The hotel is situated in the traditional neighborhood of Sannenzaka, just a small walk to Kyomizudera. There are many souvenir shops around, food stalls and sweets, so there are plenty of options for a quick bite. Even after they close at 18:00( yes quite early), there is a convenience store just a couple of minutes away. There is also microwave at the lobby where you can heat up food and eat it in your room or at the lobby tables. The room itself was spotless and spacious for Japanese standards. The bathroom was equipped with a new age toilet ( the one we all love) and shower products. I really liked the bed, which was very firm, but if you don’t, you can ask for a topper or extra pillows. If you want to go the center of the town or to the train station, there is a bus stop just a minute away. Finally, the people at the reception were the stars of this hotel. Very polite, friendly and helpful, ready to accommodate our every need. They will also store your luggage, if you have a late flight and give you cookies when you check out!

The wifi on the 3rd floor was quite bad😢

Convenient location to Kiyomizu temple and the district leading up to the temple. Easy access to public transport (bus route down the road). There were English speaking staff that helped with our smooth check-in in. They also offered luggage delivery servi, es so we had ours shipped to this location and used their shipping services to ship it to our next location. Ground floor had amenities needed, including free warm/cold drinks from their dispenser. Comfort wise for the room - spacious and had everything you needed. Beds are firm however wasn't too much of an issue for us. Washing machine and dryer available upstairs to use as well. Would stay here again if we come back to Kyoto!

- Room: Super spacious and clean! - Location: Bus stop that connects to Kyoto station is 5 mins away. There are 2 rental kimono shops right beside the hotel. There is udon/shave ice restaurant located in front of the hotel. 15 min walk to the Yasaka pagoda. Great location because it's located near the bottom of the hill so you won't be hauling your luggage for a long time to get to the hotel. - Staff: Super nice and helpful! They gave us a parting cooking gift on check out. And they even asked if we had an umbrella when it was raining (super thoughtful staff!) - Ammenities: The terrace is awesome, especially on a sunny afternoon looking at Kiyomizu-dera. The drink machine had a very tasty lemon water drink haha. All in all, great hotel and would stay again! Thank you Terrace Kiyomizu!

- The laundry area is located on the terrace floor. At night, the terrace is not well lit (the surrounding area is pitch black too), so it was "creepy" to do laundry at night. There are security cameras in the terrace however. - The bus stop nearest the hotel is always PACKED going to and from the hotel (tourists). This isn't the hotel's fault but it's something to keep in mind if you'll be using the bus with big luggages.

Hotel: was clean, cozy, quiet, spacious and decorations was lovely. Amenities was perfect as well Location was too far from subway. Only dislike because we are not familiar with the bus. Summary. Super highly recommend it. We were so sad to leave. We loved this place so much! The friendly and approachable staff were the highlight, they became like friends and were so helpful. Even the cleaning staff were so friendly. Excellent location, right in the heart of historical Kyoto, the value was incredible. Just a short walk to Kiyomizu Dera temple, and lots of cafes around. A family mart is just 10 mins away. The rooftop view is just beautiful at night and the rooms are so very clean. We loved this place so much! We want to stay here again!

The room was more spacious than we expected, compared to other places we had stayed in Japan. It was clean and the bathroom was modern with a nice bath. The hotel had a nice rooftop terrace with views over Kyoto. There was a drinks machine in the lobby which was free to use. Staff were friendly and accommodating and let us check in slightly early. You can leave your luggage there before or after check in if needed.

The bed was quite firm. The hotel was located on a road that can get very busy with coaches during the day.

The room, the hotel, the location, everything was just stunning! It exceed a lot our expectations (that were already high). Right next to Kiyumizudera and Gion we had the privilege to walk on the most amazing streets every time we got out. The staff was the nicest and the room was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. Definitely recommend it! Plus the rooftop has an amazing view, especially if you go there at sunrise or sunset.

It is very simple but very nice hotel in very interesting Japanese manners. The lobby is decorated by yukata (cottons kimono) and paintings. You can spend time with cap of coffee from coffee machine and read Japanese manga. They have small library in the lobby. The staff is very nice and friendly. The room facilities is nice. And very good location. It takes just 15 minutes to Kiyomizu temple by walk. There are a lot of Souvenirs shops, ice cream kiosks and kimono rental shops. You definitely feel that you in Kyoto. Also we received cookies as a compliments. Thank you so much!

There is no breakfast in this hotel. But we were recommended to visit coffee shop with traditional Kyoto style coffee.

i’ve just been here with my best friend for three nights, the staff was so amazing! they helped us with every little thing. the hotel is 4 min walk for one of the major sightseeing sites: kiyomizu dera temple, which brought tears to my eyes. best to visit at sunset. walking distance around 3 minutes are the main old kyoto streets that you see in pictures, full of food shops and souvenir stores. distance walk from gion and other major sites is 10-15 minutes. it’s a very quiet area for the night so if you are looking for food after eight walk towards gion because there is nothing around. the hotel has a smoking area and a nice rooftop with a laundery that we used. staff beyond helpful, helped us book a taxi two days in a row at 5 am and was avaialble for all our needs.

Talk about above and beyond. The staff really took care of us it was so sweet they really went the extra mile to make our honeymoon memorable. You are located basically at kiyomizu and there's train stations near you too. Lots of options. There is good coffee places nearby too! Bring walking shoes. The rooms were fantastic too and very comfortable. The laundry facilities are great and the rooftop is magical
