The B & B was easy to find wih plenty of on-street parking right outside and just a short walk to the city walls and the city centre. Jim could not have been a more welcoming and helpful host. He waited in later than advertised as our flight was slightly delayed and then gave us a great rundown of the best places to visit in the city. He let us know all about the beat pubs for music of different kinds and where the best (and most affordable places to eat were (including the fantastic Castle Street Social and the sadly packed Silver Street.) The breakfasts were tremendous. I had the full Fry and didn't need anything elae until the end of the day. Highly recommended.

This B & B is just minutes from the heart of all you want to see in Derry. Our host, Jim, was very nice and gave us lots of information of things to see/do, and points of interest, as well as places on where to get a good meal for dinner. The room, though very compact was comfortable and very clean, as was the en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was cooked to order in the morning, and there were a variety of options.

It would have been nice to have a place to relax in the B & B, but there were no open common areas, and the room was just not conducive to much more than sleeping. Also, the bed was up against the wall, which makes it a challenge for the person on the inside to get up in the middle of the night if necessary. Nothing we have not dealt with before, and certainly nothing that would prevent me from recommending this location. We would definitely stay here again.

The B & B is a small terraced house on a main road, but free parking was easy outside. The room was also small, but comfortable and with all the amenities promised. And it's only a fifteen minute walk to the city centre. But the best thing about the stay was Jim, the owner and manager. He was very personable, helpful and knowledgable of the history (and geography) of Derry, and actually taught me more about the Troubles than I had learned at the time as a teenager in England, or since. Derry itself turned out to be a very interesting and attractive city, which frankly surprised me. Murals and memorials also explain the history, as does the magnificent City Hall. Jim had given us a map and indicated where the best sites, bars and restaurants were, and also he cooked a fab breakfast in the morning. We would definitely stay again.

Nothing we didn't like.

A friend booked this bnb as we were coming to Derry to attend a local restaurant. The location was on Bishops gate street just outside the walls. It was great value and about a ten minute walk from the restaurant. The bnb was clean and had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We were asked what time we wanted breakfast and this was freshly cooked on the morning by Jim (who had broken his arm) and ably assisted by Francis. Both were friendly and helpful. There was also cereal, fruit and yoghurt and fresh toast if you didn't want a cooked breakfast

Jim, the owner, was really friendly and his knowledge of the city was great in helping me figure out what to see in the city and the surrounding areas. He cooked a darn good Irish breakfast too. The property was only a few hundred metres from the famous Wall of Derry, so was ideal for getting to see the city on foot.

The street the property’s located in seemed full of parked cars. However, I was lucky in that the two times I had to park near to the property, I got parked right outside the front gate.

The new owner Jim had just taken over the B&B then had a bad fall and hurt his elbow needing to have it surgically pinned so some of the things that he wanted to update wasn't achievable but the rooms had everything we could need the bed was extremely comfortable the breakfast was great plenty of it and hot and the 2 ladies were friendly and helpful really enjoyed our stay and will be back

The shower base needed a bit of attention but the water was hot and the flow excellent

Had a 1 night stay in this B&B which is perfectly situated a 10 minute walk away from Guildhall in the center of Derry. Parking was easy (on street) and Kieran (our host) welcomed us and provided loads of information about where to eat - what to see etc etc. We were the last to book so unfortunately had a small room but it was adequate. The bathroom was very small and I had to sit sideways on the loo. That aside, we thought the location, hospitality, price and fantastic breakfast compensated for any small niggles and I would highly recommend Bishops Gate B&B for a short stay in Derry.

The bedroom and bathroom were small - particularly the bathroom.

Firstly, i must mention the hosts, we arrived before 11am and check in wasn’t until 2, we contacted the hosts and they allowed us to come in and get access to the room, they had to just finish off the room for us, then allowed us to get in for sleep due to early flights. Nicely decorated and in an ideal location just outside derry’s walls at the bishops gate, few shops and a bakery nearby also. Breakfast was top notch too, and again, hosts left you to eat breakfast and didn’t disturb you while eating, but after that, came and chatted to us and gave good advice and tips of things to do in derry, I will definitely book there again

When we arrived we were met by Ciarán, who greeted us warmly and gave us a map of Derry city. He marked recommended places for food and drinks. The house is spotlessly clean and bright and lovely. The bed was really comfortable and we slept so well. Breakfast was freshly made and was wonderful. We had a choice, Ulster fry or continental. We had the fry, it was delicious! There was a table in the dining room with pastries, individual boxes of different cereals, water, orange juice and fruit. Choice of tea or coffee. Freshly made toast. Staff here are lovely. Really friendly and helpful.

The coffee. I hate instant coffee!

Traditional B&B located just outside the walled town center. Free parking on the street, we always found a spot within the same block. Sweet and nicely decorated bedroom. Tasty Irish breakfast is served in the morning. The landlord was happy to share stories of his growing up in Derry.

The bathroom is tiny, you can barely turn around, there's no Wifi. Walls are thin, so we could hear our neighbors, but it didn't bother us. No staff on-site outside breakfast time.
