Liked the quaintness of the building and its furnishings (Art Deco). The tatami-floored room I stayed in was very large, with antique furniture. Set breakfast was very good, with choice among American, Continental, or Japanese. Location near two different metro stops. Staff was very helpful.

Not many restaurants in the area (university area), but several bars for wine or craft beer (I did not eat dinner in any of the several hotel restaurants). Only a short walk to the metro and from there tons of places to go to eat.

Stayed here for the second time and it was as good as my first stay. The hotel was partially renovated since my last stay but the old world charm and elegance are maintained. Greeted by polite and professional staff and everyone from front desk to kind janitors were doing their best. Already missing my time here. The Japanese breakfast was lovely and delicious. Love all the authentic furniture in the room. Tokyo’s best hotel and a true gem.

The bar is currently closed on two consecutive days, namely Sundays and Mondays. Did not have the chance to go to the historical bar this time 🥲 will come back next time

Felt like you are staying in a grand old hotel of another era. A hotel with a great history. Very helpful staff, particularly the concierge! Beautiful architecture in side and out. Great location only a few stops from Tokyo Station and Ginza, walkable to Akihabara. Wonderful breakfast! Very cute bar!

It's great to have lots of vintage features in the room loved the radio for example, however the TV and toilet could have been a bit newer.

It’s a hotel full of vintage Showa vibes, in a good way. And I booked this hotel without knowing it’s ending its service few days after on the 13th. So there was a lot of local people who came for some pictures and the last glimpse. It was a pleasant stay with the super clean environment and the friendly staff.

The staff: they were impeccably hospitable and kind, a little shy but very warm and professional. The hotel: very well maintained and superbly clean. And I can open the window :) The location: quiet and assessible.

The staff; they were attentive yet discrete, very helpful and kind. This is a hotel with a long history of hospitality and they are gently proud of their heritage. The building aged really well and was well cared for, super clean and shiny and comfortable

8-10 minute walk from the nearest subway stations, so very manageable. Many interesting restaurants, cafes and stores within walking distance. Loved the art deco atmosphere of the hotel, and despite the age of the building, it's incredibly fresh.

The room was old-style as advertised, with a very cool bedside radio device. The room was clean and comfortable and not totally tiny as is the norm in Tokyo. Location in Ochanomizu is great if you want a quieter neighbourhood away from the crowds and tourists in Shinjuku/Shibuya.

As always with Japan, the room size is small and so there is little floor space left if you have suitcases as long-haul travellers are likely to be carrying.
