I have nothing but great things to say about Il Boom. The retro Hollywood decor is so charming. It is obvious that it was carefully and lovingly curated. If you think the pictures look incredible, wait until you see it in person! In addition, staff always greeted us warmly and ensured that we were well taken cared of. I especially looked forward to the homemade pastries for breakfast! As if my heart wasn’t already captivated, there were sweet animals that were clearly accustomed to and enjoyed having guests. They are just too precious. Luna (and friends) bumps up Il Boom’s score from 10/10 to 11/10!

Big spacious room, with a huge private bathroom! (Plus a jacuzzi bath). The outdoor terraces were so cool with a great view. We spent our evenings out there drinking and playing cards. Breakfast was great, with lots of options. Plus different baking each day! The staff were friendly and the dog was very cute. We loved the pinball machine! Great location in a quiet area, but walking distance to everywhere you need to go.

I would absolutely recommend staying at Il Boom! Angelo was a very welcoming and helpful host. The room was clean and spacious, and the entire place is fitted out with quirky retro decorations. The rooftop terrace is a great place to enjoy the delicious breakfast, relax after a hard day of touristing, or sit back and watch the tortoises chase each other around. Located in a quieter part of Trastevere, but just a short walk (less than 10 mins) to all of the area's amazing bars and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Everything. Il boom represented the heights of Italian Cinema and the place was wonderfully decorated and well suited for guests of Rome - newcomers and well acquainted citizens alike. Sitting outside on the balcony/patio felt like a vacation dream in another country and we couldn’t be more grateful that Salvatore has opened up his property for tourists to enjoy the views. Also, Luna the dog.

Wish we got the room with the private bathroom, otherwise nothing.

Beautiful building with a very welcoming host in a nice quiet area (but close enough to walk to all the nice eateries in trastevere). The owner contacted in advance of our trip to give advice on how to get from the airport and kindly organised a driver at a flat rate (waiting for us at the airport, which made things very easy). The rooms in this b&b are beautifully decorated with 50s movie art and music prints… it feels like the interiors are curated with great attention to detail. Lovely baked goods for breakfast and we were given some to take with us on leaving. Would definitely come back here if in Roma again.

This place is rally a hidden gem, a design feast with careful attention to detail. The location is perfect, and easily accessible to restaurants bars and so forth on foot, taxi, or bus, we used all three. The personable genuineness of our both Salvatore and Angelo, was beyond expectation. After travelling over a month and experiencing many different levels of service this was outstanding. We arrived after a big day of travelling, to find a lovely bottle of wine in our room, which we shared on the beautiful garden terrace overlooking the city. The check-in was simple, press the buzzer and we were in. The breakfast and kitchen area is like having your own apartment fully stocked, with breakfast options, to include home made treats, like apple chocolate strudel. Not to mention, stove top coffee, our favorite. We had a late flight back to Australia, and we were made welcome to use the terrace level, until we needed to depart for the airport.. A very lovely way to end the last few days of our holiday, with great memories of Rome. Thankyou

There was nothing we did not like

The host was in touch ahead of the trip and helped arrange our transport from the airport. On checkin he made himself available to greet us and show us around despite the late hour. Breakfast was a selection of home made cakes and biscuits with option for ham and cheese / eggs. Good selection of coffees, teas and juices. All readily available you to have at your convenience either in the kitchen area or out on the terrace

an absolutely delightful place to stay, with history, quirky decor, spacious and comfortable rooms, the most amazing terrace with views over the city and it’s own wandering tortoises, an easy walk to Trastevere’s fabulous eateries and beyond to most of Rome’s sights, the excellent welcome, advice and assistance from Salvatore and fabulous breakfast spreads.

The breakfast was home made with very tasty cakes and pastries. We sat outside on the spacious rooftop to have breakfast. We also sat outside in the afternoon and enjoyed a glass of wine whilst taking in the expansive view of Trastevere and Rome. We loved the retro feel of the BnB, the artwork and decor. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

The host are very nice and give all the necessary information. The view from the roof terrace is indescribable! and the terrace has two levels and amazing residents (turtles) :) And breakfast-amazing! home made cakes, and kitchenette for self made eggs and sandwich.

only bad thing is that our vacation was too short and we had to leave this wonderful place
