Loved the hot springs addition, especially as there were outside baths and inside baths available with a simple system to follow. Staff member was incredibly nice and showed us where everything was, as well as how to use the locks on the doors and where the springs were via his tablet. Mountain view room did indeed have a mountain view. We were up early enough to see the sunrise

It's an inexpensive onsen hotel, so you do get what you pay for, and keeping that in mind it does the job. There were some stains on the futon bedding (which had obviously been washed before our stay but clearly hadnt washed out) I'd have liked some directions on how to properly lay out the futon bed as we very much guessed it based off of some youtube videos. Walls are thin, and we had a really loud group of friends in the room beside us. If you can't sleep with noise, then bring some strong ear plugs

The outdoor onsen was amazing! Staff is great, and the rooms have everything you need: storage space, a table, cushions and a wash basin, as well as a tea table and two chairs. The decor to enter the room is actually quite nice, and the building itself definitely has a historic charme. In the common areas you can use a micro wave and electric kettle. . We had no complaints about cleanliness at all! Location-wise, it is very easy to reach by bus and train which are running frequently. If you have a Hakone Free Pass, it's very easy to move around, explore, and then come back to quietly relax at the Onsen ;)

Only a 5 minute walk from Ohiradai station so quite accessible. Owner speaks pretty good English so no problems there, This Ryokan is quite old but the room was spacious and clean There were 2 hot spring bathrooms downstairs which were pleasant. There were also 2 outdoor hot spring baths about 4 minutes walk from the Ryokan. my friends tried these and liked them. There is a convenience store and an alcohol store about 2 minutes walk away, Being so close to the Tozan mountain railway is great as you can get to many places in Hakone easily.

This Ryokan is old but exudes an authentic old Japanese atmosphere and is well priced so no complaints here.

Everything about this ryokan is great! Especially the onsen. Very nice onsen. Staff are very friendly. During our checkout it was raining, and they gave us umbrellas to use. I love the yukata in the room and you can also borrow some kimono in the lobby. The room we got (for 4 ppl) is very spacious. We had meals delivered for dinner from a nearby restaurant

The futon are regular futons and not that comfortable (but it's pretty standard) so I woke up with back pain. I could've used multiple futons and stacked them together but I got lazy lol. Not that big of an issue anyway

Just a short walk from Ohiradai station, this place was quiet, clean & offered a lovely traditional Japanese ryokan experience. The indoor & outdoor onsen were both delightful!

There are no meals available due to a lack of staff post-COVID. I just had snacks from the convenience store on the corner & didn’t look for other nearby options as it was just for one night.

4 different baths to try, including 2 outdoor amazing ones! They had a lot of colorful yukata to try on. Room was very spacious and we had access to all futons to make our own bed, so we could just stack as many as we wanted. 2 min from station Oohiradai which is very convenient.

Room has quite a few things that would need refurbishment like the doors, the walls and some furniture. But at least it gives an "authentic" vibe to the place. No food offered because of covid.

We loved the ryokan and onsen. It was really nice experience. They also had tea for us in the room. Authentic Japanese experience.

Shared bathrooms, and staff wasn’t flexible with check in times. We had to rush to get there before 7pm and skip another city visit. We also had to take our bags in the morning and drop at coin locker as they didn’t let us keep them till next day evening.

Great private onsens (2 outdoors and 2 indoors), friendly and helpful English speaking staff, big traditional room, stunning views on cherry blossom trees

Shops and restaurants are a bit further away from this ryokan, so we recommend short drive with a bus or train.

Very convenient location, 1 minute from bus stop and 2 minutes from station. Cozy traditional rooms, in-house private onsen as well as another outdoor private onsen, which is great if you have tattoos and also a different experience from the usual same-sex onsen/sento.

Nothing to do with the place itself, but the silly old Caucasian woman who went around from 9 p.m. knocking on doors and asking people to quiet down because she couldn't sleep.

Absolutely loved the authentic Japanese ambiance of the bedroom! The complimentary pajamas and green tea added such a thoughtful touch. Staying here truly felt like stepping into the Edo period, and the complimentary onsen was a delightful bonus to unwind in.

The owner felt a little bit distant towards foreign people
