Best food on our trip - the host catered two delicious veggie meals for us with an amazing variety of japanese food in a beautiful tatami room. Still dreaming of it! The private onsen was a blast and our tatami room had cute chairs, traditional clothing to wear in the guesthouse and comfortable futons. They picked us up at the train station and drove us directly to the monkey park. Getting back from there by bus was easy. We were also driven to the train station next morning.

Generous hosts, we arrived before check in and they transported our luggage from the train station to yhe accommodation while we explored Yudanaka. The onsen were both private and the larger one was especially beautiful and peaceful. We chose to book in for one of the dinners here and it blew us away - incredible! Delicious seasonal ingredients and many courses. We also booked in for a breakfast one morning too, which was also delicious. Our room was so comfy and came with kimono for us to enjoy. The hosts also transported us to the Monkey Park one day, which was very easeful and efficient for us - we enjoyed a big day of walking and saw what felt like hundreds of freely roaming macaques snow monkeys ! Loved this accomodation. Would definitely come back.

This place is beautiful. The owners are so helpful and friendly and really give you a true insight into life as a local. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and kept warm. The location is great, just a short walk to restaurants and the local brewery. The owners drove me and my friend to the Monkey Park and the train station, even in the heavy snow. The breakfast is delicious and the dinner they offer is a MUST!! The onsen is the perfect way to warm up and relax after a day exploring and they have all the amenities you need. The owners cannot do enough for you and really want you to have the best experience with them. I completely recommend this place to stay.

We loved our stay in this traditional Japenese Ryokan. We used the private onsen both nights, it was so relaxing! We were very grateful to the owners who picked us up from the station and dropped us off too. They also drove us to see the snow monkeys early one morning which we really appreciated as we were one of the first ones at the park-highly recommended. They also gave me a little birthday gift as we left. We also booked the dinner one night and there were many delicious courses! Would recommend to come to this experience v hungry in order to eat everything on offer!

We weren't super keen on the shared bathrooms, we would have preferred the private one but they were booked up for the nights we stayed. Price of dinner was a little higher than expected considering how cheap the food has been elsewhere on our trip, but there was A LOT of food to be fair and it was a great experience. Definitely check the price first if on a budget. The owners seemed to be juggling a lot between cooking and driving the guests as well as cleaning etc, we felt they could have done with extra assistants to help with this.

Extremely nice ryokan. We were picked up at the station and taken to the Monkey park by the couple owning the ryokan. They then brought the luggage back to the hotel. We had lunch at Enza café next to the monkey park. Very nice meal and apple icecream. We were a bit worried that there would be no monkeys but the place was full of monkeys of different sizes. Amazing to see. We would recommend the kaiseki meal for yen 6000 per person in the evening at the ryokan. It was not just a meal, but an experience. Also nice onsen at the hotel. The one with a view is the best of the two. Private use. Breakfast was great. We were dropped of at the station by the owners of the ryokan. Very friendly couple. We also forgot a cardigan which they informed us of and then sent it to us to one of the next hotels on our trip. We would definitely go back!

Absolutely nothing.

So much kindness from the moment we booked until the moment we checked out. As a matter of fact, our dear host stood in the middle of the street until our car turned the corner - the sweetest! Spending time at the onsen was an unique experience, me and my partner felt an immediate sense of relaxation. Another highlight was the food. We arranged beforehand with the hosts to have one dinner and one breakfast and it was a beautiful immersion on true Japanese eating. There were some ingredients I had never seen in my life, everything so delicious and beautifully prepared. I am a celiac so for me eating is always something a bit stressing, to guarantee the food is glutenfree, but in that case they made it so smooth and easy and had many alternatives for me to try Japanese food regardless of my condition. They were always very kind and responsive. I totally recommend this place. Thank you.

Everything, we were so warmly welcomed. You can tell immediately they take great pride in hosting and providing a wonderful place to visit. The place is spotlessly clean, our room was large, comfortable and we had beautiful robes fresh every day for the Onsen. The Onsens are private and a great spot to relax before dinner. We had the special dinner and it was delicious and extremely generous with so many dishes. Breakfast was as equally as generous with thoughtful preparation, especially as my partner didn’t eat fish they went to great lengths to provide something. They were very kind by driving us to the train station and to visit the snow monkeys. We had a wonderful time here.

This was an amazing cultural experience. The lady was very welcoming and made sure we had a pleasant stay by cooking amazing meals and breakfast. We had the normal meal on the first evening and a vegetarian meal on the second evening while wearing the yukata's that were provided. Both meals were fantastic. The area is quiet and beautiful. At the snow monkey park we saw three monkeys, which was a nice surprise since it wasn't very cold that day. We enjoyed the onsen. The smaller one is hot but very nice once you get used to it. If you're planning to visit the snow monkeys we definitely recommend staying at yudanaka yasuragi for an amazing japanese stay.

We travelled around areas of Japan and stayed in multiple accommodations and this was our favourite! The hosts were so lovely and despite there being no snow monkeys when we arrived they still met us at the station to take our luggage so we could go and explore. We were ready to set off on our own the next day but there were monkeys and the host was waiting to tell us and to drive us there so we didn’t miss them! I couldn’t recommend the home cooked meal more. Best meal of our whole time in Japan. Delicious! Huge rooms, lots of amenities and the Onsen was amazing! They even provided a baby onsen for our baby, so thoughtful! Also great location for exploring. Take a walk back from the monkeys as you pass through cute villages. Use the cable car to go up the mountain to Soba terrace!

The staff warmly welcomed us and offered shuttle service from the train station to the snow monkey park, then from the hotel to the train station. They have a print out of the timetable of all trains departing to Nagano, which was very helpful. We took the option to dine in the hotel, and it was the best decision ever. The Japanese style dinner was delicious, especially the beef. The onsen is very nice, and you can use it privately, so my fiancé and I could bathe in the same onsen. Although it is a Japanese style room and you sleep on a futton, it was very comfortable.
