My wife Christine and I have always wanted to visit Lucca and this property was on our list after reading other peoples reviews and we were not disappointed. We were made welcome by Francesco and Giovanna into their family home, a beautiful old villa full of charm and lovingly cared for. The exceptional breakfast of so many choices was a lovely surprise, all served to us in the lovely garden room.

There is nothing to dislike about the property.

Cozy small city hotel (B&B) beautifully decorated and in a great location to explore the city. 5 minutes walk to the old town. Nice rooms with well equipped bathrooms, large terrace overlooking the garden. Very good quality of the bed linen and towers, we slept really well and were able to relax and enjoy the typical Tuscany feeling the hotel offers. Great breakfast in the winter garden of the house, nicely presented and served. Extremely nice and helpful owners who take great care of all your needs. Lovely place I would highly recommend.

Everything was great!

Location perfect, just outside the walls and short walk to station. A beautiful property with a lovely owner Giovanna, who was very friendly and helpful. My room was perfect, overlooking the garden. The bed was very comfortable, with beautiful linen. Large bathroom with really good shower, toiletries and luxurious towels. Breakfast amazing!, eggs, fruit, ham, yogurt and bread/pastries etc. I stayed 5 nights but wish it had been longer, will definitely stay again when back in Lucca.

This is my second visit to Al Porto do Lucca. I returned with another friend and found our home for 3 days. Francesco and Giovanna were just wonderful as before. They are a delightful couple who enjoy their guests also. All types of meats and cheeses for breakfast and terrific scrambled eggs and cheese. You will be pleased. I love this property… so comfortable and lovely antiques to view.

Nothing to dislike!!

Al Porto di Lucca is a gem and I wish I would’ve allotted more time for Lucca. I grossly underestimated, to my disservice. First off this location cannot be beat. There’s parking onsite, it’s easy to find, places to eat nearby. It’s a short walk over a pedestrian bridge through the gates of the city and into the center of town which I will get to later.. the house is a nobleman’s manor decorated in Naval motive which was cool considering I’m prior USCG. So there are all kinds of old painting of sea battles and tall ships and men in uniform. My wife loved the chandeliers in the room, the large walk in shower, and the super comfy bed and pillows (pretty rare in our experience on this trip). Breakfast was superb and served overlooking a surprisingly big garden for the middle of town. The host was kind and let us keep the car parked for a short time after checkout to allow us to allow us to explore the city a little more before we had to hit the road again. I want this house it’s georgeous! Now Lucca, we stayed in 10 cities in Italy over 3 weeks, visited countless, and even though we only stayed here one night Lucca was our favorite. Lucca has everything, history, landscape, shopping, expats, restaurants… and not overrun! We were blown away. Just the wall around the city makes you wonder how many shovels it took build.. massive! Do yourself a favor come in the spring, enjoy the flowers, cool air and lack of crowd it’s god country. You may even forget to visit Florence or Pisa which is right nextdoor… Next time I think I’ll spend two weeks here!

That I only booked one night. But that’s my own stupid fault I should’ve known better..

The villa is beautiful, very authentic Italian. Our room was spacious, clean and so comfortable. I never slept better on a vacation then here. The bathroom was also very clean and I thing recently renovated, like the shower, sink and toilet, which was a good thing. The delicious breakfast was in a beautifully decorated room where you have a view on the garden. The villa is on a great location. It's nearby the old city of Lucca and also the trainstation. They also have a private parking space right beside their villa, which we used. Overall a great experience!

Hard to come up with something, since everything was great, but the stay would maybe be even better if we could navigate the airco by ourselves and if there was a litte fridge in our room for cold drinks. For the rest everything was perfect!

An elegant home wonderfully located close to Lucca city walls, & even closer to the train station (but you don’t hear trains at all). It made our travels easy & enjoyable. We were able to leave our bags at the Villa after check out, while we made a last, quick visit to town before leaving Lucca. The shower & bathroom were spacious and beautiful. Gorgeous bed linen & towels. Breakfast was lovely. We felt very well cared for!

we drove to lucca and the property has some parking spots which was great. the property is very well located for walking access into the walled town. the closest access point does require you to climb a set of railway bridge stairs each way. the property had terrific bath towels, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. the hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

The location is excellent for walking into the walled city with its many bars restaurants, also very close to the train station which gives easy access to Florence and Pisa. The breakfast is a little different to most but was very nice with table service by loverly staff. Our room was very spacious with a large walk in shower with separate Wc and wash basin.

Great location, with easy access to the old city. Our host was very responsive and helpful when our trains to our next stop were suddenly cancelled due to a national train strike. He helped us arrange for bus tickets and even walked with us to the bus stop to ensure we had no issues.
