Cosy place with a nice relaxing area on the rooftop. Room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was nice. There was free water and you can use the fridge in the community kitchen. The staff was very helpful and gave us some great tips regarding restaurants and breakfast.

No real complaint, but if you arrive by car you have to park it on the street near the hotel (no cost). We  thought a private parking is included as there is state "free parking" on booking.com, but overlooked the details which explain the free parking is on the street.

Uncomfortable bed, barking dog at 3 am, tiny shower space, AC didn't work well (took long time to cool). This doesn't affect the hotel rating, but just FYI the Pemex gas station in Tulum (not too far from the hotel) is infamous for scams. We got scammed there too. Here is my advice: go out of the car, watch the attendant like a hawk for every move, and most importantly, don't fill it up, but rather pay preset amount in cash and count the cash out loud in person.

Hammocks, kitchen area to make your own breakfast (which we liked after eating out for a long time it's nice to have kitchen space). Size of room great, staff were really helpful on check in and transport tips managed to get help we needed to get to our cenotes and diving in playa del carmen. Small convenience store opposite was really handy for snacks and fruit essentials for a short stay. Staff were paying alot of attention to keep the garden neat and tidy.

Had a few other American guests staying at the time which ruined the chill space of the upper terrace talking a lot. sometimes talking. It's not got a 24/7 reception, so it's good to take the contact numbers from the different staff in case you need anything.

Amazing hidden gem in Tulum. This is a great place, with very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. The shared spaces are welcoming, clean and the entire accomodation is far from the noise, but near to everything. The wide terrace with the shared kitchen, the water dispensers at each floor and free bicycles to take represent a great plus. You can park your scooter inside Casa Almendro, and that's great as well. The personnel working at Casa Almendro is welcoming and helpful. The price is highly competitive for Tulum (small charge in case of payment by card) and that's a perfect option to travel on budget in an excellent place. The level of Casa Almendro is very good and the overall evaluation is the best possible. Truly recommended.

The scooter rental proposed by the accomodation is more expensive than other rentals in town, which we opted for.

What can I say about Casa Almendro? I almost don't want to write this because it feels a bit like my secret spot. I love Casa Almendro. I've stayed there now 4-5 times. And for good reason! The location is blocks from the main street full of food and shopping. The staff is amazing. Francesco is kind, helpful, and feels like a friend. The bodega and fruit shop across the street is convenient for budget travel as you can utilize Casa Almendro's kitchen. The bikes available for $10 US/24 hours are great and if you have any issues (I did because I forgot how to bike) you can reach someone via Whatsapp to come help (Francesco is my hero). For the solo, female traveler this spot is safe with a locked gate into the courtyard and then a double-locked door for your room. There are also many cameras on the premises. I may be wrong but I think the owner lives on-site which made me feel safe, as well. All in all, I love Casa Almendro and typically book my next trip while I'm still there because I love it so much. We had a lovely stay at Casalmendro. The staff were fantastic and had no problem with us checking in at a very late hour, and whenever I contacted them in the lead up to the trip I got a fast and helpful response. The colourful rooms are spotless and great value, arranged around a pretty little courtyard and located right in the centre of Tulum town. The rooms can get quite warm, but there are fans and a/c. The roof terrace with it's many hammocks and chairs is a wonderful place to just relax with a book or drink. All in all a fantastic 4 days at Casalmendro for budget minded travellers. I would definitely go back!

I stayed twice in this hotel on the same trip. Super friendly staff, very clean, bikes for rent for 100 pesos a day, common area with kitchen and all necessary equipment, space to dry clothes... Spacious rooms, second time around I got a room with a huge bed. Cozy bedside lights were a nice touch. In the center, walking distance to ADO station and many restaurants but a quiet street. Patio full of plants and a tree make it very peaceful. Really good price for Tulum.

Just be aware beach is not walking distance from the hotel but both beach and Tulum ruins are easily accessible by bike.

The location of the hotel is very central which for access to GREAT food and entertainment was easy... it was in a working neighbourhood, the trucks did start moving early in the mornings (and so do the dogs)... but on the upside the noise in the evening when you are trying to sleep is low...

The rooftop was a very cool space to chill, there's chairs and tables so you can eat up there or just relax. Free water was also appreciated, and the cleaners did a great job with the room.

We wish it was a bit more social but maybe this was because it was off season. You can pay by card but there is a significant fee.

The hotel has a very nice rooftop terrace with hammocks and a shared kitchen.

First we got a room in the ground floor which was very dark because it had no real windows. When first entering the room there were already dozens of moscitos in the room. Next to the bathroom door was a small crack in the wall where several cockroaches entered our room. We asked for another room in the upper floor, and it was not a problem to change rooms. The second room was fine, as it had real windows and no insects at all.
