It was as described. Easy to find, well positioned for first time visitors using public transport. It was lovely and clean and had facilities that I really liked such as a coffee machine in the lobby and selection of teas to use there or take to your room. Also a kettle and mini fridge in the room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is a seating area in the lobby where you can have a coffee or tea and plan your day etc, this is used for breakfast service ( we didn’t have breakfast but noticed several people were). There were some snacks offered in the afternoon/ evening which I thought was a lovely touch! We made use of the coin operated washer-dryer which was located on the same level as our room.

As others have commented the room was small in size, our bed was up against one wall but it wasn’t a problem really.

Location wa great. Walking distance to a few major subway stations and 20 min walk to the Tokyo station. Room was tiny but comfortable enough. We had a queen bed. Separate koodos that AC was working while you are not in the room - so you return to a cool room. Hotel has ice machine and luggage storage, so that's good.

Although hotel was nice, it looked nothing like on the pictures. The hotel has only one washer & dryer. Considering that one load takes 120 minutes, it's hard to catch the machine. Mattress was a bit firm to my liking, my back was hurting after 2 days. There was a mini fridge, but it didn't work properly - it was cooler in our room than in the fridge. For those traveling with a small child, there is no space to put your own travel crib (although it's an issue in most Tokyo hotels).

Our experience staying at the B Ochanomizu was great - truly a home away from home. At first, the location seemed a little far away from the attractions in Tokyo, however once we found our way to the nearest metro station (less than 500m from the hotel lobby), we soon found it to be a great central point for catching the subway to most of the popular tourist areas and activities. The hotel is also only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Akihabara shopping district. As for the rooms, it was our first time in Japan so whilst the rooms seemed quite small at first, we soon got used to them and found them to be quite comfortable. As a side note, I am told that the rooms are actually big by normal Tokyo accommodation standards! Despite being slightly worn in some areas, the rooms and general facilities were clean and well serviced. The best part of our stay was by far the friendliness of the staff, always willing to do that little extra to make our stay more comfortable. They even held our luggage while we visited Osaka and also assisted with some printing of travel documents - all free of charge. Thanks for helping to make our trip to Japan a memorable one!

It was just what we needed. Clean, close to the metro but also tucked away on a quiet street, the staff were friendly, we could do laundry, there was a large supermarket nearby. I would for sure stay here again. And the beds were great with two choices of pillow. I'm 1.85 meters and I slept great. The room was also what I'd, as a European, would call normal size, I was expecting a more compact room and found this relatively spacious.

My wife has food allergies so some more gluten free and lactose free options for breakfast would have been nice. But we had a mini fridge in the room and a supermarket nearby so it wasn't really an issue.

LOCATION: Great! Within 10min walk of Shinjuku Line, Marunouchi Line, Chuo Line. About 12 min walk to Kanda station with also services Ginza, Yamanote, and Keihin-Tohoku lines. Within 5min walk of 2 Family Marts for breakfast/atm. Within 5 min walk of two pharmacies (Welcia). Only 10min walk into Akiba. Mostly quiet area, VERY rarely hear an ambulance from nearby hospital, but it's muffled from nearby buildings. ROOM: Stayed in a "double room" (actually had QUEEN beds which was great, double-check your mattress sizes for this when booking). Bathroom clean, large bed, headboard space to put phones / charge. Standard smaller size room compared to western chains but suitcases fit under bed so it's not a big deal. Table+two seats, which was room for opening up suitcases when needed. Very thorough housekeeping service, changed out towels/garbage/amenities every day, and did a full room cleanup every 3 days (unless you put up the do not disturb sign). Air conditioning straight-forward if you can read JPN. If not, take a photo of the interface and send it through google translate; still straight-forward. Comfy pajamas/robes, nice material and not see-through. OTHER: Free coffee/cookies/snacks in the lobby depending on time of day, free travel-sized skincare/toiletries. Large bottles of shampoo/conditioner/liquid body soap in the shower. Vending machine inside hotel doesn't have a huge selection but there's about 20 more vending machines within a 2 minute walk of the hotel so just walk towards the Family Mart to the north. Did not do hotel breakfast bc family marts are nearby.

Quiet location one street from the station elevator entrance. Our Station was two stops from Tokyo and 6-7 to Shinjuku stations. Plenty of inexpensive breakfast options around even at 7am. Found a great dinner restaurant about 100m away called Tsujita Ramen. It was excellent. The staff were helpful and the washer dryer was new and very easy to operate. The room was small but functional. The bed was a bit firm for me but tolerable.

Upon entry to room it smelled like musty, mouldy carpet.

The location was fantastic. Just a few mins walk from the metro and is the direct line to Tokyo station. There is 24hrs drug store & convenient store nearby for a last min breakfast/supper. There was alot of restaurants surrounding the hotel as well, but we were not able to try. Might go and explore the next time. Room was clean and comes with all the amenieties you might need.

Since it was winter season when we visited, all rooms were central heated and could not be adjusted, so we had to open the window and kept the heating switched off. I guess it's a good thing for visitors who are afraid of the cold, but not for our party. Room size, is as per normal Tokyo sizing, small but enough space to move around with 2 large size luggages.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location - very convenient and close to major tune line stations which made exploring Tokyo very easy. Close to nice cafes and restaurants. Quite quiet area which again for us was a bonus to not be surrounded by noise and lot of people. Room was ok, bit tired but did the job - there was kettle, fridge, hairdryer etc. Bed was comfortable. The room was small but that's normal size in Tokyo and was not an issue for us.

It was quite stuffy in the room, there was an air con (we were here when they changed the setting from heating to cooling). In heating mode it was very hot, the cooling mode was pleasant and easier to control. Shame we could not open a window as it was stuffy and unfresh quite easily even with extractor in the bathroom on all the time. Our room had some old stains on chairs and was quite dusty.

Quiet area but very near several subway lines which made it convenient to go pretty much anywhere. There was a surprisingly good selection of restaurants less than a minute walk away in each direction. There's free coffee available all day at the lobby and some snacks in the middle of the afternoon.

The room was quite small, but understandable for Tokyo. No closet but at least there was space under the beds for our luggage. My biggest issue was AC temp; since we were there in December, the entire hotel's AC was actually in heater mode which I found too stuffy and even the lowest setting was too warm to use their duvets. Thankfully the windows opened, so I could let some cold air in periodically.

November 2023

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, allowing us to store our luggage before checking in and even putting them in our room after we got back from a day out. The room was perfectly suitable, beds were comfortable, has a window that opens. The breakfast was also good, although I wouldn't describe it as a buffet, more a set meal with a drinks buffet. They do offer free coffee at any time though. The bread at breakfast was excellent! Simple and lovely meal for a good price.

There were renovations going but we weren't affected at all, staff let us know what times there would be noise at check in. Also one thing to note was that there wasn't air-conditioning, which is why we had to open the window at all times. It got quite warm at night which wasn't preferred but we still slept well.
