Staff were super friendly, check-in/check-out were seamless. Ample parking. Room was very clean. Location was great, tucked a little off the main road so traffic sounds were not an issue. Didn't try the pool, but the pool area looked very clean.

Parking lot could use a little more lighting, but there were plenty of spaces.

Room was very clean. Josh and Manuel from Housekeeping/Maintenance were AWESOME. There were some furnishings missing from my room, as per the listing details I'd received, and they quickly took care of it and were appropriately apologetic and very pleasant.

Missing desk lamp and reading chair. Lobby and elevator looked a little grungy but there was a sign saying renovations were taking place so it was probably related.

The recent renovations to the Valhalla hotel definitely exceeded my expectations as the room interior was similar to 5-star hotels that I’ve stayed in before. I was so pleasantly surprised and really impressed by it. I also really liked the restaurant/bar, it was excellent! Airport shuttle service was excellent, punctual and very useful if you’re traveling by plane. Really enjoyed my stay!

Dog friendly! We stayed here 2 nights in a span of 2 weeks. We didn’t stay long at the hotel (arrived late and left very early). We drove from Toronto and this was a nice rest stop after a 15hr drive. Felt very safe, properly is clean and newly renovated. There are cheaper hotels but this place is worth it!

First night we came and I was told the room I booked (1 king bed- courtyard) was fully booked and because I had a dog with me there were no other rooms expect for 2 queen bed… which I did not want at all! This issue was resolved as they upgraded me to a 1 king bed drive up suite which is much appreciated and very convenient for moving luggage in the room!

The property was undergoing renovations at the time. but you’d never know it. They did a nice job of isolating any areas that were being renovated. My room was clean and spacious and the shuttle was wonderful. Actually, it was the shuttle that first drew me to the property when I was searching. The parking is in a safe area in front of the hotel. The shuttle is every half an hour from the airport which is less than five minutes away. The staff was also lovely. As I was boarding the shuttle I was informed that my flight would be a day late. I went back inside and immediately was able to book another room. The staff is personable friendly and even though they were busy, they had friendly attitudes and were most helpful and letting me know things I could do during my “extended “stay. I will absolutely stay at this property again when in the area. I wish that Air Canada was as organized and thoughtful as this hotel.And the restaurant on site had lovely fish and chips.

No carpet room and king bed.

Not clean behind the sofa. Kids in the pool scream no body is watching. Pillow to soft. No.pamflet for restaurant. Main level they say you can park in frknt of your room but someone can take your spot. It should be reserve for the client to choose tbe room. Maybe put no parking in some parking or put orange cone.

Thunder Bay hotels are generally more expensive than most in other cities, likely because it's a busy central hub for the north. Valhalla is in the same price range as the other hotels. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are pretty big, free airport shuttle, close to the airport...

The staff are friendly enough, but most seem uninterested.

Room decor was beautifully finished with ample space and the heated pool feels SO great! Great bang for the buck!

There was a question I had asked the front desk and the person had the attitude of "that's a dumb question" written in their body language. But it was only one outnof the handful I crossed paths with during the stay, and I realize sometimes people have bad days.

Well designed rooms, which were comfortable and spacious. Hotel has a heated indoor pool. Has a good restaurant. Close to the airport and there is a shuttle if required. This hotel is safe inside and out.

Service was slow at front desk when we checked in. Two afternoon phone calls not answered when we called hotel from the city after checking in. The bar/restaurant area needs upholstery repairs. It looks like they are doing renovations in some areas.

I had a nice room. It was very comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast (not included) is buffet only but it was quite a nice spread.

The restaurant isn’t great. The dinner menu is limited and not very fancy - mostly a kid-style menu. My dinner was good but I’m pretty sure it was a frozen hamburger. There weren’t enough staff on at breakfast and the waitress was not very cheerful and never came back to offer a refill of tea. She was too busy and too stressed out.
