We stayed in the room layout with the bunk bed as a group of 4 friends. It was so comfortable, spacious, and functional. The beds were also comfortable, each person had their own privacy, and check-in/check-out process was easy. There is even a shuttle bus to the hotel from Kyoto station check-in counter which is <5min walk from central gate exit.

More clothing hangers

Spacious hotel, comfortable bed, tower and bed linen are clean. Location is a bit far from the city centre, but since I am driving, it is no problem to me.

It was a quiet wet around the corridor on our first day of arrival, not sure if it was caused by heavy rain. It seemed to have improved on the second day. Other than that, everything seems to be in good order.

Clean, comfortable, well maintained facilities. Excellent customer service except for check-in procedure.

Check-in procedure that required guests to go to offsite Reception Office. We had to haul all of our six luggages to their downtown location before being let in. This hazzle could have been avoided if they incorporated this extra step in pre-check in procedure before arriving in Japan.

The room was a great size for a family of 5 (2 teens and a toddler). Having a washing machine in the room, which also had laundry pods, was super handy. The location was amazing, short stroll to whatever we needed and wanted to do. We also hired a car for the 8 nights we were in Kyoto, the public car park is pretty much next door and very cheap. Having a smoking room in the lobby was an added bonus!

The only thing I could fault was the cleanliness of the room. The walls could have a decent clean (lots of marks and they were dirty, but not gross). There were stains/marks on the lounge/futon. The bathroom and vanity could also have a deep clean.

The staff at the check-in desk were polite and helpful. Calm, peaceful location. The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The laundry was so useful and they provided enough laundry detergent pods for our stay. Umbrellas are available to borrow on the ground floor. Within walking distance to konbinis and grocery store. The Nohga hotel across the street offered delicious breakfast.

There were four of us sharing a room so there weren't enough hangers and hooks to dry our clothes. It is a long walk to train stations (I didn't mind). There was an issue getting Netflix to work on the projector so we didn't use it. Couldn't figure out how to turn the bathroom fan off (or maybe it was the shower fan).

This is our second stay with Resistay. We booked 2 apartments and it was very nice of the reception to arrange our apartments next to each other. This time we stayed for 9 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with all the amenities, suitable for family vacation. The washing machine is a plus for long stays. Location is near to to many places of interest like Kiyomizu temple, as well as convenient store like Family Mart, 711, Lawson. Easily accessible by taxi, train (Keihan Railway) and buses. There are some nice café around the quiet street at the back of the apartment and nice restaurants along the main street. We really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to many more Resistay.

Very well organised check in that provided clear and detailed information along with great advice on places to visit. The transfer to the property was a real help. The property provided us with a great base from which to explore Kyoto. It was well placed for accessing a range of sights and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. Our room was clean, comfortable and provided a good range of amenities. We would stay here again.

Our room on floor 2 looked onto a flyover. But we acknowledge that this is part of being in a city.

Spacious room!!! Needed the space for kids & luggages. Our bunk bed was comfy. Netflix was great for nights in room w kids. The washing machine was a great help for our family. The dryer function is actually inside the bathroom but was easy to use. Might need to have a few more hangers if you have a lot of clothes to dry/hang.. The shuttle buses from their reception counter to our apartment was very helpful on check in day with the many luggages. We also use the shuttle to go back to our apartment when we finish our day at Kyoto station. Go to the reception counter & they will arrange for you. There's bus about 4-5min walk from our apartment but shuttle alights you right at the doorstep. Very convenient place to go Kiyomizu dera (abt 10min walk to reach there). So we actually went there early morning to skip the crowd. Nearest convenience shop was Lawson. But if you walk towards 7-11 direction, you will come across a yummy ramen store & takoyaki. Can buy takeaway too. We did luggage forwarding at 7-11, smooth road to push the luggages (successfully did it and it was a rainy day) just cater 2days delivery to be safe.

Would be nice to have more hangers. Would be even better to have shuttle service on check out day. Couldnt take buses with the luggages and end up a long journey via subway

Spacious compared to Japanese standards. Beds were large and comfortable. Good bathroom and toiletries, though if you are not familiar with how to use Japanese washing machines, I’d recommend not using the one onsite and opting for a local was and dry service (if you can find one), or laundry mat (there are several 24 hour ones in Kyoto that cater to travelers). Used the washing machine and was confused thinking it would dry the clothes was well (it didn’t, just did the spin dry), so heads up on that. The instructions for picking up the keys from the property management company across from Kyoto station were super clear, but the shuttle to the property doesn’t begin service until 2 PM, so heads up on that as well. You can still conveniently store your luggage at the property in a luggage storage room (has luggage locks for use) until check-in time. Be sure to read ALL of the instructions they give you when you pick up your keys—everything is pretty clear. This is basically a self check-in hotel, so no service-staff onsite, but they do have a receptionist you can dial from the front lobby when you have questions. It’s in a solid location and we were able to comfortably walk to key sections in the Hygashima district, but Gion and further out, you probably want to catch a taxi if you’re time constrained. Also, taxis are reasonably priced in Japan. Uber is basically the taxi system—they are not outrageously priced like in the U.S.

N/A—it satisfied our comfort and needs—appreciate that the television had Netflix, so we were able to veg after a long day of site seeing and travel experiences.

The extremely accommodating and supportive staff (special shoutout to Mr. Hassan), the comfort, space, and cleanliness of the lodging. We also love the fact that there was an iron and ironing board that we get to use without any problems. We also loved the informative brochures, maps, and information book provided in the room. It also had a peaceful ambiance.

We are so thankful for the shuttle bus service from the reception counter going to the actual lodging. However, it would have been a plus if there was also a shuttle service from the lodging back to the reception counter where Kyoto Station is nearby, especially when the weather was drizzling.
