Honestly, everything! The location, staff, rooms, restaurant, beach, food and activities offered were excellent. Staff is super friendly and happy to help. The beach is a paradise. The rooms are clean, perfectly air conditioned, and with cute bathrooms and great products to shower. The yoga in the morning was excellent to start the day on the right track. The food was well balanced, the breakfast was delicious consistently. Overall it was a relaxing and quite beach vibe with comfortable lodging and and amenities. June is slow season, so it was fairly empty and just what we were looking for.

The only think I can think of worth mentioning is the construction of the road and the new buildings inside the national park. They are currently (June 2033) rebuilding the road so the last 5 minutes of drive are on a bumpy and dusty road. Luckily we had a rental car so it was not an issue for us but I could see tourist on bikes and Vespas struggling in the heat and and dust. It is not a long stretch but definitely keep that in mind when booking.

the hotel is beautiful, great rooms, good beach, good recommendations from Genero the conserve, fair breakfast although the restaurants are average. location is in the Tulum natural reservoir and the hotel is surprisingly charging 2 usd per room per night without stating this charge in advance in booking …

the check in was a very bad experience.. Ricardo the receptionist, gave us a very bad feeling , so much so that we wanted to leave.. we booked 3 rooms for 4 night - paid 1900 USD and got written authorization in advance from the hotel for a 3rd person in 2 of the rooms. unfortunately, Ricardo had decided that we need to add more money for the 3rd person and held us almost an hour without letting us into our ( payed in advance) rooms, as if we are thieves that doesn’t want to pay… it took forever till I convinced him to let me speak with his manager who agreed that there shouldn’t be an extra payment. it’s a pity that a great vacation started with such a sour taste.

the most amazing place i’ve been to. lots of vegetation, the beach is super close, the sunrise and sunsets just stick on the retina. great food in all three restaurants, bikes available for renting, easy to get to both downtown and zona hotelera.

the staff is quite pushy about tipping, in case you’re out of cash someday ensure to excuse yourself - otherwise you will get a number of bad looks.

From start to finish, the service and communication was impeccable! Take negative reviews lightly. We read them and I must say our stay/trip to Tulum far exceeded our expectations of what we had read in other reviews. Pocna is conveniently located in the heart of the the Tulum National Park and just one mile from the Tulum ruins, and a short scooter or taxi ride to other side of side of the beach where most of the bars, clubs, and other restaurants are. There are endless things to do such as getting a massage, renting bikes or scooters, snorkling, taking a Hobie Cat boat directly from Pocna's beach, volleyball and yoga. All of which can be arranged at the front desk without any hassle. Julian and Edward are among two of Pocna's staff that were outstanding! They are also very helpful in assisting with calling taxi's, providing dinner recommendations, or arranging outside tour excursions around Tulum. You can relax/play by day, get ready and call a taxi to go out or walk down the beach to other dinner options near by. Our room was cleaned everyday. It was quiet, comfortable, cold AC, and hot showers despite other reviews. There was security walking the grounds at all times which made us, and our ocean front room feel safe.. We always had a sun bed, beach bean bags, or a table at Ramon's without any wait and the service was very attentive! There are 3 restaurants on property. Ramon's, which has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had free breakfast at Ramon's everyday since it was included in our room rate. There were 6-7 options to choose from with coffee and juice. The portion sizes were not too small or too big. We had the opportunity to try the delicious sushi restaurant on property for lunch one day. We ordered right from the beach and they brought it right to where we were sitting. Cleo's is a small beach club that you can walk to from Pocna from either the beach or a jungle like shaded path.

This didn't effect our stay 1 bit, but there was no pool. The ocean temp was plenty warm, but this may be factor you would want to consider another time of the year. Also, although the bar staff and servers where very attentive and you could order pretty much anything to drink, we felt like the drinks weren't very strong. Take our opinion lightly on that one though!

This hotel is absolutely amazing! Loved the location on the relaxed and more quiet side of tulum beach. The staff, without any exceptions are all very, very friendly and helpful, literally everyone was so nice, made me feel very welcome! I stayed in a jungle bungalow which was amazing, perfect bed, quiet for a good night rest, airconditioning worked perfect, huge bathroom. My friends stayed in the ocean seafront bungalows which are also amazing if you’re up for that. All accommodation is set in a beautiful jungle, and kept meticulously by all the gardening staff. Really enjoyed the free yoga class, she was lovely. Healthy breakfast with many options. If I return to tulum I will definitely stay in this hotel!

Really the only room for improvement is better WiFi in the room itself, although to be honest… just relax and enjoy your holiday and read a book before going to bed rather than looking in your phone.

Incredible location, just a few sandy steps to the beach - and what a gorgeous stretch of beach! Plenty of loungers, chairs and pillows. There is an issue with sargassum accumulation currently, but PocNa had a tractor to collect the majority of it every few days or so - not every hotel did this, so we were very thankful. Ultimately it did not bother us at all, we're all at the mercy of Mother Nature. When we stayed it was turtle nesting season, so there were nightly patrols of the beach and marked off locations of nests. We were beyond blessed to witness a brand new baby sea turtle make his way into the ocean one night. We visited in early June and stayed for a week. We rented a car so we could have more freedom to come and go as we pleased and the hotel had a small parking lot, so we didn't have to worry about parking. But, we would have been happy to just stick at to PocNa as well without a car. Our room was clean, quiet, cool and the perfect spot for relaxation. They also provided a Nespresso machine in the room so you can start your day with a quick shot of caffeine, which was much needed to get pumped up for your beach bound adventures. We loved being so close to the Tulum ruins (just a 15 minute walk down the beach) and inside of the National Park. The hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and beyond helpful. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and they did everything they could to make our visit special. The breakfast was SPECTACULAR and so filling for your beach filled calorie burning days. We ate there at night and were just as impressed. The restaurant staff was awesome - so nice, so helpful, DELICIOUS drinks. Be sure to try the mescalito - YUM. They also made delicious coffee drinks (latte's, cappuccino's and such). I wish I could remember every person's name and give them specific shout outs, but I think I would need their entire staff directory to be able to do that.

Not any fault of the hotel, but there was construction on the only road within the National Park. When it's finished it will be incredible, but currently it's a hot, dusty, rocky mess. The construction seems to be moving at the speed of light though, so I don't imagine this to be a problem much longer.

Nice resort at the beachfront with beach club and not as crowded as the south beach. Stayed in one of the small houses . Liked the porch with the hammock and the fact that I could leave the door open during night and sleep with the sound of waves. For me it was the perfect location to start my solo Mexico trip. Great breakfast (best French toast I have ever had) and good food in general. Staff is very attentive. Special thanks to Enrique & Alejandro from the front desk, who made my stay unforgettable and looked after me during my stay. Yoga teacher and classes are great too!

Maybe WIFI reception could be improved 😉

This place is a sanctuary. The room and grounds are beautiful. The staff is so kind and helpful. Everyone is so friendly. Yoga was a nice bonus. I loved everything about my time here. They don’t open the beach until 10am and they close the beach at 6pm. It isn’t that big a deal though bc that’s a lot of time of the sun! The Japanese restaurant is delicious. Reminded me of Kyoto. The other restaurant closed at 530pm but you can walk to other places. I went next door for an outdoor movie and dinner for a change of scenery. You can rent a bike or scooter and go to south Tulum or downtown. I explored around but was happy to go back to my little quiet retreat. I highly recommend!

The rooms were super clean and beautifully decorated. The shower had great flow and the air conditioning unit was completely silent. The jungle paths around the property, and the jungle yoga studio are enchanting. The included breakfast was delicious and had a variety of delicious juices and sweet and savory options, the quesadillas are my favorite. The staff made us feel like family, especially at reception, Edward and his crew were just wonderful. We will miss them! The location is on the quiet side of the beach and nights you can only hear the waves on the beach, no crazy parties around here.

Our room was advertised as having two beds. In reality the second bed was a hard sofa. This is Booking.com fault in my opinion, as the hotel was clear that they might not be able to offer two beds.

This was our second trip to Pocna. We love it here. We brought our children this time and was nervous it may not be family friendly but it was perfect. The beach club service is amazing and the food was incredible. Such a great menu. The bacon wrapped shrimp and jalapeño dish has me salivating just thinking about it. Our kids loved the Mexican style corn. Waiters were so friendly and became our friends. We loved getting to know them. Pocna is such a relaxing beach vacation. You don’t have to even leave the property. Waking up in the jungle and a short walk to the beach. We will be back every year!

There was a little dispute over a missing towel. In the end we just payed the $20. Make sure when exchanging your towels they are all accounted for..We didn’t know this was a thing and just dropped them in the dirty bin.
