The place is right in the heart of the city but yet in the quiet street. It’s in a very close proximity to all main attractions and just minutes by foot to many restaurants and bars. The place has tons of character. It’s located in the historical building but the rooms are fully renovated. Our room looked exactly like in the photos of the listing. It was spacious and sparkling clean, had AC and very comfortable double bed. There is also a shared modern kitchen to use. Angelo is a fantastic host who was always there to help us. We can’t recommend this place enough!

Angelo greeted us with a smile, took time to explain and was attentive to our needs. We would warmly recommend Palazzo Speciale to anyone coming to Catania. The location is very close to everything interesting in town, good restaurants too.

Angelo is the perfect host! Always helpful, and makes a great breakfast too! Thsi B&B is located only two minutes from Catania's famous fish market, yet our (very spacious) room was very quiet.

We only stayed one night but we loved the place and our host so much that we would definitely recommend it and stay here if we visit Catania again. The owner was super friendly, helpful and responsive even late night and early morning when we had a flight emergency we needed his help with (he helped us late at night and got up at 5 to let us out). The b&b is in an amazing palazzo next to the fish market so in the most central location, the rooms are renovated with authentic art deco furniture and great attention to details which we really appreciated. They provided coffee, water, theres a common kitchen area with all the facilities and appliances you might need. Our room looked to a lovely back yard which meant it was quiet (important with a baby) despite catania streets being quite busy during the night.

The owner provides parking in the building for an extra fee which is the safest and closest option however they need to have the car keys which can become a problem if you need the car quickly, just something to consider. Also, as we were travelling with a toddler we required a third bed which they were not able to provide, even though we booked the room and paid for 3 people. Upon request they suggested to arrange a baby cot only for an additional fee. However I am pretty certain this was a one-time issue and if we stayed longer they would have made the arrangements we needed, so all in all we weren't dissatisfied despite this minor inconvenience.

The apartment is located very near to the market square and the pedestrian zone of Catania. It is beautifully furnisched with art nouveau items, spacious and comfortable. Angelo, the host, speaks really good English, which facilitates not only talks on organisational issues but also some nice, social chatting! There is a shared kitchen to prepare tea, coffee or a simple meal and - a real extra on the island where you shouldn't drink tap water - a filter connected directly to the tap, so you can fill up your bottles and generally, all drinks taste better! We stayed there for one night only but really enjoyed it!

Like all tourists from north of the Alps, we would have loved the cover/blanket to be in a normal duvet, not wrapped in a sheet-sandwich (even though it is "typically mediterranean"...)

Perfect location, near the amazing fish market, main square and all the hot tourist spots. The host was extremely helpful, kind and caring. Gave great tips where to eat, where to go etc. The room was spacious, spot on clean, big comfortable bed. Breakfast was great, a bit of everything :)

Perfect location to discover Catania, within walking distance from the city center, bus and train stations. Angelo is very helpful, kind, and attentive host. We could ask him any question we had and he helped us immediately. The breakfast was varied and very tasty (it was agreed with Angelo the day before what we would like to have for breakfast on the following day). We are 100% satisfied, so whenever we return to Catania, we will again book in this b&b. Fully recommended.

The place is located on 2 minutes walk from the bus terminal where all the buses stop and depart to the beaches and airport. The room is very spacious and had everything you need. It is very quiet compared to other places in Catania. There were toys for our kid, crib and high chair. It is very clean and the host was super nice and helpful. I can only recommend this place.

There are stairs to enter the room which is not very convenient for a baby stroller but not a big deal

Angelo was a gem of information and very kind and accomodating. Impressive old Palazzo. He is working hard to make it a dream for all who stay there.

Shower was both hot and cold, bed could have been more firm. A bit of a sag in center but still slept well. The allley where you enter is daunting with debris etc. but once you enter it is charming and welcoming. Walking distance to everything you could want. I would recommend it.

Great location to spend a couple of days exploring Catania. Big big rooms in a nice historic building close to the fish market and all surrounding restaurants and bars. Angelo is a great host. Always available, always ready to help with anything. Our room was spotlessly clean.

Not much to fault at all. Shower was a slight bit temperamental but that was a very minor thing.
