I liked this hotell a lot, it was quiet and comfy, staff was great and the breakfast good. Everyone got a bed to sleep in (no sofa) and the pillows was okay, not to hard or soft. I thought the sound from the train station would be louder considering it is located within crawling distance (almost) but I sleept like a baby, so the location is fantastic if you plan to go on a day trip with the JR/Buss. Kyoto is a city for students, temples and tradition so there is a ton of stuff you can do/see so a place close to the central station is a must.

I don't think there is anything to complain about (only stayed one night though).

The location was perfect as it was walking distance to Kyoto Station. All staff members were helpful and nice. Great selection in toiletries from hair elastics, tooth brushes and tooth paste, wash cloths, Q Tips, brushes, cotton etc. Umbrellas available upon request at reception for rainy days. Decent size buffet in the morning with a mix of Japanese and Western food items.

Although it is a given that Japan is very small and condensed, I found the rooms to be a bit small. There was storage for our bags under the bed, but things were tight on getting things in and out. I also found we never got a room with a view. We were often looking at the side of the building beside us. With no sunlight getting into the room and having the room be small, I felt a bit claustrophobic. Although this chain of hotels seems fine when it comes to location, toiletries, friendly staff, I chose not to pick it again as I was done with the size of the rooms.

close to train station, markets restaurant shopping districts close by. I made my reservation in last minute due to my prior reserved hotel was a disaster... Apa hotels are always match my expectations, they are clean well equipped, located well, and prices reasonable even in sakura season... Apa rooms are always small but decorated/designed in smart fashion. So you are not paying unnecessary money for empty space. You will find everything you need in the room. Comfy bed, enough size bath necessarry equipments disposable materials {shawing, tooth paste etc} fridge tv kettle.....without going to luxury direction (: Overall score is 8. If we consider price/performance ratio@kyoto, then my score is 9 :) Staff is helpful and very very kind, and they can also serve in english well.

nothing.

There was a great variety of different food items for breakfast. As a European, I appreciated finding sweet options like croissants and cocoa. I also liked the availability of hygiene and cosmetic products at the reception. The onsen, included without extra cost, was very nice and relaxing, especially since it was my first time experiencing this type of bath. The hotel allowed me to leave my luggage for free after check-out, which was convenient for exploring the city and picking them up in the evening. The elevators were efficient at all times of the day, which is rare in the hotels I stayed at during my trip to Japan.

My room had a view of a parking lot. I wished to stay two more nights at this establishment, but it was not possible, so I had to switch hotels while staying in the same city.

The hotel can be easily accessed from the train station. There are plenty of food options and convenience store downstairs. Hotel staff were friendly and check-in process is a breeze.

Just a few minor and not so important ones. - There is a weird smell when I entered the hotel, not sure if it's from the food or something. Maybe installing air fresheners might help. - Will be good if there are more hangers during cold season because of the number of layers and jackets we are wearing. - The hotel is a little old. Carpets on the floor were peeling, and the design is slightly dated. Other than these, nothing else that I dislike of.

The location is excellent as it is next to Kyoto station and Kyoto tower. The breakfast selection was quite good. The WIFI (as usual in Japan) free and fast. The staff was really friendly and very helpful with various requests.

This hotel is a typical Japanese business hotel - that means that the rooms are just big enough to fit a bed in and don't expect to have much space in the bathroom. As the hotel is very close to the main railway station you can hear the train noises. The ventilator in the bath room wouldn't stop, so that added some extra level of noise. - Good ear plugs can fix that.

The location was excellent the rooms were clean but small the staff were excellent we didn’t eat there so not sure about the meals. It was in walking distance from the train station and the hop on hop off bus which we like to use. All in all a very good experience. Thank you

The size of the room was very small to what we’re used to . Other wise there wasn’t a lot wrong with our stay. The bathroom was adequate the water pressure was very good the pillows were a little bit hard but seems the same at other places we’ve stayed.

Loved the location - near Kyoto main station. The room was clean and brightly lit and the in-room television programming was good. The staff were helpful and I like the baggage check system that uses a QR code to lodge and retrieve baggage. Overall a great place to stay!

Being a standard Japanese business-class hotel, the room size was not big, but this is to be expected particularly given the good location and the price point. But overall for the price and location its hard to beat!

While the room was small, the layout is efficient, the small amenities were kept in order and good quality( for example, brush in toothbrush was wide enough and felt smooth, toothpaste also was not sandy, lots of hooks in the room, body wash liquid was easy to wash away, unlike in more expensive hotels). Breakfast offered many but right amountof options. Front desk staff were very helpful.

Maybe provide a small folding chair with multiple purpose( chair and small table?).

This hotel was just minutes away from Kyoto station, which made traveling very convenient. You could get the local bus or local train, and of course there’s the Shinkansen. The room was very clean and the hotel conveniently had a microwave oven on the basement level. This was great because I typically bought stuff at the 7-11 located half a block away from the hotel, stored it in the fridge in the room and then heated it up when I was ready for it.

I’m 5’5” and I found the washroom to be a bit cramped. I’m not sure if the washrooms are bigger in the rooms designed for more than one person, but if you’re tall, you WILL be uncomfortable.
