Loved this guesthouse, we stayed in the dorm and it was very quiet (only 5 beds) and with plenty of space. The whole guesthouse was super clean, there are 3 showers and 3 toilets but they are more than enough because the guesthouse has a limited amount of guests (including the private rooms I would say max 10 people). The house is in traditional Japanese style, very well kept and taken care of!

Nothing specific I didn't like but if I have to mention something it would be the location, it's a bit far from the center so you always need to take a bus, although this basically works for Kyoto in general because things to see are kind of scattered here and there and walking from one to the other is hard.

Best place to stay in Kyoto by far!!!! The man running this place was an absolute sweetheart!!! He was so kind and hospitable and nervous to make everything perfect for us. We stayed in the mixed female dorm and it was amazing! Super comfortable extremely clean and efficient! The bathroom and shower were awesome as well! The indoor spaces, the kitchen, the living room, the small shrine it was all incredible!! We were offered some cookies, tea, coffee, and even earbuds for free too! 10/10, I would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to everyone!!

Everything was perfect!!

Place itself was beautiful. Japanese style. Room was very comfort and old-style but in perfect shape. Good place to meet new people and exchange experiences. Staff was very helpful and polite. Good English communication. Possibility to rent a bike on place.

It was far away from the city center. At night quite noisy from the street (but ears plugs were attached to the room). What I really regret is nobody told us about possibility of bike rent. We noticed that when we leaved the place.

Everything in this Guesthouse is exactly how and where is supposed to be. The Guesthouse it's full of books and traditional Japanese furniture that makes you feel at home. Furthermore, the owner himself keeps this place absolutely impeccable: from the organization of the flippers on the Genkan to the tidiness of the beds, everything in place! A nice plus is that there are very nice, cosy and cheap local restaurants in the neighborhood.

Wonderful guest house ! Owner is very kind, and the rooms are great, with towel available for shower, air conditioner and enough space for suitcases ! There are also common rooms to eat with others, and a bicycle rental service ! It's also pretty well located, in the north of Kyoto, not too far from everything, near a konbini, a supermarket, and a great onsen ! Thank you so much !!!

For people who have a sensitive back, beds can be a bit thin, but for me it was okay ! It was perfect! I will surely come back if I visit Kyoto again - after doing the Ohenro :)

The staff was really friendly and inviting. The guesthouse was cozy and I enjoyed the stay. They have a little outdoor seating area which was nice to enjoy a cup of tea.

The mattress was a bit worn out but still comfortable enough. Also the bathrooms were quite small but I didn't mind that too much. The location is not in the city centre and it always took around at least 30 mins to get to most places.

The guesthouse was cute and clean. The staffs are very nice and helpful, and the location is well connected with buses. The common room invites travelers to chill and meet up with others.

The bed is really hard to sleep in; unless you are used to sleeping on the floor, you might wake up with stiff back cuz the thin layer of ‘pillow’ doesn’t really count as mattress.

This was my third stay at this guesthouse since before the pandemic. The house is a very traditional, but a comfortable one. The owner, Kobayashi-san was very helpful. The guest house is very clean and tidy, with nice neighborhood. It can easily accessed by buses from Kyoto station. Thank you so much! PS: There is a delicious sushi place next to the house which opens up to 11 pm :).

The living room lights were turned off after 11 pm.

amazing! the place was BEAUTIFULL, very well kept and the owner was so nice! it really was a great stay. it’s not the most confortable in the sens that the bathroom is outside but that’s because it’s an old traditional house so there is so much charm to it! if you’re looking for a comfy hotel stay don’t stay here, but if you want a traditional authentic stay with a lovely owner this is for you!

thé location isn’t the best, if you’re staying in Kyoto long it’s great because the neighborhood is really nice and great to discover but if you’re doing a short stay, it’s too far from the central tourist areas

This was my third stay at this guesthouse since before the pandemic. It can easily accessed by buses from Kyoto station. The house is a very traditional, but a comfortable one. The owner, Kobayashi-san was very helpful. The guest house is very clean and tidy, with nice neighborhood. The stairs to upper-bed in female dormitory was very wide and safe. It was nice, and does feel like staying at a lower-bed. Thank you so much! PS: There is a delicious sushi place next to the house which opens up to 11 pm :).
