In my 40+ years of travelling I have to say that the two nights I spent at Locanda La Corte are amongst the best nights I have ever had abroad. The property met all expectations on being an ancient 16th century building that has completely renovated and transformed into a fantastic family-owned guest house. The location is perfect; on the edge of a canal far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the beauty of Venice and the natural pace of Venetian life, but close enough to be within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions. However, it is the staff and owner’s dedication to providing a “home away from home” that really sets Locanda La Corte apart. We pre-booked the restaurant for our first night. It was an excellent choice; not only was the food superb but we had our first taste of Rami’s attentiveness to his guests. As Head Chef, he came around each table at every course (and we had 3 the food was that good) to check everything was fine. Later in the evening it became apparent he was the owner, then later still he popped up as the bass guitarist to accompany Frankie, the very fine, but modest, guitarist in between all his hosting duties. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, they heard I was a musician and I was invited up to play a song with an encore with Rami and Frankie. Next night we the nearby pizzeria that Rami also owns. Despite the pizzeria being already packed, Rami, who had popped up in the pizzeria, greeted us like long-lost friends and squeezed in another table to accommodate us, introducing us to his wife, the waiting staff and the musician while the table was set up. The pizza here was wonderful, as was the service and the hospitality. We finished the night off back in the restaurant at Locanda La Corte, where Rami was back as chef, owner, guitarist and all-round great guy, and I was ‘dragged’ back up to play another couple of songs with the guys.

We stayed one night with our teenaged granddaughters in 2 rooms. This proved to be an ideal accommodation for us. It is really charming mixing traditional with modern decor. Both rooms were really nice, spacious with modern baths. Breakfast was delicious and served in a courtyard with fresh air. All the staff we encountered were friendly, professional, and helpful. Most spoke very good English. What we really liked was the location which is just outside of the tourist madhouse but close enough to easily walk to all the main sites. The hotel is located just down a narrow alley from a lovely square on a canal with a church and several bars and restaurants. It was delightful to sit in this square and enjoy Venice. The hotel provides directions from the train station on the water bus. One bit of advice, take the walking route from the water bus stop to the hotel that goes on the inside streets not along the canal. The reason for this is that the canal route includes several bridges which require that you lug your suitcase up and down stairs over the bridges! The restaurant at the hotel was closed when we stayed because it was Monday, however they own another restaurant, A le Tole, which was wonderful.

A great base for a few days exploring Venice - a short distance from all the sights but still felt quite tucked away on a quiet stretch of the canal, with a lovely peaceful courtyard, and a little seating area right on the canal. All of the staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful and it felt like a very relaxed, comfortable place to stay. The room suited us for a couple of nights - we (2 adults, 2 teenage children) stayed in a family room which was large and had a large double and a sofa bed - the room was immaculately clean. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was lovely and we had dinner there one evening which was great fun as the owner is very charismatic and entertaining and there was live music - the food was really good too!

The room was slightly dated and the shower was tiny, but it was all immaculately clean and felt comfortable. They have live music every evening in the restaurant which we could clearly hear in our room which might bother some people but for us it just added to the fun of our stay (playing guess the song!) and it stopped at 11pm.

Hotel location was great (less than a 10 minute walk to many of the main attractions in Venice), staff were really friendly, breakfast was amazing and decor in reception and eating areas was very trendy. The hotel also has a nice restaurant attached to it for lunch and dinner.

Beds were overly firm, lighting in room was poor and bathroom was somewhat dated.

The whole experience was amazing we loved the location and the atmosphere around and inside this hotel ,the food was outstanding and the staff were very helpful and friendly ,breakfast was served in the courtyard which was so nice as we had excellent weather so looked forward to this start of the day ,evening meal which we had twice once in courtyard and once in tavern were both very high standard

I thought may be a special board with a few extra dishes could of been introduced had menu was the same every evening there was plenty to choose from if you liked seafood but this limited to eat in there our other 2 evenings I think menu could stay the same as always available choices but a few extra choices each evening for quests staying longer than a few nights

Lovely hotel with amazing helpful staff and gracious involved owner/host. The restaurant associated with the hotel La Corte is just superlative, with the owner taking special care to make custom food for us. Breakfast was very good. Rooms are unique. Rooms and beds are very comfortable. The location is unique - right next to places where movies such as Spiderman and Mission Impossible, and music videos such as Madonna's Like a Virgin were filmed. The hotel is less than 10 minute walk from St. Marks square and the Rialto bridge, and 3 minutes from gondola stations.

The only complaint is the underwhelming air conditioning which was inadequate in the sweltering heat.

The hotel and location were beautiful, as was a sitting area right on a canal. We generally enjoyed the restaurant on site and the live music. The room is beautifully decorated.

Despite this beautiful hotel and location, the entire country, including this hotel, is lacking in sufficient air conditioning. For some of us, it is really hard to sleep with no air circulation and hot, muggy air around us when we are used to some coolness in summertime. I wish the hotel owner would reconsider. That really affects our sleep. There were two units in the room and, according to the host, only one was working.

We loved everything about Locanda La Corte. A receptionist very kind and helpful. When we arrived, he was willing to call to their ownershiped nearest restaurant (spaghetteria/pizzeria) to book a table for us (it was late, busy season, everywhere full- means difficult to find one. He did!). The hotel itself is beautiful, we loved our room overlooking a canal. Stunning essentials, soft towels, great bed, lots of space, sofa, even bottle/wine opener in the room (great detail!), wifi worked well any time... Also the reception is more than welcoming, themed decorated, really very nice seating space with overlooking canal. The atrium is lovely, tasty breakfast- nice choice of sweet and sovoury food, fruit, yogurts, cerials, fresh pastry (also gluten free), ham, cheese, choice of juice... Fantastic cappuccino made by very nice, welcoming staff. There was no problem to leave our luggage after check out at the reception where we also spent some time (charging phones) and the very friendly owner offered us complimentary coffee. It will be our pleasure to come back.

Super nice location, both the interior as well as access to main attractions in Venice. As we were travelling with a lot of luggage, I appreciate the fact that the hotel had a docking station, and the boat taxi left us at the door. We did not have to drag and carry our luggage across Venice. We booked 3 rooms, all were great, In one the air conditioning wasn’t working at first, but this was repaired during our stay. Mar who is there in the morning was super nice and helpful at all times.

The hotel is just off a big square with restaurants and eateries around it, and a beautiful church. It has a lovely breakfast room, a nice breakfast, where there is also dining at night, very convenient. There is also a tiny outside area where you can sit viewing the canal. Many features of the original building are preserved which is wonderful - including an old well in the inside courtyard.
