It was very quiet when I was there and the reception folk were very easy to work with. They helped me with laundry (because it’s just a regular household machine, not the common pay to use ones you find in most hostels,) and helped me find good ramen close by. The pot tub was amazing! I think that was my favourite bath I’ve ever had. The fact that it is free is so lovely and I couldn’t recommend Kinoya higher. Oh and the little closed dorm bedroom thing was much much better than others I’ve used. It was bigger and I think it had some kind of air filtration. It was very good.

There is nothing in particular that I don’t like. I’m not a huge fan of how you can’t eat in these little hostel units but I do understand why.

The renovated room in this old house gives off the feeling of a traditional Japanese house. You can experience Japanese objects such as tatami mats and traditional bathtubs, as if you are walking into a Japanese anime scene. Although it is traditional, it is clean and tidy. The owner is friendly and happy to provide accommodation assistance. If you need to use the bathtub, you need to book it with the owner in advance. It takes some time to clean and prepare the water. Overall, it is an interesting accommodation experience for foreigners. Plus, The room is located on the second floor of the house. There is a shared kitchen and bathroom on the first floor. There is a convenience store and a supermarket nearby. The nearest train station is a 5-minute walk away.

Everything about the hotel was well thought out. Even a hand basin in the room, a small fridge and TV. Comfortable futons as well! The lounge is great with tea /coffee making facilities. Jiro the host is always around to help with anything and will happily run your bath. The small bathroom has a ceramic bath, beautifully designed and a lovely way to end a long day. It was great having such close access to the rail and bus stations for the everyday excursions to Mt Fuji locations.

The Shinkansen is close and rumbles through like a 747 but earplugs are there for sensitive sleepers. I must say I got used to it!

Traditional looking Hostel close to the JR station, but also offers car parking (and plenty of parking nearby too!). Looks clean and new. The staff are lovely. The rooms are comfortable. The bathrooms and baths are clean and lovely. You use a booking system… do it is private or family use.

Very close to the station, so you hear the Shinkansen going past roughly every 3 minutes! BUT… it is dead quiet at night, after about 10pm. My sons were in the dormitory… the space was huge and private. But they were really hot… no fans or ventilation. The twin room we stayed in had air conditioning.

It’s just right around the Shinkansen-Trainstation so really convenient, it’s a beautiful traditional Japanese House and the bunks are pretty, spacious and really nice. The area is not touristic so you won’t run into other tourists and you can catch a view of Mount Fuji almost everywhere around. Coming to the hostel after an exhausting day the hour in the private bath was the most relaxing thing! Staff is super nice and the place is really calming and nice!

The area around is quite an industrial area, you can feel the trains or cars rumbling and the smell of the wasteplant? around isn’t really nice.

Property is perfectly close to the station. Due to not fully understanding the trains, we had a super late check in, but the staff was still awake and super accommodating. And let me tell you, when he offered to get the small tub going, I could not resist and immediately got to using that. What a way to melt away the stresses of an 11 hours of traveling between plane and train. Sleeping on the tatami futons that first night I won’t soon forget. We were checked out only a mere nine hours later to start climbing Mt. Fuji but it was a great stay and would stay there again in the future.

Nothing, so far as I could tell. It was great.

This place is amazing if you're looking for a budget accommodation in the good-old ryokan style! The last time I travelled in Japan was 17 years ago and there were plenty of ryokans then. Nowadays however (2023) it seems to me that they are practically gone, with just a few of them remaining. This one is a true gem in my opinion. Everything inside makes you feel like you are in a traditional Japanese house – the "genkan" at the entrance, where you leave shoes, the dark wooden floor, sliding doors, two (!) hot baths, tatami matts and futons that you unroll on the floor. The owner who welcomed us was very polite yet cool and relaxed at the same time. If I were again in this area, I would definitely like to stay at this place again.

The only thing is that it is just by a road, so it can be noisy. BUT! The owner offers ear plugs when you check in. :)

I had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay here! I slept so well every night. The lounge area had tea available, with relaxing piano music playing in the background. Also the baths that you could book were amazing, and such a nice experience. The owners of this Hostel were so friendly, kind and helpful. Thank you so much 🙏 Also excellent location right next to Shin-fuji station, so I did not have to carry my luggage far!

Nothing!

It’s a beautiful house in the traditional Japanese style. The location is 2mins walking distance from the Shin Fuji station, very convenient. The environment is very clean and cozy. The best part is the large bath, especially after hiking in the Mt. Fuji. The host is very nice and glad to help with visitors. I will give the hostel 10+++ stars if I could!!! I will definitely choose this hostel again when visit Shin Fuji and I highly recommend it!!

Very nice and Cute traditional Hostel/Hotel. We wanted a traditional house to stay in and we got the full experience. We would definitely come back! Private onsen/bath/shover has to be reserved, but it’s not a problem and very nice.

Tatami is not the most comfortable thing to sleep on, but it’s traditional and should be like that. Just an western thing to sleep on very soft beds.
