Excellent price and a lovely place near the heart of Amman. The staff was all super helpful and answered any of my questions. The upstairs terrace and balcony area is second to none. So pretty and a great space to socialize in the evenings. The Wi-Fi is also very good. There are loads of bathrooms around so if one is occupied you can easily find another shower, toilet, etc.

I spent two nights in Carob Hostel. I would have extended my stay if there was a different setup/location of the dorm room. Let me explain – the female dorm has seven beds, not six as the listing says. In addition, the location of the dorm is right on the ground floor a couple meters from Reception. This means that up until midnight and from about 7/8AM it can be noisy. Lastly, the room itself has a toilet and shower inside, meaning that you always hear people getting up to go and use the bathroom. The Hostel ambience was lovely, but I couldn’t get a decent night sleep either night so unfortunately it wasn’t worth it for me.

I loved
Environment, Food & Staff the view from the front terrace, the vibe in the back terrace with the warm indoor area and the nice plants in the outdoor area. Their efforts to recycle and be sustainable. THE PAD KAE MAOW noodles and the breakfast as so lovely. All the staff are wonderful, helpful and really knowledgeable on Amman and Jordan. They’ve got some really nice touches in the reception like google maps links for restaurants and key sights, key Arabic words, maps showing how much taxi’s should cost
. Just such useful information to maximise your time in Amman. Tours The tours are really reasonably priced comparable to the market and you know you are getting food quality and reliable tours, the shared calendar system and scaling prices are really cool as well. People It seems to attract really interesting, kind and warm people because I have lost count of the wonderful people I met staying there - some for a few months and some for a few days. Rooms I stayed in one of the female dorms, it was cleaned daily, the bedding and the bed itself were so comfy and they have curtains, plugs, shelves and hooks. Location It’s close to Downtown, Abdali bus station It honestly feels like a special place, I was in Jordan for 1 month and went back there three times. Everybody else staying also seemed to love it. I will be back for sure. Thank you Carob !!

I can’t think of a thing

Exceptional Hostel – Feels Like a Resort! Carob Hostel exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting me with trip planning and organizing tours even before my arrival. The hostel is clean, quiet, and feels like a resort with beautiful indoor and outdoor seating areas. The girls’ room had a private, spotless bathroom stocked with essentials. They even offered to store my luggage after check-out so I could enjoy a tour before my flight. Highly recommend for the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere!

All of the staff members were really helpful and sweet. They don't mind taking any number of questions and will make sure you find what you need. Rooms and bathrooms were neat, and they even provide flip flops for use in common areas and rooms since shoes aren't allowed. The sunset at the terrace was amazing. There's a vegan restaurant cum hookah bar behind the terrace that looked comfy and had nice decor. The hostel is about 700m from the downtown area of Amman, so most of the tourist areas and shopping areas are within walking distance. While coming back to the hostel, it isn't advisable to walk as it's all uphill. You do get yellow/white taxis (or Uber if you please) to take you up from the downtown area.

The uphill walk from downtown to the hostel is pretty tiresome, but you have taxis to help you. There aren't a lot of places to grab a quick snack close to the hostel, barring an okayish shawarma place further up. Getting to the top of the bunk bed is quite a trek, and you need some climbing skills to get to it. Try asking reception to shift you to the bottom bed when any of them get free, and the staff will generally oblige.

The best aspect of my stay at the hotel was the excellent service. I received quick responses to my questions, and the option to be picked up from the airport saved me a lot of stress. The hotel was generally clean, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

However, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. Firstly, the bunk beds were a bit challenging to access; it would be great if the stairs leading to the upper bed were easier to climb. Secondly, I wasn’t a fan of the automatic lights turning off after a set time. While I understand the intention to save energy and support the environment, I would really appreciate having a little light outside, especially as someone who enjoys sitting outdoors at night. Overall, I was still satisfied with my stay. Thanks for everything!(The hostel values guest feedback and has reached out to let me know they're working on solutions to these issues.)

I like that the facility organizes 'family dinner' on saturday. A simple food but it tasted yummy. The staff are nice and very friendly and helpful. It very organize and professional type of running a business. Meeting a lot of people from different parts of the world. A good place for meeting with people and exchange cultural experiences.

There few things can be improved moving forward, but my long stay was pleasant. I had convey my concern directly to the staff for easy action and recommendations.

Fabulous! Easily one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in globally - great value for money. - great decor and very tastefully done - the hostel has a lovely terrace garden overlooking the city of Amman with a fantastic view; lots of community activity and games areas as well as calm retreat areas to read or relax; from the get go, loved it. - staff - abed is exceptional in welcoming and helped with info about tours. Abed goes out of your way to help you with just about every thing making you feel you re home, not at a hostel. My pick up was late from the airport so they made up for it by offering it for free. - great location - 10 mins walk downtown and 15 mins walk to the amphithĂ©Ăątre and citadel. - you can take an Uber back to the hostel from downtown if you don’t wish to climb up the hill back to the hostel and costs just 1.5 JOD. - the dorm beds were comfy with power sockets, light and a rack to keep specs etc at night. Also a hanger shelf with hooks (thoughtful).

Hands down the best hostel I have ever been. I have never come across a more helpful staff at a hostel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the name of the spanish volunteer at the reception. But he was very helpful. He gave me almost an hour for bookings and itinerary. Common area is huge and amazing. Good vibe. We even had a weekly hostel dinner (for free). Highly recommended. Would also recommend it for staycation folks. Perfect place to work from and do your meetings.

Nothing. Restaurant at the hostel is a bit expensive but they also recommend good restaurants near by. So, it’s not a problem per se.

Really great Hostel, I had a private room which was lovely, it had a real homely vibe to it with handmade decor, the toilet was separate from the shower but still next to it and the showers were in separate little rooms, the Terraces were beautiful and a lovely place to hang out and chill, they have a great little bar with drinks and a vegan food stall! There were places to charge electricals all over and great washing facilities. It's in a great location, just a 10 minute walk from the citadel and roman theatre ruins and 1.25JD from downtown AND Jett Bus station Abdali. There is plenty of information for travelers.

The only thing I didn't like was the bin next to the toilet filled with other people's waste, this however wasn't the fault of the hostel, it's very much the same everywhere in Jordan due to sensitive plumbing.

My recent stay at the hostel was quite enjoyable. The common areas of the hotel are adequately equipped and confortable. The hostel impressively offers a variety of resources, including well-organized information and diverse tour options. The volunteers at the hostel were notably polite and kind. Their professionalism added to the overall positive experience, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. All in all, I had a pleasant experience during my stay. The hostel's amenities, informative resources, and the demeanor of the volunteers made for a positive impression. I would consider returning in the future for another stay.
