Lovely hotel and well located in a quiet street. Junior suite was extremely comfortable and the extra space in the living room was great for chilling out. Brilliant shower. Great evening meal and breakfast had decent, flexible choice which was well cooked. Cocktails were expertly made and were a pleasure to drink. The staff were fantastic. Particularly Kaysi and Stephanie on reception, who gave us great advice on things to do, where to eat and drink and were so nice to talk to. We had a brilliant time in Derry, which is a great place to visit. Undoubtedly, Bishop's Gate hotel and its staff made a huge contribution to our enjoyment. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Nothing really.

This hotel is amazing. Our room was amazing. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. The staff were amazing. This is one of the best hotel experiences I've had in many years. We stayed for three nights, bed & breakast. On the second night, I hosted a very special dinner for friends in a private room. The food, the service and the atmos was all perfect. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, within the actual city walls. Everything in this beautiful historic city is within walking distance. There are loads of great bars to go to but the hotel bar is great too - they've got a very tempting cocktail list. If you are staying in Derry, stay at Bishops Gate Hotel. You won't regret it. It's ... amazing!
nothing. Nada. Rien. Zilch.

Had breakfast every morning of our stay was wonderful! Was meant to get married in bishops gate but pandemic hit so sadly couldn't!! Been staying as often as possible in this beautiful hotel when ever we get over since then! I really don't think I would stop anywhere else now and we've booked a good few places over the years!! Bishop Gate hotel is my happy place!! Staff are wonderful and they make you feel like your the only people in the hotel they have to look after!!. I would recommend to everyone!

Location was perfect, close to city centre for all amenities. The hotel is cosy but inviting with a busy bar/restaurant and friendly atmosphere all round. The hotel’s secret is the staff, we met Kaysi at reception who couldn’t do enough and Patrick who helped us to our room and parked our car. Mya looked after us for dinner and we felt our stay was one we want to repeat another time. Even checking out with Laura we felt we’d come back again. The restaurant food was amazing, higher end results with great presentation led us to talk to friends and family for a return visit. (Keep the chef at all costs). Not one for leaving reviews generally I felt we couldn’t leave this one out. If you are visiting the Walled City then I recommend staying here, you won’t regret it.
Bishop’s Gate hotel hit every note - nothing to report here.

Top notch staff, friendly, accommodating and very cheerful. Michael provided a layout of the things to see and do around the town while Gary saved us with our car and luggage. The room was spacious and the windows open out in front. It was nice to have the ability to open them for some fresh air. I appreciated the heated towel rack that warmed the small bathroom! The Wig & Gown was a cozy place in the hotel to grab an early breakfast or late night cocktail.
The bed is a little harder than we have experienced in other hotels. The bathroom and shower are a little cramped however this is to be expected with the age of the hotel.

Great staff, spacious room, good dining facilities and restaurant overall. Reception staff were very professional and helpful. Great location. Like the style of the hotel combined with the tradition/old world charm. Fresh flowers in the hallways was a very nice touch.
The staff training in the restaurant on the night we dined could be a little better. A bottle of wine ordered did not arrive. Then we reminded a member of staff we saw a second bottle had been added to our bill which had to be removed. Also, less intrusive attention. We had lovely staff ask us quite a lot of times during our meal "did we want something else?" Also, for a Blue Book standard, I would expect a small minibar in my room.

I didnt stay in the hotel, I ended up in one of their nicely-furnished basement apartment across the street. My fault of course, I didnt read the small-print or details before booking. The apartment was very nice but it is completely removed from the Bishops Gate Hotel experience which is what I wanted and why I paid the high price I did. If I had wanted a standalone basement apartment I could've found one elsewhere for a cheaper price. The apartment was very comfortable of course, and my brief interaction with the professional reception staff at the hotel was pleasant. I'll just know to pay more attention in future and ensure I book one of the bedrooms that are actually in this highly regarded hotel. Thanks Stephen

The food was well presented and on the whole beautifully cooked, and the staff were very attentive. and could not have been more helpful. The newly acquired block of five apartments across the street from the hotel were in excellent condition with enough room for a family of four (1 double + 1 twin) and with sel;f-catering facilities. The location of both the hotel and the apartments is within the walls of the old city of Derry/Londonderry and is well placed for many of the sites of historical interest.
The only criticism I would have was that I had to report twice that the radiator in one of bedrooms of the apartment in which we were staying was not working, which meant that the room itself was cold compared with the rest of the apartment. Although after the second time someone across from the hotel and managed to get it working by raising the temperature on the main thermostat for the whole apartment when we returned after being out for the evening, it had stopped working again while rest of the rerst of the apartment like a sauna, and was still not working when we left.

It's a solid good quality hotel, with a nice bar and dining room area, a modest foyer and good bedrooms. Slightly old fashioned in a good way, in the sense that it was all very well kept and maintained and the staff were all very professional and attentive. Both the breakfast food and my evening meal were very good. The staff deserve a special mention, particularly the main Receptionist of the day, she provided a very friendly welcome, gave me lots of information, ordered me taxis, remembered my name and generally provided a great deal of help to make my stay comfortable.

Loved the ambience & quirkiness of the hotel itself, and the valet parking was a godsend as it was raining very heavily when we arrived, & the staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The food both evening meal & breakfast were amazing & the festive cocktails were fantastic & reasonably priced, recommend the Rum Rum Rudolf. Music in the wig bar from 10 pm was 1st class. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
