This is a wonderful hotel in the beating heart of Napoli - it is a short walk from the main Garibaldi Train Station and as you would expect it is extremely chaotic and busy around here- but that is what to expect in a city such as Naples. Very easy to get around the main attractions- Trains to Pompeii and Sorrento are very accessible and the hotel is within walking distance to Old Town and Shopping District. Noise from the street is almost completely muffled by well insulated rooms and there is also a balcony in the room. There is a bar open 24/7 offering a decent selection of drinks. Air conditioning in the room. Shower pressure is one of the best I have experienced in a hotel and the beds are comfy if functional. The staff at Hotel Ares are truly exceptional- Simone, Orlando and Matteo go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home- their knowledge of the local area is first class and that really assisted us in making the most of our trip. Special shout out to Nunzio the Night Porter who would never hesitate to offer me a drink late in the evening and his warmth was just so genuine. Also Antonietta the Breakfast lady always remembered me and my wife’s milk preferences and even carried our luggage to the storage on check out at her request. This is real Italian hospitality at its finest. A very reasonable price for the room too. You will not be disappointed coming to Hotel Ares.

The shower did not completely drain but after a small bit of self maintenance this was fixed- no biggie.

The breakfast was great - and ABUNDANT ! Luana was delightful and always ready to assist with something special. At the front desk Simone was always helpful and eager to do anything to make our stay more enjoyable. I found the room quiet and had no trouble sleeping even though our room faced on a busy street - the combination of sound-proof windows and exterior shutter completely muffled any stree sound. The hotel is located a short walk from Napoli Centrale train station and is surrounded by small streets and alleys which give a real sense of Naples - and still felt very safe. If I ever return to Naples I will try to stay here again

Nothing - was vey satisfied

we wanted somewhere cheap and easy to reach and sightsee from (including going to pompeii/Herculean) the location is excellent, close to the old town and station but without being in the hectic and noisy part of the old town. we arrived at 1am so luckily we could still check in, in part this was why we also chose this, and we could leave luggage before heading off to our next destination. staff were great it was good value for money but honestly i would not bother with the breakfast

the shower is really small, we were two ladies so wasnt a problem but a big guy would struggle, also whilst set back from the road it was a little noisy, just meant we couldnt open the window to sleep. but all in all we wanted a safe and clean place to stay to do lots of sight seeing, we merely slept in the room.

Very good value for a great location, not far from the old town and also close to train stations. Good selection at breakfast. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, with many recommendations on places to eat, taking trains, taxis, etc.

The rooms are a little on the small side but this is expected for an inner city hotel. A shower door rather than curtain would be recommended but not essential! Breakfast coffee not great.

Great location, close to the train station but felt relatively safe, also close enough to walk to the old town and other attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small and not super comfortable but we only stayed for a weekend so it was fine. Air conditioning was great. Bathroom was pretty big with decent water pressure.

The hotel is a little old fashioned and it was quite expensive.

the staff here were SO nice, huge shoutout to Simon who was incredibly helpful! I arrived late night and he was great at finding me somewhere that was still open for food and organising a pizza delivery for me. Equally helpful when I needed taxis ordered and to give transport recommendations. Really easy to get to the train station from here and the rooms are simple but perfectly comfortable. Would absolutely recommend.

I had to book one night in this hotel, as my other B&B Bonapace Portanolana was a getto/prison experience. Booking com team rushed to cancelled my stay and place other guest telling a no show, terefore charging a full ammount of 4 days for service I never used. So this Suite ARES was a life saving from staying in dirty place (on a picture). Booking com actually not allowed to place a revew B&B Bonapace, no giving a refund. So paid double but actually had a good night sleep.

The surraunding area non turist friendly, however not fault of the hotel. I was treatened with extortion by not wearing a covid mask by a man pretending to be a police (for a bribe of 50$) in July 2022 (while all masks restrictions were lifted). Unsafe and noisy surrounding. This hotel looks like an oasis in that area. The staff in ARES was helpful, but I personaly will avoide to support turists unfriendly, scum city in the future as I never got as bad experience with hotels as my treatment by B&B Bonapace Portanolana here.

The location of the hotel is good mainly because it is close to the central station of Naples, about 10 minutes walking. As I visited cities close to Naples the location of the hotel was excellent. But the hotel isn't far from the historic center of Naples, it is fully possible to reach the center on foot. The room is comfortable and quiet. Breakfast is very good and the staff are attentive and helpful.

The room is fine. Decoration is pretty old but everything works and is clean. Probably it is better than the pictures.

In the morning we had a leak of one of the bathroom appliances and the floor was wet. We were in a rush and did not tell the staff to fix it but it seemed that it was not the first time that it happened.

I was travelling by train. It was convenient both for the station but also the areas of interest within the city

It is dated decoratively. The tiling is of it’s time. The shower tray is less in area than the towel and has a shower curtain. I forgotten how cold they can be.
