Everything!

LOCATION AMAZING! Staff were great. When arrived later than expected we asked the front desk pups don take the bags to our room as we wanted to get valuable time in the city. When we arrived in the room later that evening, we discovered a number of issues. It was late so the only thing the night staff could do was move us to a temporary room for the evening. Te guest relations manager arranged a lovely suite the next morning for the remainder of our stay.

Some issues and confusion with our room initially.

We had always wanted to stay at the Hassler, one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in Rome - and it definitely lived up to its reputation. Probably the best there is in this category of hotel in Rome - unbeatable location with breathtaking views of the entire city, moments away from the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese, with professional, friendly and helpful staff, and an impressive event for Christmas Eve. Also refreshing to know it is still family owned and run.

Amazing location at the top of the Spanish Steps and around the corner from Villa Borghese (a beautiful park with stunning views of the city). The guest rooms were large and well-appointed - quiet and peaceful. Service was impeccable and gracious. The concierge was extrneley helpful. Lovely complimentary continental breakfast each day with ample offerings and fresh quality pastries, fruit, hot dishes, etc.

The gym was adequate but very small - I recommend allocating more space to the spa and fitness area - other guests were also complaining while working out at the same time. Too crowded - not enough machines - a few more upright bicycles, a rowing machine, and another treadmill would be a good place to start.

The hotel certainly has the best service in Rome. Everything works out and the resident feels special from the reception desk to the room.

Since it is a five-star hotel, the stars must apply to all elements. The hotel achieves five stars in everything else except the mattresses and pillows of the beds, as well as the cleanliness of the room. There was some dust in the rooms and the quality of the pillows and mattresses was poor. We have stayed in the hotel 4 times before, and we don't remember noticing a bed problem before.

The grandeur of the old hotel, exceptional service from doormen to cleaners and concierge, the best location in Rome. Beds were so comfortable it was difficult to get out in the morning. Turndown service was efficient and pleasant. Cheese selection at the breakfast was great. View from the terrace on Level 7 is out of this world (but the area is very small and crowded on most evenings).

Rooms are smaller than more recently built 5 star hotels (even though we got a corner suite, it felt small for 3 pax because of the "dead space" in the walk in closet). Sofa bed was too small for our 15 year old boy (he couldn't fully stretch). Breakfast was not impressive - pastries were dry, food options were limited.

Location and decor. The Bar is one of the nicest in the world.

Breakfast was very poor and staff serving breakfast were unhelpful unfriendly and not interested.

Our entire stay at this hotel was amazing!! This was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, the staff at the hotel were exceptional. The rooms are out of this world, the location is perfect and the food is delicious. Thank you for such an incredible stay, we can’t wait to come back!

There is nothing that we didn’t like about the property, it is perfect.

Best location, friendly staff. The service and hotel is top class, of course.

Scenic view restaurant only available for Michelin star meals, not for casual food. I have been here several times, since I was little. Haven't been in a while. The hotel always had great appeal. It might be the confrontation between old school formal service and, for example, a guest arriving in a bikini at breakfast. The hotel arranged for chauffeur service, but several things went wrong (lost booking, wrong car).

All 5 stars hotels should have a star taken away and given to the Hassler! Probably the best hotel I have stayed in. Location, service, hospitality, comfort…the list is endless! Takes the Rome experience to another level
