Breakfasts were very good, rooms were quiet and had plenty of space with very good bathrooms. The staff gave us better rooms than we had booked so that one of our party needn’t use steps to the attic room. We were offered a take away breakfast as we were leaving early.

I prefer bottled water not from the tap on the breakfast table. The fridge in my room was noisy but the owner switched off as soon as I asked. The lighting was too low for old eyes.

Excellent central location in the historic town. Claudio and his team were very welcoming and friendly. A good continental breakfast was available. Extremely comfortable bed in a decent sized room. Daily housekeeping was excellent. Overall very good value.

15 minute delay in obtaining access on first arrival. Some issues one day with water pressure in the bathroom. Not a problem for me - but beware the steep, open tread stairs to the attic rooms. As the name suggests the attic rooms are at the top of the house with sloping roofs - could be an issue for taller people (say over 175cm, 5ft 10 in).

I liked the location and the look of the hotel. Very Italian. I had a little charming room in the attic. It was close to where I wanted to be in the city too.

The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom. I am a taller person and it was very cramped in the bathroom. The roofline sloped in there and I had to duck down any time I was in the bathroom. Shower stall was very crowded for me as well

The hotel is located in the heat of the old town of Lucca. everything around you can reach in a few minutes by walking . It is the best location ever. The house itself is very authentic, the first floor is from the 12th century, an entry doors from the 15th century, rooftop is from 17th century. My room was in a romantic attic with an authentic roof. The towers of Luka could be seen through the window. The house has an elevator. The dining room has a beautifully painted ceiling, like in palace... The owner of this property is an architect, a very interesting and friendly man, he treated me to breakfast, showed me his historic house and even arranged a free bike for me for the whole day, thanks to him I got to see the beautiful villas in the hills around Lucca. I am very grateful to him for all.

Location is central, property has real history with parts visible on ground floor dating to the 12th century. The loft room we had, had low ceilings with exposed beams adding to the charm of the property. Being 6 ft did not bother me at the least, I would definitely stay again!

Nothing to complain about especially for the price we paid

Lucca is a beautiful little town, which combines the charm of the Italian province with a sophisticated vibe (at least the area within the wall, the part I know..) - and the hotel mirrors that. - located in a typical Italian backyard, but inside surprisingly modern, even with an exclusive touch - big apartment (not only a room), with an infrastructure which leaves you perfectly happy (shower, WLAN,..) - a few minutes walk from the train station - friendly staff (english speaking) - as far as I remember it even was the cheapest hotel for our date

It was our only Lucca booking, therefore we can't compare, and a stay for only 1 night, therefore with a limited experience (room cleaning,..). But I have no doubts about the overall quality.

The variety for breakfast was excellent and plenty enough. The owner and staff are very friendly. The location is perfect for those who want to be right on the doorstep to everything going on in Lucca. The rooms were quiet.

The room needs new curtains that fit and don’t hang like they are going to fall off the rod. There needs to be better cleaning cloths for washing and drying in the kitchenette. The floors were not very clean. My socks and feet got quite dirty. I would suggest a thorough washing of the floors after each person leaves.

The location was great and Claudio the manager/owner was a sweetheart! He made sure that we were comfortable and everything was ok. He gave us great tips on where to eat good Lucchese food. I did not stay at this location. He ended up transferring us to his other B&B - la Violette

On La Violette our room had no AC so we had to keep the windows opened which was noisy.

Excellent location and extremely helpful owner. The room was huge and our stay included breakfast. Can’t say enough about how helpful the owner is!

The property was wonderful! If I had to pick one thing to change, I just wish there had been a drinking glass in the bathroom. But that’s no big deal.

The B&B has a very distinct style, old fashion grandeur. We were upgraded to the suite, a nice surprise. The bathroom was modern and immaculately clean, as was the rest of the place. The host and staff were very welcoming, breakfast was good.
