The location's great, and the owner is very helpful as well. We got caught in the rain and our shoes got wet as a result, and after explaining the situation, she suggested to stuff the shoes with newspaper and let them dry overnight with the air-con set to Dry mode, even providing the old newspapers for us to do so. Needless to say, I am very grateful for the help that we got from her. Compared to other accommodations, the bathroom is also really big. If you're traveling on a budget and don't mind lacking a few amenities like having a private toilet while doing so, it's actually great.

As others have already stated in their reviews, the place can be rather small. Being limited to use the bathroom for 20 minutes and having to check if the other guests are using it can also be difficult to get used to. (For the record, I never had any trouble using the bathroom despite having this arrangement) But if you made your booking at Iroha Ryokan after reading all that, then it should not be a problem at all.

As an overseas visitor to Aomori, I felt very welcomed by the proprietress. It was a much more personal experience than staying at a hotel and she made sure to check in with me every day. And despite the language barrier, everything was explained clearly and there was lots of helpful signage posted. I also enjoyed my room on the third floor and the air conditioner worked well. The room was big for me as a solo traveler and two people would fit fine. Three might be a little cozy unless you're just needing a place to crash. While there is one shower, it was never a problem grabbing a shower each day. I stayed for 5 nights and the place appeared full each night and yet I only ever caught a glimpse of another lodger twice. If planning to use the free washing machine, just be sure to leave time to hang dry your laundry. And, as everyone else says, the location absolutely cannot be beat.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. I had read all of the reviews available and understood what to expect.

The hotel is located right next to the train station. You will have to worry if you need to take an early train or bus. Many tourist locations are also right next to it like the Nebuta museum, A-Factory or the bridge. The room has the perfect size for your luggage, a futon and a desk. The owners seem very nice.

There is only one shower for everyone. I don't know if there is sometimes a line to take it, there was none when I took it. But even if there is written "jacuzzi/bath" in the description of the hotel (which I interpreted as onsen but it wasn't), you can't really take a bath because others will be waiting for you.

We loved the place, how close it was to the station and the fact that we had some tea and chocolates waiting for us in our room! The room itself was comfortable, and the shower, while downstairs, was very spacious.

The one thing I would 'complain' about, even though I completely understand it, is that the front door closed at 23:00, with no possibility to go in or out of it anymore.

The best selling point is the location. You can see Aomori Station from the doorstep, and you are walking distance to the main shopping street, fish markets, Nebuta Festival Museum, etc. Room was clean, and the lady running the whole thing was extremely friendly. Really nice and well kept tatami room.

If you require an elevator, don't stay here as it is stairs only to the 2nd and 3rd floors. This is more of a nitpick, but the 'lobby' area is incredibly small, and it can be very awkward trying to get by people who are checking in/out for the day. The shower area is also connected to the lobby, and while I never had this problem, having one shower to share in a hotel with 12(?) rooms can probably get pretty tricky.

It's traditional ryokan, you have your own japanese style bedroom, decent facilities and super clean! The staff spoke limited English, but there were clear written instructions everywhere in English so if you don't speak Japanese at all, you'll be fine :) Shared toilets and basins were just in front of the rooms, the staff was very thoughtful to refill japanese green tea sachets everyday although the beverage box was quite hidden on table :D

only one shared bathroom with limited time of usage, but it's ok because not so many rooms in the ryokan, i didn't experience lining up for shower

The owner was really kind and could give me basic instructions in english. The property and my room looked really clean, and the shared facilities as well. Bed was super comfortable. Tea and chocolates were also available in the room. Location was perfect: very convenient if you're having a short stay in Aomori and don't plan to explore the outskirts, as everything you may need is there: JR station, Nebuta Warasse Museum, tourism information building, A-Factory, restaurants, convenience stores and fish markets. Everything is there.

Not a problem to me, but I think the rooms are not very soundproof and you can easily hear what happens outside (probably also the other way around?).

Very kind host :-) Very clean accomodation! Covid seems to be still a big thing here (Not only in this accomodation, but in the entire area)., so it's one more reason that the accomodation is kept very clean. You get towels, green tea, razor etc. Very close to the train station.

Only 1 shower for 8 rooms. 1 toilet per floor (4 rooms) was ok. - it's not a negative point, just has to be mentioned. No power outlet in the room. For one night i used the power bank, so it didn't matter for me.

The location is really close to the JR station, restaurants, shops and the pier for walking by. The inn was simple but had a really cosy and charming atmosphere to it. The best part is the room was big and spacious, with a futon, small table and good air conditioning. I would 100% stay here again if visiting Aomori!

There is no elevator so you will need to carry your suitcase/ bags up yourself which can be a bit tiring. The shower/bath area is on the ground floor so you'll need to bring your clothes to change with you.

The location is really nice, this house is small and quaint, a quiet, peaceful spot in Utsunomiya. The room is a mixed dormitory and beds were comfy, no claustrophobic capsule style hotel here! The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, giving information about the area and providing contact in case of emergency or other issues. It was a wonderful stay, I truly hope to visit again!
