The location is excellent near the train station with mall and many food options. Close to food precinct. Rooms are spacious considering general small sizes of rooms in Japan. Ofuna is a good alternative to Kamakura! Make sure you book the right Sotetsu hotel as the other sister hotel nearby is smaller! The room carpets were a bit dusty and quilt covers tattered but not a deal breaker considering the value for money. We booked 2 rooms adjacent for a family of 3. Staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful. They do their best to translate and assist.

Breakfast is a bit ordinary but not terrible. If you’re expecting the ‘usual’ western breakfast you are used to you won’t necessarily get it but it’s still relatively good.

Excellent location, just a few minutes’ walk from Ofuna station, and really handy for eating out - there are lots of restaurants, cafes etc on the doorstep. If you’re planning to visit Kamakura or Enoshima, this would make an excellent base. The room was bright and very clean, and the beds (twin room) a generous size and very comfortable. The bathroom was great - clean and a little larger than expected. Super shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, with a reasonable range of food items on offer.

Strange furniture in the room - two nice chairs, but the tiniest table imaginable, and instead of a desk there was an odd cabinet over the fridge, with a stepped top surface and vent for the fridge, so it was difficult to put much on top of it. The room had seemed large, but this strange furnishing arrangement meant there was nowhere to put anything much, so it ended up feeling a bit cramped. There was also nowhere much to put anything by the beds, just a very narrow ledge over them, just wide enough for a mobile.

Well-priced and close to Ofuna station. It’s a good option for Kamakura as you can reach it in just a few minutes by train. The room was comfortable though small. I would stay there again.

My double room was fine for one person but two people with normal suitcases would struggle to fit in. I had to move the chair into a corner to put my small case down. At the end of the stay my black case which had been on the floor was covered in white dust so I’m not sure how often / well they vacuum. The breakfast staff on the first day didn’t greet guests at all - totally ignored us, whereas the person on day 2 was very friendly.

The hotel is very close to the station, where you can take a variety of JR lines as well as the Shonan Monorail. I stayed in Ōfuna as a base for exploring Kamakura, which I would recommend for anyone wanting to visit the area outside of the main historic and tourist areas near the Kamakura JR Station, which is just two JR stop away. Taking the monorail passes through some interesting communities and dumps you right at the Enoshima station where you can continue down towards the island if you so choose, or take the Enoden west to Fujisawa or east through the beaches. For what it is worth, Ōfuna itself is worth exploring a bit as well. The hotel itself is pretty standard, meeting all expectations. It is clean and well-furnished. Everything needed was provided, staff was friendly, and they also have some additional items in a wall shelf near the first floor elevator entrance where guests can rent various atypical amenities. I did not use any of them but I thought that was a nice touch.

Check-in was a little clumsy. They have machines for automatic check-in, but the machine would not read my passport. I do not know if this is a consistent issue for foreigners, but the staff in general do not speak much English. I was lucky that someone was on shift when I checked in who does speak English well enough and was able to assist when the machine check-in failed.

Close to Ofuna Station like 2 min, friendly staff, cleanness and new building.

It is not that great being greeted by automatic machine and the real person is always needed for some details. That takes more time and processing .This age we like to see the real person welcoming more at the front desk most of the time.

Breakfast was good, but unfortunately it became less menues than before, because economics I stayed many times before, because location, good breakfast, and so on.

I like that frontman (woman) say hello or welcome at front.

Great location very close to station. Breakfast good value for the cost . Staff very helpful and polite . Air con can be adjusted to heat or cool .

Rooms are pretty small but manageable so . Frosted windows don’t allow looking out but windows at least can be opened .

The location is shockingly convenient. Ofuna train station is just 5-min-walk-distance away. The nearest supermarket and restaurant are just right by the hotel. Room is clean, and the staffs are very kind and friendly. I had no problem communicating to them using English.

Everything is up to the satisfaction, nothing that I didn't like.

I liked the location. It is near the public transport to go to the main attractions in the area, and the immidate area is full of nice little shops and a big mall. It has a very unique feeling from the rest of were I was in Japan. The reception is also very welcoming and the ammenities were better than normal.
