Great location - few minutes walk from all the shops/cafes in Thamel area. 20 minutes walk from Durbar Square. We didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Characterful hotel, not like modern hotels which all look the same. Cool rooftop terrace with great views. Spacious room with plenty of storage. Excellent wifi. Helpful, friendly staff.

Loud construction noise from the building next door on the first day. The quality/cost of the hotel food was not as good as dining outside in other places. Little variety for breakfast. Faulty key card so the room's electricity kept turning off after a few minutes - took 2 days to get a replacement key card. Window wouldn't close properly so it let external noise into the room (e.g. barking dogs, roosters). Soft mattress. Thin bathroom towels. Large cockroach in the room next to the bed on second morning - didn't enjoy squashing it and removing it.

Highlights of the Stay - Owner, Dolakh Thapa and family run this place well. It is a new property is in pretty good shape - The staff are friendly and helpful - Breakfast is adequate with decent spread even for vegetarians - Location is walking distance from Thamel (10 Mins), Asan Bazaar (10 Mins) and Durbar Square (15 Mins) - Mr Dolakh also helps arrange local sightseeing and excursions outside of Kathmandu - Rooms are fair sized (Not very large), Balcony is a small sit out and not a full balcony, House keeping is efficient - Kitchen is not 24 hours (expected in a boutique hotel) and food is pretty good - There were a few minor hiccups (again expected in a family run boutique hotel) but they were addressed quickly to satisfaction

You cannot beat the location , the facilities , the level of service , the food , the rooms , the price , the staff , the excursions and .....the views from the terrace or the balcony This beautifully presented immaculate and quiet hotel is very fairly priced at 50 USD with airport pick up from excellent courteous drivers .The hotel was in touch before my flight assuring all was in place and on arrival Dholak the manager made me so genuinely welcome with his team I felt immediately in the best hands in a safe location , so I checked in for a full week instead of three nights This super safe neighbourhood is the gateway to all attractions with shops bars and eateries nearby ..My bed and balcony have a direct view if the monkey temple high above the animated local landscape. Great breakfast and great value fresh cuisine to your balcony or the terrace at fantastic prices Open view professional chefs and Meena overseeing the spotless restaurant makes the catering a real pleasure.Room service is professional , courteous and super helpful Bathrooms are spotless and rooms made over every day but wonderful house staff Dholak will set out all the best trips he offers at lower prices than the agencies on the high street with clean cars , courteous drivers and easy itineraries for trekking , mountain flights or out of town trips .A true gentleman with no fuss this is a very honest and straightforward one stop shop. We found the breakfast enjoyable. The location in a quiet alley just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, was perfect Beds were really comfortable and the room was more spacious than we had expected.

Found it strange that the fridge power supply went off when the room key was removed from the power panel.???The fridge would defrost every time we left the room. We solved the problem by requesting a second key which remained in the power panel whenever we left the room. Leaking shower seals meant the bathroom floor was wet after every shower.

The hotel is a modern 7 storey structure with views over the north and west of the city. Built in a traditional style, it is a family run business located on a quiet lane west of the busy Thamel tourist area. We spent a week there, with no particular itinerary, just walking, browsing and eating at backstreet nepalese, indian and chinese restaurants (which were all good, the chinese in particular providing a wide choice of regional foods from Tianjin, Shanghai and Lang Zhou). We found it a perfect place to use as a base for shopping in the nearby market streets and for walking out across the city to the Monkey temple, Kathmandu and Patan Durbars. The breakfast was really good with a choice of cooked and continental, massala chai, proper espresso-machine Americano coffee and eggs to order. The owners, Mina and Dolakh, are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and spacious, the roof terrace was a delight.

The room was beautiful and spacious with plenty of room for luggage, a large bathroom (with an enclosed shower!) and a very comfortable bed. The area was plenty quiet yet still an easy walk to everything we needed. The staff was fantastic - very professional and helpful without being overbearing. The terrace was wonderful for having a sunset drink, and big bonus points for the fitness center on the roof - exercising outside is nearly impossible around Kathmandu, and I really appreciated having a place to burn some energy. Great value for the price!

This Hotel, located in the heart of Kathmandu, is the perfect spot to spend a wonderful time in this amazing city. The hotel and the rooms are new with an historical and beautiful atmosphere, which i like a lot. From the roof terrace, you will have a breathtaking view over Kathmandu and the surrounding mountains. The friendly and professional Management, as well as the whole staff are always ready to help and the perfect contact to book amazing hiking trails in the Himalayan mountains. I can't wait to come back and visiting more of this stunning country.

If you’re a solo traveller this may be an ideal hotel for you. The staff will make you fill welcome and comfortable. The hotel helped me organise a day trip to Bhaktapur; pointed the walking directions to The Monkey Temple; introduced me to fellow guests and generally created a lovely ambience about the hotel. I met other like-minded guests at the hotel and often shared meals and travel tips with them in my 5 day stay. The hotel is located in a quiet back-road, important in Kathmandu if you want a peaceful sleep, yet close to Assan Market and Durbar Square and has spectacular views across the city. This is a boutique hotel, rather than an international chain, so you’re be helping the local economy by staying here. If you can, and have a little spare space in your suitcase, consider bringing some stationery for the childrens’s schools here, so needed.

The Booking.com website stated that there was a free hotel taxi transfer from the airport, however not so in my case. Raised this with Booking.com who merely filed it!

The service of the staff was highly professional, the rooms very clean and spacious and excellent views from the balcony and roof terrace! I couldn't fault anything about the hotel!

Not necessarily a reflection of the hotel, but we opted for the room that included free airport pickup. If you go for this be aware of scammers at the airport. Our name card was passed between a few different people, one of whom demanded a tip of 20 USD before we set off, only for moving our bags 5 metres to the car on a trolley! Typical price of taxi between the airport and Thamel is less than 1000 NPR.
