The staff at check-in were superb and were very accommodating to any requests. The barman on the rooftop bar was also great. The staff at the restaurant were a bit slow and a couple of the ladies were not very helpful. The hotel is well-located and we had no problem grabbing an Uber from the hotel. I would definitely upgrade to a Superior Room as the view from the room is significantly better than the non-superior rooms. They have a great gym with sauna and steam room. Breakfast was fine but more fruit options would be even better. There's a great little mall only 100m from the hotel with a good food court - it was called Broadwalk Mall. Overall, a great place to stay if you're planning on doing day trips from Nairobi.

The rooftop pool was freezing - a heated pool would have been amazing. The view from the non-superior room was awful as a big office building is only meters from the window. There was no natural light and no fridge in this type of room. We upgraded to a superior room for an extra $30 and it was well worth it.

Breakfast buffet was large and extensive with an omelet bar that was always kept busy. Enjoyed the choices for juices & fruit. Even vegetarians should be happy with the selection. Everything was labeled and that was helpful as some foods were new to us! Chef went out of his way after we complained about a grilled chicken sandwich to make us happy. They are definitely into customer service.

There is a window between the bathroom and the bed area. So if someone went into the bathroom during the night and turned on the light, then the entire bedroom area would be lit up. Poor design. The bathtub was very slippery, too. Even our friends commented about that. A grip bar is needed for safety. Tours offered by the hotel were outrageously expensive. Cheaper to user Uber and get yourself to tourist locations. Not in an area with a choice of restaurants so ended up eating at the hotel every night. The windows didn't open in our room and the temperature would start out cool and wake us during the night with warmer air...slept poorly due to this.

Golden Tulip is a nice hotel in Nairobi Westlands. The location is good and we always felt safe. The room was spacious with a great view from the window. Good breakfast, nice food at the restaurant on the 10th floor. Staff is very nice and professional

On the first night the alarm went on and woke us al at 5am in the morning, second night the phone rang for few seconds and woke us up again. Our room wasn’t checked on our second day se we had no fresh towels, shower gel, toilette roll.

They arranged to have their driver pick me up from and to the Nairobi Airport which I appreciated as I arrived last at night. It was worth the added cost of this service. The hotel was very clean and had many Covid era cleaning considerations in place to keep guests safe. My room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The wifi worked well in my room and throughout the rest of the hotel. I used the gym one morning and it was more than fully equipped. I was on the 9th floor so only one floor below the pool and bar area and the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was over the top - far too much food for me to sample it all! Breakfast was included in my room rate. The evening meal was very good as well and I appreciated that I didn't have to find some place else to eat in the evening as I was travelling alone. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. I took advantage of the on-site travel/tourist guide who kindly booked me a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage which is somewhere I really wanted to visit. And the driver they arranged for me was able to drop me off at the National Museum which was within walking distance of the hotel but I would have had to cross a very busy freeway so being driven there was a bonus. I felt safe there as I was travelling alone. I would highly recommend staying at the Golden Tulip.

There really wasn't anything I did not like.

The location was very good for me, a nice walkable distance away from the Sarit Centre - shoutout to the Japanese bakery&restaurant Shokupan for serving world-class food and drinks. The room was a bit older but definitely clean, comfortable and well-isolated. I was a bit apprehensive about the breakfast from the photos but I shouldn't have been - the fruit and juice selection is great, you'll definitely find something for your palate. WiFi was solid, too!

While all staff members were genuinely friendly and doing their best to be helpful, there seemed to be a bit of disorganisation somewhere in the system: We wanted to order some food to our room but could find neither the menu nor a room phone. Went downstairs to ask the reception if there should be a phone. "Yes there should be a phone but if there isn't we'll send a technician tomorrow. For now, you can go back to your room and we'll send a colleague up to take your order in person in a few minutes". If I had waited for that colleague, I would've starved to death - and the same fate would have awaited me had I waited for the technician. At the end of our stay, our room still had no phone. But thanks to Bolt Food, at least we didn't starve. :)

The staff was outstanding. Manager Grace and joyful delivered outstanding service. We had a minor problem and they corrected it at once! Great team work. The breakfast every morning was delicious! Lots to choose from. The property is lovely and very clean. We felt very safe. Great security.

The bathroom tub needs updating. Also I would suggest the menu be updated with more explanation of the foods. Example chicken sandwich I expected to get a grill or fried chicken breast. I got bits of chicken like tuna fish...it was disappointing. However the manager took care of it. Thank you.

+ staff was just outstanding; always there, always helpful; + good location, 200m from highway exit to allow smooth transit + clean and lovely bright rooms + hot water available 24h + pillows were soooooooooo comfy! + Wifi was working perfectly fine + Uber has no problem in finding the location + newly opened supermarket and shopping mall 150 m from the hotel to buy anything

- sometimes had a feeling breakfast was a leftovers from previous dinners - breakfast could be more healthy/ some more healthy options

We recently used the Golden Tulip Westlands on the beginning and end of a Kenyan safari. It was the perfect place to rest after the long flight from the states and after our safari. The breakfast was very nice. We ate at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the good and varied menu. The hotel staff throughout the building was wonderful! They helped us do several day trips in Nairobi.

We had very little to complain of. There was a nearby barking dog and we had occasional issues with the air conditioner. The air conditioner issue was a problem with our operation of the air conditioner, not an actual problem.

The great service made a huge difference to my stay, the staff did everything they could to help from arranging take away lunches to my onward travel. the restaurant food was great, and the rooftop bar a good place to hang out. the coffee was really good too, as were the fresh juices at breakfast

my room was very comfortable but smelt a tiny bit damp, I think it just needed an air, and it was a bit dark. I’m sure if I’d asked they would have given me another one, but after I’d settled in, it didn’t seem that important. rooms on one side of the hotel looked lighter as there is a tall building immediately next to the hotel on one side it limits light and you are looked over. the hotels taxi to a location elsewhere in Westlands was an extraordinary $15, I recommend using Uber instead.

The staff were fantastic. I had a package issued with DHL and the general manager and office manager Prakash Shetty were amazing. They called and emailed DHL office for days to make sure my package was delivered before I checked out. I can't thank them enough. They went beyond the called to make sure it was delivered.
