Overall, it has a good location close to the station and it is very clean. I stayed in the female-only dorm and I really appreciated the attention to detail and care. The bed was spacious and comfortable, and there was a small locker to keep your belongings. In the common area they even provided hair dryers and straighteners. I would definitely recommend you to stay at this guesthouse if you’re traveling to hiroshima.

You must remember to bring a padlock for the locker next to the bed (although I think you may rent/purchase it from the hostel as well). Also, they store luggage in an open shelf close to the entrance, so I felt slightly uncomfortable leaving my valuables there.

The location and amenities were very nice. The staff spoke many languages including English, Mandarin and French. There was a small kitchen in the lobby area for guest. The quarters were decent sized and the place was kept in excellent shape as far as cleanliness and well stocked. A coin washer and dryer were also available for laundry and a large refrigerator in the lobby for all guests to use. Lobby was open prior to check in time and luggage could be stored in the lobby area before and after stay. One of the better places I stayed at in Japan for the value.

Some of the guests were not abiding with the rules, such as silent phones and slamming doors etc. Nothing to do with the place, just my misfortune. Earplugs will help prevent this and should be used.

We had a private room and the bed was the most comfortable one we had during our 1 month stay in Japan! That made up for the rather dark room (windows were facing inner walls). Great location close to the train station and nice Commonwealth area. Super clean and very friendly staff. I'd come back here any time!

Rather dark room due to windows facing inner walls. Besides, it was a shame that the cafeteria was closed all days (not sure why) since a lot of the adversiement centers around the great coffee and food pictures. The coffee was part of the reason to select this hostel (by that time, we had enough of starbucks;-)) They should at least put it on their websites if it is out of service.

The location was a 3 minute walk from the station with a convenience store right across the street. However, since trains don't go at night, the noise at night was very minimal. There was a small lockbox in each capsule that could fit a medium sized backpack (not a backpacking bag, but a regular backpack). Multiple outlets and a dimmable light in each capsule. The bedding was clean. The female dormitory had a small number of beds, which meant less people and less noise, so it was a very nice stay. The shared area (showers, toilets, vanities, small table) was very clean and well stocked.

The location of the Akicafw was amazing, close to the central train station and the street cars, but also 25mins walk to the Peace memorial etc. The beds were comfy and the staff were endlessly helpful.

There is limited social space, I went with my brother and we found it often difficult to find a place to sit and relax together. This was not helped as we had to get rooms in different dormitories. The lockers are also a bit small, located around the beds we found our large backpacks couldn't fit into the allocated lockers

Nice spot close to the train station. Stayed in the double room which was nice and comfortable. The kitchen and lounge is in the building beside. I liked there was a toilet for female only. The tram to go downtown and right outside the door.

People blow drying there hair and doing laundry late at night which was really loud, you hear everything in the rooms. Suggest maybe not allowing this after 10pm.

Everything from the staff to the facilities to the location were exceptional. I really appreciated the overall cleanliness of the building and the friendly smiles of everyone there.

I would have rated this stay a 10 but I had to take a point off for two reasons: #1 the fan for personal use beside the bed was COATED in dust. I’m talking a thick layer inside the entire fan enclosure (it’s a unit built into the side of the wall). I didn’t turn my fan on for fear of the dust going all over my bed. #2 one of the shower rooms on my floor smelled a bit dank, almost like a mold smell. The other smelled wonderful so hopefully just a localized issue.

An awesome, comfortable place to stay for visiting Hiroshima! Super conveniently located near the train station. The rooms themselves are quietly away from main busy streets. Inside the dorm rooms is quiet as well, guests are respectful of each other and of noise levels. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they seem to have a great sort of family-friendlyness with each other, which was nice to see. Everything was very clean, and the bathroom/shower facilities were very modern and nice. Washer and dryer in the main space outside the rooms, standard pricing.

It was really clean and honestly the cubicles felt more private than I thought. With a pair of ear plugs, I slept really well! The mattress was also pretty comfortable too (this is after a week or so of sleeping on futon.) The facilities were kept really clean and a staff member helped me carry my suitcase up the stairs. Also, I stayed in the women's dorm which I appreciated- it felt very safe and comfortable.

I wish there were an elevator, but as I said, a staff member helped me carry my bag up so it was pretty much fine. Otherwise, don't have any complaints!

Love the aesthetics, the toilet and place was very clean. Definitely cozy for a few nights rest, appreciate the little amenities given like then cotton buds etc. The cafe was also a nice place to chill and have dinner in the evenings. Highly recommend!

There wasn’t enough space for in the ladies dorm to store our luggage or hang clothes. Also the auto light feature could be quite annoying for those trying to sleep or sneak out in the evening for a quick toilet break :(
