The most interesting distinctness in our 14day Sicilia tour was our visit to Piazza Armerina for a day, first because it was the only non-seaside village included, second because of the architectural and constructional value of its own. Pleasant surprise the Antichi Quartieri, a first impression of a doll house from a fairy tale but then proved to be comfy and spacy, with a very interesting owner -Gigi the name- who made his best to have us satisfied. He gave us instructions about his place and where to visit, he and his wife prepared the most impressive breakfast we had during our entire Sicilia tour, containing authentic Sicilian tastes that we appreciated. Free public parking lots around the house. We really enjoyed our staying in Piazza Armerina and the Antichi Quartieri, we really enjoyed meeting this kind and warm person, Gigi. Even the cleaning lady whom we met at the time of our leaving the premises, was a lovable person. We took back home loving memories from Piazza Armerina and the Antichi Quartieri. Highly recommended.

Antichi Quartieri is near the top of the old town in a recently modernised older building. It is close to the heart of the old town and the restaurants and bars. Our hosts were very kind: we were late arriving and our host offered to collect us from the bus stop, and indeed gave us a lift there when we left, saving us a 20 minute walk. Our room was very comfortable and stylish, and the breakfast included a wide selection of delicious homemade items. There's a coffee machine for guests' use, which is a nice feature. There's a bus service which operates from the town in the season to reach the Casale Romane.

We've had some wonderful breakfasts on our trip, but this breakfast was incredible and by far the best we experienced! Matteo was a fantastic host-very friendly and helpful on tips on things to do in the area. Our room was very clean and comfortable with the bonus of it retaining its antique tiled floor which was beautiful. The town itself perfectly met my idea of what a Sicilian town should look like with its twisting cobblestone streets. It was charming.

Be sure to have a small car. It was a true test of my driving ability to navigate the narrow streets. The town is very hilly so it is not walkable for longer distances.

The breakfast was excellent and the host great

As an older relatively fit person I found exploring on foot in the heat extremely difficult given the sharp incline of streets and driving was very stressful

The breakfast was very good and diverse, the host Matteo is a very pleasant person and does his utmost to make the stay comfortable. We were lucky to have the best room of the B&B with a nice view and the location is top due to the proximity of the cathedral and uptown.

The unavoidable narrow and hard stairs to access the accommodation space, but Matteo is there to help carry the suitcases, etc.

A fantastic place from which to explore the old town. Parking was no problem, but getting there did require navigating some of the old narrow streets which is to be expected in these historic towns. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, you could not ask for more.

Breakfast was a little basic, but prepared with care and attention

Breakfast was good; nice room and we had a lovely conversation with people who were in another room, who made excellent suggestions as to what else to see the next day.

Getting in was a bit of a trial. At the time stated that we could check in, no one was there and it took a phone call and a bit of a wait; this wasted some of our time.

Breakfast was wonderful, including the artistic fruit plate designed by the father. The family were gracious hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with Matteo. The room was clean and quiet. The location and parking were convenient. Thank you again to Matteo who came early to let us in and turned on the heat on an exceptionally cold and wet May day.

Nothing.

Great location with parking very near. Really communicative and welcoming host - who also gave a recommendation for a local trattoria where we had the best pasta meals! Fabulous breakfast served at time of our choosing.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like!

We visited several places on Sicily and always got really great accomodation, but Antichi Quartieri was relly the best. Matteo and his parents are amazing hosts with the warmest welcome you can imagine. We enjoyed each minute of our stay and only flaw was it was too short.

All was perfect
