The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo

first, i would like to thank Ritz Hotel team for their nice hospitality, and the breakfast was amazing, the varulites and the caring i had from the staff was soo good. I'm looking forward to comeback and stay longer

if you can allow me to say, the prices for small small things should be look at it again. if I'm staying on the hotel and sit in the coffee shop, i should have a better prices than what the pass by guest. i cant asking for one coffee, i have to pay 150 LE for it. just please look at it carefully.

Comfy beds, great location

Staff always harassing you for tips. If you don´t speak Arabic is very difficult for the staff to understand your requirements particularly in the restaurants

The service

1- Smell of cigarettes in my room though the floor is nonsmoking designated 2- Continuous noise from a near by nightclub (might be within the facility) through out the night 3- The noise from traffic (especially horns) day and night

Location is excellent

Feels dated, room overlooked a loud party running late at night, big conference made the hotel seem extremely busy

We liked absolutely everything! The staff is welcoming very polite and courteous, everyone is very attentive and take care of their guests. Great job and thank you to the entire staff for making our stay a memorable one.

I really love the reception department at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. I have not seen anything like it in Cairo hotels, in terms of smile, welcome, speedy completion of procedures, humility, etc. I would especially like to thank ,Mathew, a supervisor, a man of the highest class and respect, who never delays in helping guests.

The higher prices

The hotel was luxurious and the personnel was attentive. We received 4 bottles of water every day which was great since there were no stores nearby and tap water is not drinkable. The hotel room was clean. The swimming pool was clean with a good temperature, great for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. I also highly recommend the breakfast. They have a wide variety of choices and they offer to go options if you want to have it for the airport.

We had a small misunderstanding when reserving the car to take us to the airport and they charged us the more expensive option, although we explicitly mentioned the $60 when booking. We noticed this only upon inspecting the final bill. It took us ~15min to settle everything in the morning of the departure which rushed our trip to the airport. The receptionist settled everything and we received the service at the price that we booked. Bottom line, trust but verify.

We took the Nile view room on the 10th floor and the extra money spent on that was worth every penny. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The pool is huge and was a good experience. The concierge (Nagi) was extremely helpful and made our trip very smooth. The location is walking distance from the grand museum.

We ate in Vivo, Bab Al Sharq and breakfast in Nox. None of the meals were great. All of them felt very average. The local food in the city is better and cheaper.

Well......where to begin ! I realize there is a certain expectation of quality that comes with the Ritz Carlton brand. So you expect a nice room, big comfy bed, good view, quality toiletries and a certain level of customer service. Thats what youre paying top dollar for, the brand and the expectation that comes with that brand. And all of these things were here, just as you would expect What you can never assume, or buy, is the personalities of the staff. Sure, they are paid to make your stay a 'Ritz' stay......but deep down in their bones genuine caring kind gorgeous staff. You cant buy this. This just comes naturally to good people......and these people are good people From the moment we arrived Matthew on the Reception desk set the bar high. He was incredibly patient with me as my husband and I fuffed around trying to decide certain things. The front desk was incredibly busy but Matthew made me feel like he had all the time in the world for me. Thank you Matthew. Then our second home became the club lounge and the staff became our family. Mohammed Eli greeted us every day with a smile and warmth that can not be faked. He had advice for us on what to go and see. He answered our endless questions about everything and I will genuinely miss our daily chats. Thank you Mohammed. Mariz helped us with everything we needed to book our train ticket to the next stop and even arranged for someone to go out and buy it for us from the station. Ill I had to do was look at the view and drink champers and Mariz made it all happen. Thank you Mariz Mariz and Mohammed translated an old Bedouin saying for me, I expected it to just be on a bit of note paper but then they surprised me with it printed in beautiful Arabic script on papyrus and in a gorgeous frame. I was reduced to tears at the gesture. Wissam, the Manager, came to chat with us every day and made sure we had everything we needed.

I didnt like that we had to leave :)
