in, as the computer was notr updated to showt payment had been made and in cash. This caused, a few minutes of an avoidably embarrassing moment for us as guests. Om the whole lovely hotel, food great needed taxis to get into town from hotel.

I liked how the staff listened to me, when I explained that the room was two hot, and I didn't think we could sleep in the room. The weather was extremely hot and there was no air conditioning. They dealt with my issue quickly and promptly and gave me a suitable room at the front of the hotel. Excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. The leisure staff were also very good.

Staff very friendly and helpful . I requested a walk in shower and they kindly did accommodate me. I have limited mobility at the present Also had a fantastic relaxing facial in Serene Wellness definitely would recommend. Overall it was a lovely relaxing stay Thank you Clanree Team

Room was very hot no air con or fan... window in room latch broken,anybody could easily climb out on to roof area could potentially cause a accident.
