The hotel is on the hill, with our room overlooking the hotel's beautiful garden which is full of flowers overlooking the lake. Stunning view really The location is also perfect, it is in Menaggio, a beautiful town on lake Como, which is a calm, laid back, and classly place (unlike other areas which are busy and noisy) where you can dine or have a drink by the lake.

Nothing. But note, the rooms do not have aircon, which was fine when i visited because the weather was crisp, clean and cool breeze, so i slept comfortably with the balcony door open. So check which season you are visiting and whether it becomes very hot.

Tidy hotel, in a lovely location, very quiet and a great balcony with views across the lake and mountains. We spend most of our time outdoors but the facilities were good, and dinner and breakfast were on offer and looked good (we ate out). Be warned the hotel location is about a mile outside of the main town and it's up a hill so a degree of fitness is required. The walk down to the town is via some cobbled steps, it's actually very nice, but not for platform shoes....

I think each room could really do with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool.

This is a lovely hotel a bit uphill from the lake. It is very cozy with nice views of the lake and mountains from the room. The room itself is very clean with everything you need. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty. There is a place to park your car, so it is very convenient.

No air conditioner in the room. There is a ventilator but in a hot summer weather its barely sufficient. Make sure to close window shutters for a day so that the room is cool in the evening

The location is a bit out of the way, but a pleasant downhill walk into town. The staff is lovely and accommodating, and communicates well, whichever the language. I had a wonderful view from my balcony, and the room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were great - homemade pasta was a highlight. And Paolo offered to meet me at the Ferry dock with my luggage, so I could make another excursion unencumbered. Way above & beyond the call of duty!

If you’re looking to be close to town, you might want to be elsewhere. It was great for me. Very quiet.

Staff went over the top to help us . Owner even gave us a ride to the ferry port Food at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was some of the best I had in Italy, The rooms have lots of charm but have been tastefully brought up to date. Would stay here again

Nothing to not like. Just be aware that it’s a steep walk from the ferry port and bus stop. If you have luggage you really need to catch a cab . There is a taxi stand a very short walk from the ferry port ( to the right towards the square ) right in front of the bus stop that takes you to Como . Being a 150 year old property there is no A/C but this is lake Como and in early September the night time temp drops to the low 60’s so it’s really not needed.

Great value with friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable if simple rooms and excellent food which was surprising considering it is rated two stars. Great views across the lake. It appears to be very popular with walkers.

It is located about 8-9 minutes walk down steep steps to the centre. If you have walking difficulties you may find it challenging. My wife managed it despite having broke her femur recently.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Loveno and we were very glad that we chose to stay in the town of Menaggio and at this hotel. The property is located a little way up a steep hill from the lake front - about ten minutes' walk in either direction from Menaggio main square. It is a beautiful building set in even more beautiful gardens. The hydrangeas were in glorious full bloom in late June. Check in was welcoming, quick and efficient. Our room looked out onto the garden and had a partial view of the lake. The room was a nice size, very clean, and comfortable. Bathroom also a nice size. The WiFi was excellent. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but we did have coffee each morning and a drink in the garden one evening. A few guests seemed to be eating their evening meal at the hotel, which is an appealing option because there are not that many restaurants in Menaggio. I would recommend staying in Menaggio and taking the boat to Varenna and Bellaggio, which worked for us, as Menaggio is a little bit (only a little bit) off the main tourist circuit.

It is a very quaint, beautiful European hotel. The staff was simply outstanding. The hotel has a restaurant, and we ate dinner and breakfast there. Good because there are no other close restaurants.

There are exactly 3 taxis in town and they must be reserved in advance or you are out of luck. The hotel is far up the hill - not walkable with luggage. There is a bus, but finding the schedule is problematic. We finally got an Uber - for 56 euros, for approximately 1.5 miles. Our apartment was very sweet, unfortunately on the 3rd floor with no elevator.

Staff very welcoming and nice! Breakfast and Dinner available at the hotel. Breakfast is very good as well as the dinner! The room is spacious with lake view terrace (Unfortunately rained all stay and we enjoyed it just a little). We had shutters to block 100% the light, I loved it. The hotel has car parking lot. The hotel is 20 min walking up from the city center, maybe not good for everyone.

The room was a little bit cold at our arrival.

We loved Hotel Loveno and look forward to coming back: - Staff was genuinely friendly and went above and beyond -Breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty -Amazing dinner selection with homemade pasta and desserts. We went through most of the menu! -We had a beautiful room with view of lake Como. The room was big with high ceilings
