Nice place that allows you to pay for breakfast only when you need it. Coffee machine, printer free of charge in lobby with a vending machine with basic drinks as well. Room with microwave and washing machine.

Room did not have any cupboard or drawers. This together with small bin results in quite a mess especially due to all the plastic garbage Japanese generate. The temperature could be more in our control since one day they just switch to heating and your AC wont work since (end of October). The TV turns on automatically when you enter the room and therefore it is annoying.

Great position, easy to reach major sites by foot. Good buffet breakfast, mainly salty. Quite big room compare to Japanese standards

Room cleaning once a week. But towels and trash every day

I liked the location very close to markets ,restaurants, and subway. The breakfast was very organised with a variety of food, mainly Japanese but also toast and jam, eggs and ham, juices and yoghurt with fresh fruits. The staff was helpful and friendly at all the time, they welcome us with complimentary toothbrushes, a selection of teas, hear pads, comb, sponge, and other bits. All day, free coffee from the machine it was great to have. The room was clean, and the mattress was very comfortable, I was so happy to find 3 big bottles for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash instead of the usual tiny little bottle. In the room there is also a washing and dryer machine ,just amazing.

I can't find anything that I didn't like it.

Room size.

Some staff were very polite and will always greet you. But another group doesn't bother to even look at you when you are going out or returning to the hotel. Not usual Japanese hospitality. Our treatment at tokyu stay shinjuku previously was excellent. 1 cleaning for 7 night stay is too few.

Situated at a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. We slept soundly throughout the stay. We were allocated a room at the Annex building, which was only a few steps away from the main building. The comfort twin room was spacious!! We were able to open our luggages at the same time and still have room to roam around. The breakfast was a spread of traditional Japanese cuisine and a bit of western. Just right to our liking. Has 7-eleven and Starbucks nearby. Nishiki Market was just about 2-3 blocks walk away.

I thought the hotel was in a good location. I was within walking distance of the Nishiki Market and public transit. The hotel is only 3 stops from Kyoto Station on the metro. Breakfast was adequate. I thought the room was rather spacious, for what it was.

They only clean the room once every 6 days, but they will change your towels and take out your trash daily. You can't control the temperature in your room. I was at least able to turn the heat off and open the window but it was very hot in my room. The window to my room was frosted so I couldn't get natural daylight without opening the window.

Location was perfect for sightseeing in Kyoto, within walking distance to a lot of sights/shops/restaurants and very close to trams and buses. Room was comfortable - perhaps a bit smaller than we expected from the pictures but still enough room for two people with one large suitcase. Hotel front desk staff all very helpful and friendly. Air conditioning nice and cool which we needed in the summer heat! It was all very good I think.

There was a woman in the restaurant attached to the hotel who was quite rude to us when we arrived. We were confused and accidentally ended up entering through the restaurant and she started yelling at us to get out. I felt it was an easy mistake to make as there was no signposts outside indicating which was the restaurant versus which was the hotel front desk. Not the best start but a minor thing - I understand we made a mistake but there was no need for her to be so aggressive towards us. We didn't feel comfortable availing of the option for breakfast because if this as we didn't want to go back in there.

Good location in the central area, convenience shops were easy to found in nearby areas and there were also interesting shops to visits. The room was bigger than we thought about, facilities were more up-to-date, the extra bonus was we have a washing machine inside of the room pairing with detergent so we can do laundry when we need! Stuff were friendly and always tried to help.

Checkin time was late (after 3pm) so we had to wait and there were smells in the toilet so we feel maybe the cleanliness might need to improve. We got instructions on restricted room cleaning everyday, not sure if the hotel support full cleaning during the stay.

Absolutely loved this hotel! Clean, spacious, modern and everything was perfect! My favorite hotel in Japan so far. The bed was comfy and room was huge with a sofa at the side and a small kitchen with some tools and a washer/dryer machine! It’s quite and the lobby is beautiful. Free coffee and amenities for grabs at the hotel lobby. Staff was friendly too. It’s located in a quiet alley but not too far frm the metro. There’s also Mcdonalds and Lawson / 7eleven nearby and free water and ice filling station. Tokyo Stay is amazing.

Everything was superb.

Good location and value for money. Although there wasn’t any daily cleaning if you stay for leas than 6 nights, I liked that they provide coffee/tea from day until late night (self service) through a machine and you can get extra amenities that you need. Staff was also helpful and kind. My parents also liked the fact that there was also a microwave and washer/dryer machine in the room.

The rooms are not that big. But if you don’t have a lot of bags, the space is completely doable. Bank for buck generally speaking so even without the daily cleaning, it’s ok.
