Hotel Mystays Gotanda Station

Perfect location. Literally across the street from Gotanda station. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, they even arranged a taxi to get us back to the airport as we had an early flight home. Complimentary toiletries at reception. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Two laundry rooms. Vending machine and microwave on each floor. Convenience store next door and several nearby. We can't fault this hotel. It was perfect for our holiday and would definitely return.

Spacious room for family of 2 adults and 3 kids, 9 yrs, 12 yrs and 15 yrs. Daily cleaning of room. Providing everything from toothbrushes to combs and facial wash even. Free laundry room facilities, vending machines, microwave and ice machines. Fantastic Family Mart just downstairs. 50m walk to Gotanda Station which is well connected to the Yamanote and Asakusa lines. So so easy to get around Tokyo. Lots of great food around. And Tokyo Square Gotanda has good shopping too. Great location!

The location is excellent, less than 2 mins to JR Gotanda station. The price is value for money and the food provided for breakfast was nice. The staff is also very helpful and able to converse in English.

At first I booked a single room, which is 8m2. This is too small for comfort as I did not have space to open my luggage fully and also maneuver around the room without bumping into something. The bar handle for the bath tub was also protruding and I cannot stand in the bathtub without banging into it. I am a tall guy at 1.77m tall so this room is too small for me and I asked for an upgrade to a twin room instead. I also didn't like that for laundry, there are only 4 washers and 4 dryers in level 5 and level 10 each. It is not enough for all the occupants and my laundry was removed before it was totally dried without any spare machine left for me to use.

The location is wonderful: Gotanda Station is across the street, which is connected to the Yamanote Line (major train line connecting most of the tourist attractions in Tokyo). The Asakusa line is also nearby. Our floor was the 3rd floor and a side entrance to the hotel allowed for east access to our room. The room space was excellent: we had three beds. Room heater was included which helped keep our room and bodies warm. The hotel also provides pajamas for guests.

The refrigerator wasn’t working. The laundry dryer took too long to dry clothes (almost 1.5 to 2 hrs). Water pressure for the shower and faucet sink was not as good.

The location is awesome, literally opposite the Gotanda station, which is part of JR line (great for JR pass holders). 15 mins by trains to everywhere: Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc. There’s also a family mart literally attached to the hotel, great to stock up on drinks and food at late night. The staffs were very helpful when I asked for non-smoking room and I upgraded to a bigger room from 2nd night onwards (due to sudden availability). They even showed me the different types of rooms first before I decided to do the upgrade. Although it’s very near the station, I can’t really hear the train sound. Looks like they’ve improved on the sound proofing of the walls and windows. The room was clean and all amenities provided.

The aircon was centrally controlled and I couldn’t make my room slightly colder. I needed to open the window slightly for a while to get the cool air. It will be great if the aircon/heater control can be 100% of each room.

The location was excellent. It was right next to the train station and a convenience store. If you don't want to do the hotel breakfast there are also a few cafes that open early for breakfast that are right down the street. The room was comfortable and clean. Nothing fancy but perfect for a restful night's sleep after a busy day of touring Tokyo. Staff was friendly and they were able to hold our luggage for the day of checkout which was great.

The location is perfect and easy to reach many place in Tokyo. Helpful staffs at the hotel reception.

The noise in the morning caused by housekeepers talking while cleaning the room can be disruptive. The room size is ideal for business trips, but it may not be suitable for travelers with large luggage. Therefore, I would recommend booking a larger room to ensure you have sufficient space to open your luggage.

Everything about this stay was marvellous! From the amazing staff to the clean and spacious room, to the undeniable perfect location that made getting around Tokyo a breeze! On our day of checking out, we were able to safely leave our bags at reception as we walked 7 mins down the road to embark on a monkey kart adventure. It was the best! Thank you mystays … my only regret was not fitting in time to use the washing machine facilities!

We love the location and the size of the room. The size is significantly bigger than most rooms in Japan in that price range. The location is superb, 100m away from yamanote line which is very convenient when connecting to Shinkansen. The area around the hotel has many restaurants as well. and very accessible to Shibuya/Shinjuku/Tokyo station

Nothing. We will definetely stay here again, the next we are in Tokyo.

Breakfast was amazing, location was perfect, quiet area but easy access to all the major Tourist areas such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, Tokyo etc. Everything we wanted to do was within 45 minutes travel, most of it was less than 15.

The bed became uncomfortable toward the last night as the mattress was quite hard and small. For the price it was very good and I would come back again.
