The views from this B&B were picturesque and serene. The accommodation was spotless and a home away from home. The hosts were warm, beyond caring/accommodating, and made our stay seamless (I wish I could write all the details there are to this, no kinder hosts have I met before in all my travels). Here, we got a 5-star treatment for far less than what other big hotel chains offered. Pongo (I hope I spelled the name correctly) is the most well-behaved and friendly dog I have ever met. My mum and I are both terrified of dogs but Pongo cured us of that in a completely good way. I wish my stay was longer, and now that I have found this Gem, will most certainly be coming back!

Eleanor and David (the hosts) were the highlights! Such kind and helpful people and Eleanor makes AMAZING breakfast cakes. The location is great for an amazing view and if you’re there when the local restaurants and things are open, but I am very glad I had a car for this property location. Also a couple of good activities very near the property. Their dog and cat are both very sweet- Pongo (probably spelled wrong) is the happiest rescue and he will make sure everyone knows he is a happy and free boy!

Our stay at Balcone Fiorito was simply perfect. The house is beautiful, with breathtaking views of the lake. The garden is super well taken care of, with many beautiful flowers. David and his mum made us feel at home from the first moment. The breakfast is delicious with a selection of fruit, yoghurts, bread, ham and cheese, spreads, juice and different pastries every day. They have the most adorable and loving dog, Pongo, who welcomes you every morning in the garden. The property is easy to get to from the port by taxi in no more than 7 min ride. We walked up a few times in 25 mins from the Port. Near the house, there is an excellent local restaurant that David recommended and we enjoyed local and delicious Italian food. We enjoy our stay so much and we can't wait to go back!

We spent a wonderful week as guests of Balcone Fiorito. Location, breakfast and accommodation were all excellent. Eleanor and David are the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. They were always attentive to our needs and offered some great advice on locations to visit and hidden gems that enhanced our stay immensely. We will definitely be visiting this B&B again. We also loved Pongo and would have happily taken him home with us given half the chance...

Eleanor is the gracious host of this 'straight out of a fairy tale' house doubling up as a B&B. Photos of this listing do not do justice to the overall charm of this B&B. The accomodation was very spacious (Living room, kitchen, bedroom & toilet), fully furnished with beautiful paintings and furniture and has a beautiful view of Lake Como. A big thumbs up for the overall cleanliness and hygiene.  It is located at Croche, which is up around the hills about 2 kms from Menaggio bus stop. Bus C12 takes you to and fro. Eleanor picked us from our bus stop at Menaggio. She helped us enormously with all the local information required to travel within Como and also dropped us to locations when required. Her husband Adriano and son David ensured we had a pleasant stay. On the morning of check-out, Adriano was kind enough to drop us off to our bus-stop while commuting to his workplace. (Future guests, do bear in mind that these courtesy rides were upon the host's discretion & schedule. We fondly consider the same as favours and not part of the package)  The property has a beautiful garden with  seating arrangements to dine as well as relax. 2 pets, a cat and a dog (Pongo) give you some furry company so you don't miss your pets while away from home. Spending time around Pongo and watching him do his zoomies was heartwarming.  Breakfast arrangements were nice and timed flexibly as per our schedule.  Besides the sumptuous fare of sandwiches, cheese, tea, coffee, fruits, juices etc, Eleanor specially baked some  amazing scones & muffins for us, the aromas of which still waft through our happy memories. Dear Eleanor, Adriano & David, thank you again for everything. We hope to revisit Lake Como soon and spend a longer time of leisure at 'Balcone Fiorito'.

Lots of space in the bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Superb view of the lake. Eleanor and David were delightful and very friendly hosts. We will use again for a longer stay next time. We were en route but would love to stay here for a week next year to explore Lake Como more.

Eleanor snd her son were so lovely. I was travelling solo and it felt like home. It is an amazing location with incredible views. I loved everything about this place.

The hosts were extremely friendly and the view is incredible! Breakfast was on the terrace overlooking the lake and mountains, and David and Eleanor were even able to make it vegan. The garden was beautiful as well.

Balcone Fiorito is so charming because of its location away from the bustle of Menaggio, but this also means it’s hard to get to town if you don’t have a car. There are very few taxis in the area (so definitely get the taxi numbers from the hosts), but there is a bus during the day that is very easy to take - it leaves from the gelateria down the road every 50 minutes. You can buy your ticket at the gelateria and get an ice cream while you wait :)

What a little gem of a place! Beautiful views and comfortable room, looking out over Mennagio. Hosts were fantastic, nothing was ever too much of an ask. They provided an excellent breakfast each day which was more than enough food and kindly provided us with beach towels when we hadn't brought any and picked us up from the port/dropped us off on our first/last days. They showed us how to safely walk down to Mennagio as we didn't have a car (approx 30 mins, all downhill and on paths with lovely views) and even gave us a bottle of bubbly for our engagement and my partner's birthday! There are 3 nearby restaurants if you don't fancy going in and out of Mennagio and the hosts were kind enough to book these for us each night and all did excellent food and had great service. They also provided plenty of local taxi and bus information. And the highlight of our stay was the adorable fluffy rescue dog Pongo :) who was super friendly and a joy to be around!

Room could get very hot sometimes - best idea is to shut the shutters and leave the doors open! There is also a little fan in the room to help with this!

This B&B was around a 35 minute walk from Menaggio (45 minutes if you're walking up the hill) or a 10 minute bus journey if you don't have a car. We arrived and were greeted warmly by the hosts who were extremely kind and helpful from beginning to end. The breakfast was exceptional and the views from our room were worth the walks and bus trips up the hill. Room was clean and was ideal having a washing machine to wash our clothes during our backpacking. Could not recommend this B&B enough

Was slightly higher up the road than we expected but was worth it in the end and possibly a fan to cool the room down in the summer months. We were expecting to get the room with the balcony since we booked that one however, our room was changed due to us not needing all those rooms/beds. Regardless our stay was still very much enjoyable.
