Reception staff very attentive and helpful. The room was a little dark and I felt claustrophobic in it. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size with a good, strong rain shower. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection but was, at times, chaotic due to bad layout and not enough staff. Maria who served us, however, kept her cool and looked after us as vest she could, always with a lovely smile and pleasant, cheerful manner. The location was very central in the lower town of Bergamo with parking offered at 10 Euros per night.

It would have been nice to have an outside seating area in the courtyard. The breakfast seating area was rather cramped and chaotic.

The staff were amazing. Arianna and Antonio from reception were great. Arianna was fab with her superb recommendations (Mimi restaurant is the best!), and for arranging our to-go breakfast and taxi for our early departure. Our room has a small kitchenette with fridge which where I obviously store my gelato and water :) it was incredibly hot so the air-conditioning was lovely. Btw, we got lost initially but perhaps it's because of the heat and looking mindlessly at the nice streets of Bergamo. Location of this hotel is spot on. A few minutes walk toward bus stop for number 6 and 1. The shops, park, and restaurant were lovely and safe. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back here. Grazie!

WiFi wasn't stable. It takes time for it to get internet then it was slow then loses its connectivity. We weren't really bothered as we were out all day and just use it at night (we stayed 2 nights). I told this to the reception so they can fix it for future guests. Perhaps a coffee/end table to place the kettle? I feel we don't have enough surface space to place our food with the kettle and wifi on the dining table. Unfortunately on the last night, the people upstairs were stomping their feet and can hear them. Not a big deal for me but can be for light sleepers. Also, do note if you arrive after 9am, whatever left by guests is what you have to eat as they don't refill the food so be there early! The staff were kind but we had trouble understanding each other.

Good communication with Irene, my messages were answered promptly with clear instructions. The room was large, clean, comfy and had good facilities, TV, kettle with tea/coffee and a fridge. The bathroom was nice and modern. Card entry system into the hotel and room.... easy access both to get in and out. A 10 minute walk to the " funicolare" to get to Citta' Alta....... 15 walk to Bergamo station. Breakfast is not offered ..... but there are some rooms with a kitchenette. Compared to the hotel where I had just previously stayed, I thought this place offered very good VFM. I would be more than happy to return.

The ladies were very friendly and helpful and I certainly didn't have any issues .... but 'reception' isn't always staffed.

Excellent location, friendly staff, really nice room. Quiet and clean, it was a lovely stay. I stayed two separate days as I was travelling in and out from Bergamo and I had two different rooms. The first one was amazing, it had original old paintings on the ceiling and it was a really big size with a kitchenette. The second room was a bit smaller but still very nice with ceiling windows. Both of them were clean and new. I was very happy with each of them. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast could offer a bit more options but nothing major. All there was was nice enough.

The location in the center is great, just between the old town and the more active part of Bergamo. The stuff very friendly and helpful. We had a window in the ceiling, it would be great to have inform before we booking the room.

The room is quite new, renovated but some of the furniture is already broken inside : shower, the one above your head does not work . The bed and pillows are really hard, but maybe it’s just a preference. Communication is not the best.No one was answering the door and I was waiting about 20 minutes on the street .

La Castellana was in a perfect location. I arrived late so they provided me a detailed video I could put on my phone so I could enter the building and get to my room. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was wonderful. They even made fresh baked apple strudel! And.. The room was so big. Nice.

I could not figure out how to get the AC to work but did not need it. The room was comfortable.

Location was perfect, 10 min walk to train station and bus stops. Big and comfortable room, modern design. We stayed for 4 nights in the suite on the first floor and the view from our window was great as well. The lady who checked us in was so lovely, I was happy to hear her English was great and it was easy to communicate. self check out as well which was perfect for us as we left at 1am.

the lady who we encountered when we arrived (before check in time) didn’t speak English which we understood and we tried to communicate through Google translate but when we got there around 2 pm(I repeat, not check in time,we just wanted to chill for an hour in the lounge or outside in the garden) she told us she doesn’t like that. we felt that came up rude, maybe we we’re tired as well after a long flight and interpreted wrong but besides this first encounter everything was perfect.

Very glamorous room! Would be nice for honeymooners. Fridge and kitchenette was handy. Good breakfast, pleasant staff and in a quiet, upmarket location with plenty of local amenities.

The only thing I didn't like was that there were no windows apart from a skylight. It wasn't dingy however. Struggled a bit with finding the hotel and then getting in after hours, despite the comprehensive video detailing how to get in.

The hotel is perfectly located - walking distance to Citta Alta, bus and train station. As I came by plane, the bus station of airport transfer bus is just 5 minutes to walk from the hotel. Also, I had a late flight, there was no problem to check-in later. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean, spacious and with all needed facilities. Numerous cafes, restaurant, supermarkets are just around the hotel. Thank you for the stay! I will stay there the next time again :)

Good security for the building and room The bed, particularly the canopy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Receptionist had very good English. Ground floor room, no stairs! Location, about halfway between the railway station and the upper city. This is a nice quiet neighbourhood with plenty of small cafes nearby.

No microwave but this is more a hotel than an apartment, though it does have a small kitchen- double hotplate, fridge, kettle, sink, cutlery, plates and bowls etc.
