Clean, spacious room with good bed, pillows, linens. The quality of the breakfast was surprisingly top notch. The air conditioning is cold and lovely - a relief in a hot climate. The view from the window was easily the best view I've had in any hotel in Alor setar. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Check in was smooth, and early check in was well worth the small fee. Location is good - lots of restaurants, Maybank, 7-11 nearby. Tesco/Lotus mini-mall is across the street. Not far from city center Aman Central. Wifi is reliable. A spacious lobby that fits the hotel's 4 star rating.

Abit dark at night - extra light would be nice. The shower had lukewarm water in the morning, and no hot water at night. Might need fixing.

The hotel was so nice. Despite it has been in operation for 10 years, the room is still okay. There is nearby shops for breakfast, lunch and dinner which was very accessible. Bank, mini shop also is in walking distance. Will come back again when I'm having another short tip to Kedah!!

Perhaps hotel can make an upgrade on the lighting in the room. There is no main light in the room. In the morning is okay because you can open the curtain and having sunlight to lighten the room. But at night, it was so dim. Bedside lamps is not enough to lighten the room. Also, refurbishment of some paints work also should be considered.

Good location, facility, and service. Only view and parking are not that great. We stayed on the 12th floor fronting the mini graveyard and residential area nearby. Parking is not that secure as the boom gates stay open, and we didn't see any security personnel manning it. Other than that, this hotel is one of the best in AS. There's Lotus's in front of it, rows of shop lots and local eateries nearby. The room design is a gem. Love the facilities provided. Great for travelling executives. And it is spacey too.

No lift to parking. Have to carry bags over small flight of stairs. The lobby driveway is also crowded as cars exiting from car park will likely drive past the area.

One reception guy was a bit cold, although he's not rude; he's actually efficient. The housekeeping folks, on the other hand, were very friendly & helpful. Eating out not a problem, stalls are everywhere. Shopping mall, Lotus's, just across the road, which seemed always full of vehicles so be careful when crossing it.

Room 706: air-conditioner barely cool even when the thermostat was turned to 10°C; the shower's drain seemed clogged, it got flooded every time I took a shower; ironing board was just a board, no longer had padding; hair dryer seemed to be broken on purpose to have it setting be just cold blow.

Friendly reception staff. Smooth check-in. Clean room. Clean toilet. At night, a lot of stalls besides hotel selling burgers, otak², chicken wing etc. Shoplots just besides the hotel including mini mart, restaurant and Long Wan, just walk. Lotus's is just across the road, can just go walking. Convenient hotel parking. I got room with nice view, seeing paddy fields and mountains. You don't have to worry about getting foods here even if you don't get room with breakfast. Me and my family really had great moments staying at this hotel.

Fast check in. Hotel location near a lot of tourist attractions, a lot of hawkers nearby, swimming pool is clean. helpful reception team & free baby cot made it easier for sleeping arrangements.

toilet ventilation is extremely dirty. Parking spot is always full. Room window have not been cleaned for quite some time as the window is filled with moss

Everything is exceptional for me. I really enjoyed the stay. the bed and pillow are comfortable. The breakfast suits my every morning needs. I extended my stay for another one night. Overall such a great experience to be at Grand Alora

The housekeeping didn't clean my room for another extended stay. The heater seems not working in the morning

Intermittent WiFi where it slow down for work. Need to imrprove WiFi connection or add some AP with 5GHz connectivity and expand bandwidth.

Super comfortable bed, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The food in restaurant was delicious, good value. And the wait staff were exceptional in their manner, what you would expect in a very top, top restaurant. Command of english was excellent. Chef is a very nice man.

Reception staff were a bit cool.

I like everything from checking in to the hotel room and location. The ladies at the checking in counter was amazing and had amazing hospitality. They were nice. Everything went smoothly and the hotel room is big and cosy. Given level 13, i had the beet view of Alor Setar. It was lovely and wonderful

I’m giving it a 9/10 because everything was good except the lights in the room. It was too dimmed. I can’t see everything clearly especially when packing for my very last night there. Besides that, everything else was okay
