Papaya Playa project was the quintessential location to remove yourself from the world and to "get away". The customer service was exceptional, they were overly friendly, made sure we were taken care of, and even assisted in booking/finding local activities to do. HUGE shout-out to Javier, for helping book the Cenote tours, suggesting the local bar/restaurant, and enrolling us in the breathe-work yoga experience.

The stay and facility was gorgeous, but navigating through the property was not simple. We only stayed for a few nights, so it could relate to us not being acquainted to the property (and possibly due to one too many drinks). Being lost through the grounds felt safe, and at times was fun, but could be irritating if one is urgently looking to get home.

Absolutely amazing place, love the architecture integrated into the landscape, the care of the environment as well as the quality of the food at the restarant. Location its great, beautiful surroundings and super helpful staff, specially Javier from Customer experience, he was always helpful with our various request. Definitely a place to come back.

If I have to be picky, I would say 1. that the staff at the restaurants need some addiitonal training before starting to interact with customers, I got the impresion most of them were new and sometimes did not really knew the menu or how to solve some of my request and 2. I got the basic "room", but for the price per nigth I was expecting something just a bit bigger...

PPP had AMAZING food and beautiful views. Location was central. Private beach access was a major perk. Staff was welcoming and helpful!

Room was small. Could hear the Nextdoor neighbors a little too well if you know what I mean… no outlet in the bathroom which was unusual and tricky for two girls to do their hair!

Food options amazing, very great staff. Food, drinks, beach, privacy, art and location best in Tulum. Better than azulik because it has a private beach! Our host Javier was amazing and very nice always ready to help and recommendations. Even responded instantly when we needed something at midnight! Great stay thank you. Will return.

I liked the atmosphere and enjoyed my stay. Beachfront room plays a big role it! Having a private hammock in front of the room and being few steps away from ocean-view pool was an amazing experience! I read in reviews that food was expensive. I will call it pricey but totally normal for Tulum beach. I would add that food was very tasty. Fish and chips, octopus and french toast👌 I also read about scorpions in the room but haven’t seen even a bug. They also host a party on Saturdays. It’s a must see in Tulum.

Location was a bit far from restaurants and clubs. You have to take taxi every time to go out. 500 pesos for 5 minutes drive 🤷🏻‍♂️

- not your typical Mexico resort. Doesn’t feel like a fast paced, Americanized party resort. - located in a jungle surrounded by nature - individual “casa’s” ranging in sizes that were well air conditioned despite the straw roofs. - good food - friendly staff, never felt pressured to tip - direct communication with staff via WhatsApp which was very convenient. ie: ready for a room cleaning? just let them know so you won’t be bothered by knocking when you want to sleep in. - loved all the art installations: everything on the resort reminded me of Burning Man

- remember you’re in the jungle, so there is always some sort of noise: ocean, birds, animals. I enjoyed being able to hear the ocean though. - poor lighting: meant to be romantic, peaceful, and relaxing. Became problematic only when applying makeup for a wedding. - small mirror in the bathroom, also problematic when applying make up for a wedding. - some problems that friends ran into: raccoon in their room, hole in the straw roof after an animal dug through it, no plug in the bathroom to plug in flat iron.

One of the most amazing vacations we have had in a while! The staff, the rooms, the ambiance, clean beaches, conveniently located, everything was amazing! We spent 5 days here and honestly was so relaxing. Wifi was great, air conditioning, room amenities, all fantastic. I will say the private pool was cozy, although the water was not temperature controlled. The staff is wonderful at assisting with setting up dinner reservations, Cenote tours, towels for the beach, etc. We came in October when the season is slower and with lower occupancy was really nice. Saturday night is their beach club party and well worth it. Pro tip, buy water and alcohol from local convenient store and keep in your room. Water is $6 per bottle everywhere and that adds up just as fast as alcohol. During the party, you can go back to your room and have a few before returning for the party. :) Highly recommend asking the staff for bicycle rentals and using them to get to places during the day! At night however, be mindful and get a taxi for your safety. When we go back to Tulum, high chance we will come stay at PPP again!

The food was lackluster.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Oscar and Charlie made us feel welcomed and ensured our stay went well. The premises were picturesque and clean. Check-in was also an easy process and the staff made us feel comfortable during that time, as well.

The food and drinks could be improved. Several cocktails were watered down. The PPP app worked most times, however, we did experience some issues with it, as well. The location of PPP was further from where many Tulum Beach restaurants and attractions are, so transportation was frequently used.

Papaya was located in a great area walking distance to a busy part of Tulum. Since the beginning, the hotel staff were very kind and happy to have us. We met with Javi (staff) and he was able to give us a great tour of the hotel and also of their great restaurants and beach clubs. Additionally, explained all the upcoming events for their guests which is a huge plus. We were able to be in close contact with staff at all times and had a great 2 day stay.

Papaya is located on a big area so you do have to do some good amount of walking to your room and also to leave. You must wear repellent to keep mosquitoes away during their season. Also, we arrived during seaweed season so the beach wasn't as pretty.

I love PPP for its concept and originality. Cabins, casitas, villas are built inside the jungle. Staying at one of them is one-of-the-kind experience. WiFi is surprisingly available all over the property, even at the beach front. I enjoyed many activities including hiking the walking path from one end to the other, and daily yoga, which is located right at the ocean front. My favorite PPP moment was eating breakfast in the early morning while watching the soft sunrise lights up the beach club area. The picture from this scenery is lovely.

I would not recommend it for light sleepers, because you could hear ocean waves day and night, also not for people who cannot stand common bugs and insects. Our room was surprisingly spared from them but I heard stories from other guests. Lastly, the jungle cabin rooms have no soundproof and be considerable to your neighbors at late hours (yes, even given how loud the ocean waves are).
