It certainly met my dreamy story-book notion of living on top of a Japanese bakery! It is a small boutique inn located along a charming pedestrian street lined with a few other cozy little cafes & shops selling souvenirs & pretty art pieces. We enjoyed the complimentary cookies & the simple breakfast of salad & a thick slice of pillowy shokupan bread with your choice of scrambled eggs, strawberry jam or red beans. Location is ideal - about 2-3 minutes walk from the Nara Kintetsu train station & a 20-minute walk from the Nara Deer Park. Once you step through the squeaky entrance door into the warmth of the cozy lobby & dining area, you are greeted by friendly staff who can speak English. While the room is basic, it is clean, cheerful, comfortable & big enough to fit our family of 4 with 4 carry-on luggage opened up. We also appreciated the luggage storage service & being able to borrow the hotel umbrellas, so that after check-out, we could further spend our slightly rainy day exploring beautiful Nara.

Location is optimal, 15 minutes walking from the Nara JR station (2 minutes from the Kintetsu Nara) and 10 minutes walking in another direction to the Nara park and main temples. Room is simple but super clean and has everything we needed. Breakfast is tasty, completely different from other breakfasts we had in other hotels. French style, the ground floor is basically a café, people come here to have breakfast and lunch. The things from their bakery (cookies, cakes) are very tasty. The hotel is on the pedestrian street with plenty of other restaurants and cafes, Nara food village. Across the street you have even more restaurants and souvenir shops. Staff is very friendly, speaking English is not a problem at all.

The room was spacious with a lounge. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was compact and had a slightly high step to access. The water pressure was great. Breakfast was nice. Laundry and dryer are available at great rates. The location was perfect. Close to Nara Park, but on the quiet side of the station. Staff helpful. They offer bike hire which we did. It offered us opportunities to see more of Nara than just the Deer Park and surrounding Temples. Another bonus was that you could open the window in your room for some fresh air

Absolutely nothing.

- Room was big and spacious for a solo traveller. - Staff spoke great English and gave great recommendations in attractions and restaurants. - The free breakfast was delicious - also very appetising and filling! - Location was strategic as Kintetsu-Nara Station, F&B and convenient stores, and Nara Park were all within walking distance. - Hotel Wi-Fi was strong. - Didn't expect a coin laundry and dryer in the hotel. Got to clean my clothes at an affordable price. - Vending machine in the hotel is a plus!

Nothing much I didn't like, but if I were to nitpick; - The automatic toilet seat can be updated. - Nothing else I didn't like. Would definitely stay here again if I have the chance. Superb place!

Simple but tasty breakfast. The fifth-floor terrace was a nice addition, providing a pleasant outdoor space. Convenient location, with the added benefit of being in a quiet area. Within walking distance to Nara Park, allowing for easy exploration. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Luggage storage service was available, which was helpful.

A few minor issues to note. The early checkout time of 10:00 was inconvenient, especially when considering the late check-in time of 15:00. It leaves guests wondering what the hotel does during the intervening hours. The mattress and pillows were found to be uncomfortable and a bit too firm for personal preference. While not a criticism, the hotel's use of the term "Bakery" may create different expectations in various locations, potentially misleading guests.

Location was a dream. Literally 200 metres from the train station! Staff were very attentive and let us leave our bags with them while we went for a stroll seeing as we arrived well before check in. It was close to all the facilities we wanted to explore and even included a FREE breakfast in the bakery, which we weren't expecting! Excellent value for money. Room was on the smaller side but we only wanted somewhere to sleep so it was perfect for us. Thoroughly recommend this place!

The Location of the hotel is good for going to Nara Park or the Temple with the great Buddha Hall. The breakfast is good, though were still not sure why you can't order the ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast and just the Breads with different toppings (jam, beans, butter, egg). The room is very small if you travel with big suitcases but it works. The Bathroom is also good but very small. The famous Mochi maker and a good Street for souvenirs and dining is also very close.

The rooms are, in fact, small.

The hotel is very nice. Great location. The staff speaks English. Everything was clear, they instructed me about anything. They also agreed to store my luggage after check-out. Loved the breakfast.

The air conditioning was just under the bed and even if I set it to warm temperature, it was blowing on me, while I was sleeping, if I don't turn it completely off. Also I expected there would be an iron, but I'm not sure if it was said in the description.

Great Hostel right at the gate to all the places you want to see in Nara. Also just a really short walk to Kintetsu Nara Station. Rooms are quiet and beds are stable. Clean shower and toilet. Breakfast included and I really like it. One big toast with a topping of choice, delicious salad and a drink.

only negative I could say is that there is no 24 hours check-in and the lobby has lights out after 10. But these are really only minor points

The hotel is very close to the Kintetsu-Nara Station, and shopping streets in Nara, about a 3-5 minutes walk. Easy access to Nara Park, coffee shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The hotel staff are very friendly and nice, they let us check in earlier without us asking for it, which is very nice, especially in this hot and humid season. The included breakfast is nice as well.

The room is a little bit smaller than we expected, with a tiny window. But still, it is ok, we only spend a couple of hours there while sleeping. So not a big problem. :)
