I loved the room and the staff at check in and departure were very nice. I would certainly recommend it to my friends but I would point out the couple of things that we were dissatisfied with and more than likely I would advise them to skip breakfast.

I hadn't breakfast booked originally but once I saw the hotel etc., I decided to book it. it cost me 50euro extra but I didn't mind. However, i was disappointed with the breakfast, in that I expected more from a luxurious hotel. I had my 11 yr old son with me and the lids of the Le Cruest were extremely heavy. I was also so disappointed with the choice, again I was expecting a little more for example: to order items off a menu but alas this was not the case. When we returned to the Hotel just after 11 from a family funeral we were unable to have a night cap even though i was under the impression that the residents would be able to get a drink up to 12 or 12.30. It's not a huge deal but i just felt it would have been lovely just to sit down and unwind after the evening.

Spectacular views of the golf course & beach, especially on a sunny day like today! I had a large room with those fab views! V comfy, massive bed! V clean. Room 242 on the ground floor....staff are friendly & helpful....I would have loved to have stayed longer!

Small things: queue to check out was v large & only one poor girl on at the time! My room's shower gel dispenser was broken... My normal woe at hotels unfortunately, I'm a size 18/20 & I was delighted to see two bathrobes....but not a HOPE of closing!! Same with small bath towels....bigger items please...even slim people like to be wrapped in cosy, oversized towels & bathrobes!!

This has to be one of my favourite hotels from the minute you enter the hotel until you leave it’s a seamless experience. The breakfast experience is genuinely the greatest start to your day with big welcoming staff and the ambiance is just beautiful. The room I had was large and had a door onto the roof with views over the sea. I ate in the hotel 4 nights in a row, so that should speak volumes. And the gentleman at reception (Tiago) was a great front of house representative first thing in the morning with a smile and a happy gesture to you before starting my day. The bar was always full of pleasant people with good food. I honestly couldn’t fault this place at all.

The room was ideal and the beds very comfortable. Being beside the beach is stunning and the facilities are designed and kept to a superb standard. I will stay again.

With the breakfast. The food and setting was perfect. However, there appeared to not be enough staff, so they were having difficulties, greeting, clearing tables, serving coffee etc as well as one waitress was extremely flustered and even running back & forth. It could've been a bad day though it was not handled in a way one would expect and I would view this as a management issue that should be easily rectified so as no accidents happen aswell as effecting the experience.

Location and facilities were absolutely fantastic. As the rate wasn't exactly cheap, it really should have included breakfast though. The mark-up on the breakfast would have been a bit much to be honest.

That breakfast wasn't included in what wasn't a cheap overnight rate.

Room was a nice size and comfortable. Bar/restaurants were nice and food was excellent. Staff was always nice and helpful, especially Brian, the concierge - super attentive, always greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed anything. The property grounds were beautiful, from what we could see (stormy/rainy for our entire 1-night stay).

Shower could use a refresh. It's quite small making it almost impossible to shave your legs in the shower. Additionally, the water pooled at your feet in the shower. If it was a shower/tub combo, it'd be better to shave your legs. FYI - one of the room number directional signs on floor 1 was incorrect. There was a sign that said 137 - 252, but there isn't a 252 on that floor, it stops at around 152 (maybe a typo?).

Massage was amazing and they made time for me

I thought the breakfast was supposed to be included however they changed me even after saying it was covered Also They dinner at the restaurant after waiting an hour and confirming that time with the hostess before sitting I still was not served dinner, and I had a meeting that I had to get to. They were well aware of this prior to me, even being sat. So I had to eat my meal at 1030 at night. Instead of seven p m when I got done with my meeting that they had put in my room, and it was completely cold with no microwaves in the room. So I spent well over a hundred dollars, so we're going dinner and breakfast that was on a, I'll expected or didn't meet expectations

Seaview rooms excellent with beatiful vista. location is close to sea with path to beach very accessible. Golfers would enjoy, but non golfers who enjoy walking on a fabulous beach and being within a short 15 drive of Malahide or Howth, will enjoy this less busy location. The midweek costs are reasonable for this standard of hotel. Reception and bar staff so very friendly and professional. Very good car parking facilities with hotel supplying exit ticket during checkout. A lovely quiet relaxing stay as always. will return soon.

A private short walkway from the front of the hotel or back of hotel to the beach would be an absolute bonus although the narrow public path is only 5 minutes from the back of the hotel.

Pretty much everything. The food was fabulous at each facility. The staff were friendly and efficient. Check in was a breeze. Trails around the property led to the beach easily. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

So the amenities in the bathroom were weak at best! The supplied bottles of soap, shampoo were locked into the holders and the pump to use the product barely pumped and virtually didn't dispense anything. CHANGE the way to use the products!!! The golf course should provide an early morning tee time discount as well as a twilight rate! Would have had to pay full guest fee and would not have been able to finish the round! Maybe a nine hole rate. The guest fee rate wasn't that much of a discount considering what we paid for the delux room.

Literally everything. from our first late night arrival and pub meal, to the front desk helpful staff, to the rooms and the excellent accommodation when we wanted to add a night to our stay after Ryan Air lost my luggage.... to much much more!!! specifically; when our travel plans changed radically and we needed to leave luggage in Ireland for 4 nights as we went to other countries, the Portmarnock graciously held our bags. the only downside was when we returned to get them in the middle of the night from Croatia..we though we'd spend another night there and the SWIFTIES had taken over the place..and we would soon find out: most of Dublin! but i will blame Taylor and not the Portmarnock for that. The Portmarnock tribunals like home to us and it a place our family will fondly recall and hopefully return to. the spa was DIVINE, massage amazing. i chose the Portmar (as we lovingly call it now) so my son could play golf there. Sadly he had to leave the trip early and did not get to play. We shall return. can't wait. thanks Portmar☘️❤️🇮🇹
