POSITION. The hotel is very well served by public transport with which it is easy to reach the imperial palace and the main temples of the city. And, if you want to take an easy walk (walking on flat ground), in about 20 minutes you can reach the train station to the south or some of the main attractions to the north-east (the Gion district, Pontocho street, the Nishiki market) . BREAKFAST: well-assorted buffet, both continental and traditional Japanese. During our five-day stay we alternated between one and the other and never got bored. ROOM: adequately sized for us (2 adults + 2 large suitcases + 2 normal backpacks). We even managed to wash a couple of t-shirts in the bathtub and put them to dry and the room didn't fill up with humidity (which has happened to us elsewhere). STAFF: not everyone speaks English, but with a little effort you can communicate.

Hotel is close to Gojo station- 3 min walk away. It's got a 24-hour supermarket across the road, a 7-11 next door. Best of all eateries nearby, including a Macdonald's. The hotel is updated in design, very well maintained (both common spaces and rooms). Loved the 'welcome drinks' which is at the 1st storey, which guests can help themselves to (hot and drinks dispenser) from 10am onwards until 11pm. Many hotel guests were just chilling out at the 1st storey dining area in the evenings. There's washing machines and dryers on the 2nd floor. And the common bath areas on the 2nd floor too. The room was great. The family room I booked had a larger TV and a smaller one which was great as the smaller one could be used for video games while we watched something else on the larger TV. I would come here again when I come back to Kyoto.

Nothing! I have nothing to fault it. Some might say the hotel is in between Kyoto Station and Shijo (main street), but I personally liked the fact it's accessible to both areas (which is just 1 train stop away really, so no sweat) and yet itself located in a quiet and calm area, which is well-needed I feel after a day's travelling.

Very close to the subway. The rooms are clean and the staff are competent. Check in and left luggage services were a breeze. Breakfast was simple but nice and adequate. There are restaurants near the hotel and it is very close to Shijo-dori by bus. Kamogawa is close by for those who like to go for a morning run.

The hot bath was extremely clean and relaxing. The rooms were very clean and modern. The hotel breakfast was buffet style and was delicious with a combo of traditional Japanese foods and some American foods. The staff shipped our bags to our next hotel and were overall very helpful. 3 minutes walk to the bus and train station.

I enjoyed everything.

1. The environment is relatively quiet. 2. The breakfast is excellent, with a Japanese-style touch. 3. The bathing facilities are very comfortable, featuring hot and cold baths. 4. It is very close to the subway station. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Kyoto Station. 5. The hotel is right next to a 7-11 store.

The room is a bit small.

Having easy access to a washing machine made the trip effortless. The large variety of breakfast foods was perfect for my tastebuds as it was fresh and delicious. The public bath was a novel experience for me but I am glad that I went and experienced it as it the perfect temperature perfect for relaxing.

Centrally located, extras included such as happy hour drinks, kids snacks, ramen at night, free rental bikes and storage of luggage. Late check out til 2pm for 3,000 yen.

Concierge booking service for activities would be helpful in busy times.

Great location, walking distance from Kyoto station as well as from several main attractions of Kyoto such as Nishiki market and both Sanneizaka and Gion areas. The breakfast was ok, it had both japanese and western breakfast options. The staff was friendly and very polite. There was free coffee and tea available all day.

Rooms were larger than expected. Reception staff were very nice. The laundry & other facilities were great. Loved the private baths.

Beds are smaller than expected and not comfortable.

Public bath is good and equipped with all the toiletries. Location is convenient, near to Gojo subway station and eateries. The buffet style breakfast is excellent. Welcome drinks is fantastic.

Bed is small for 4 persons. Room is not very spacious.
