Maison d’hotes Afassi has been one of the most cutest stud we had in Morocco. We have enjoyed all of the properties in our two week, meeting wonderful staff across the country. Maison d’hotes Afassi was a little more special because it is family owned and operated. From all the questions we had before our arrival to the minute we walked in the door, Ahmed was an amazing host. He explained all the features of the hotel AND the information about Chefchaouan that we would need during our stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated… as we’re all the properties we stayed at! But you can feel this property had extra love into the building because it is their own business. Mom rubs the kitchen, dad is the magic that makes sure everything is on and watches over everyone from a distance, and Ahmad and Asia are the icing on the cake for customer service! This hotel is not in the Madina as we’re other properties we selected on Morocco… we specifically picked Maison d’hotes Afassi because of the review and the view from the rooftop!!! Gorgeous sunrise and sunset views!!! The old Madina was simply a 10 minute walk from the hotel and simply a 5 minute walk from the CTM bus terminal. You’ll find other properties in the madina are buried in the madina. They are very very cute but unlike other madinas, they are not easy to get to especially if you have luggage. 90% of Chefchaouan is walking up or down… so keep in mind of the location that you choose as these were important factors for us. Dining in the Madina is affordable depending on your budget. However just outside the Madina on our walk to and from the hotel there are a few local restaurants that are even more affordable. As is always the case, we will miss our new friends that we met at Maison d’hotes Afassi, just as much as we will miss the peaceful panoramic echos of the mosques calling for prayer that you are memorized in listening to from the rooftop patio of the Maison d’hotes Afassi. You couldn't ask for a more enthusiastic welcome than was provided by Ahmed. I literally can't imagine a more upbeat, friendly and helpful person. When we were ready to head out and see the sights, he saved a bunch of destinations in Google maps on my phone, both things to see and a bunch of restaurants he recommended. That made it easy to walk around the maze of streets in Chefchaouen and find his "favoritos" for pictures and such, and to choose a nearby place to eat when we got hungry. Room 1 was huge, with two double bedrooms and a room with two twins, as well as a small seating area. It was the largest family room we had across the 9 hotels we stayed in in Morocco, and the price was probably the lowest. Street parking was right outside the hotel.

The location was acceptable, but further to walk into town than we'd had elsewhere in Morocco. It took maybe 10 minutes before we were in the interesting part of town. The juice at breakfast wasn't freshly squeezed orange juice. Every other hotel had fresh orange juice, so this was very surprising, and with the super cheap price of juicing oranges in Morocco, it doesn't make sense to skimp in this area.

This is a great find. The room was large and spacious and very clean. The breakfast area on the terrace is unique and has great views. For our first night in Morocco it was a great experience. Our bags had not arrived into Casablanca so that put us 5 hours behind in driving to Chefchaouen. We did anticipate driving during the night on very windy roads with pot holes, donkeys and dogs to dodge as well as local traffic. Our host Ahmed went above and beyond making sure he kept in touch with us during our journey and waiting up until 1am until we got in. He helped us park our car and was one of the friendliest welcomes we have ever had on our travels. The lady on reception SIA was also fantastic she had lots of maps and recommendations for us. The breakfast waitress too was very friendly. Overall 10/10

Ahmed and Sia’s customer service was top notch. It was always so nice to have a friendly welcome and an upbeat person to interact with when coming back to the hotel. The hotel was also nicely furnished and I loved the colorful lights and decor, and everything was very clean.

The bed I slept in was very hard and I could not stay more than 2 nights in it. My shower water did not get warm or hot the one time I tried to use it. The location was just far enough (20 mins walk) from the blue part of the city so had to take a taxi or it was a long walk.

The staff was so helpful and friendly. We have stayed in over 20 countries over 100 places and Ahmed and Assia were the best hosts we’ve ever met. They really took the extra mile to help me and my wife feel comfortable. They were like family to us. The breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared. I loved how Assia and Ahmed were super helpful in giving the best recommendations in old Medina. We will come visit again very soon!

Sometimes at bedtime you can hear chatter and noises that carries over into the room. But no complaints

The ctm bus station isn't far like five minutes to walk. The people's at the office was so kind and helpful. They are frankly welcoming. The guy at the office give me many advice for visiting chefchaouen , the best place I can go , to eat . All this information was really helpful. The breakfast and complete. They have three terrace seen on the mountain. The room is frankly clean , there is air conditioner. They not super far for the center of chefchaouen, maybe like ten or fifteen minutes to walk. To be honest if you want to discovery chefchaouen deep , stay in calm place ,and to be well received. I think that the best place to go.

I stayed two nights, I think I would like to stay much longer ahaha.

Ahmed was the most sensational and effusive host I have ever met. He welcomed and treated us like we were family. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He went way beyond expectations in every way. His colleague named Sia was as equally helpful. Both of them spoke excellent English, which made it easy to communicate. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and only a short walk to the Medina. Highly recommended. Six stars.

An enthusiastic welcome by Ahmed, I could see he was very helpful showing the other guests where to visit. I had already planned everything so I didn’t need any help. Nice clean room, with fridge, AC/heater unit and a small balcony. It was a 5 minutes walk to the CTM and taxi station, and about 10 minutes walk into town. Breakfast was good, they serve it to you on the terrace. Baguette, Moroccan breads with Jams, Honey, Butter, yogurt, fried egg, coffee and juice.

The only issue was the smell coming from bathroom so I had to keep the door closed.

Ahmed was the most gracious, hospitable host-ever! We were a group of 9 and he did all he could to make everyone have the best time! My group LOVED him! He even had a birthday present for one of the guests. rooftop is awesome. 10 min walk to the old city. We had to leave super early the last day and I asked him if there was any way to get a quick to-go breakfast for the group. The night before, he had a beautiful box of pastries sent to each guest with a yogurt (fridges in the room). The hotel is lovely, clean and a good value. But so much more then that is that you have your friend Ahmed there ready to help with anything. We even gave bags of laundry that he had ready for us the next day. There is a taxi stand right there if you don’t want to walk the ten minutes.
