We were staying with my son 10y.o one week. We enjoyed our stay very much. It feels like you came not to the hotel, but to home. Cozy atmosphere, so friendly and caring staff, always here for any requests or questions we might have. Room is cozy, everything is clean, room service is perfect. Anytime can go to eat delicious food they make in the restaurant on the terrace with nice view. I don't know what we could wanted more then this. My son had birthday and all staff and manager Dev made surprise for him, delicious cake and happy birthday song. It was so touching. Everyone who works in this hotel, from cleaning room ladies, staff in the restaurant to receptionist and manager, absolutely kind and beautiful souls. We highly recommend this place to stay in Kathmandu if you would like to feel you like a home and under good care. Anna and Misha

Encountered multiple problems with hotels throughout Kathmandu (cockroaches, power outage, no water) when we got frustrated and switched to this hotel. Nivas boutique home has been exceptional in every aspect. It’s the cleanest hotel I’ve had in Kathmandu with the most warm and welcoming people. The customer service is top notch, the rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are nicely built and clean as well. Throughout my stay in Kathmandu this has been the best hotel I’ve encountered. I liked it so much that we booked it again when we came back to Kathmandu. There wasn’t a question, we knew we would chose this hotel as we had the best experience in it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any foreigners.

Everything! I’ve never experienced the level of hospitality like at Nivas Boutique Hotel. We arrived to Kathmandu from Pokhara after a long night bus trip and although it was 9AM when we got there (expecting to leave out backpacks until our room was ready), the owner let us check-in right away without any extra cost. The room itself was the cleanest and the most comfortable we’ve stayed at throughout our 3-week trip to Nepal and we loved the chill, relaxing neighbourhood which is just a couple of minutes walk from Thamel, but was not noisy or busy at all. The decor of the place is amazing too – you really feel like you teleported to some kind of an oasis as soon as you set your foot on the premises. Rooftop breakfast is a must too! Overall, an excellent place run by one of the most caring and professional owners we’ve ever met.

I love the friendly reception upon arriving from Dev & Rojina. Beautiful decor and very clean. The food was simple but delicious. And all the staff are friendly. Dev is great if you need suggestions and flights or buses. The beds are comfortable which I find very important. And they are a short taxi ride or walk to everything you need. Close to monkey temple & central square. I also love that it is on a quiet street. Beautiful view from the rooftop restaurant.

The rooms aren't very sound proof so make sure you have ear plugs if you go to bed early. But when everyone settles down for the night it is fine. I still highly recommend it.

This Boutique hotel is truly a lovely place to stay. The manager Dev and his team are friendly, welcoming and helpful, and a special mention goes to Suraj who runs the rooftop restaurant. So attentive and friendly, always ready to chat, help or explain. The hotel itself has a wonderful interior design and feels very cosy. I had the absolute privilege to stay in the suite on the third floor, which was the best room ever! It has lots of space, a very comfortable bed, a daybed/extra bed, plenty of cupboard space, a small kitchen with fridge and a good shower. The rooftop terrace and restaurant area is absolutely wonderful and peaceful and has a stunning view all around, to the Monkey temple, the city centre and the Himalayas. You can order off the menu and also ask for specific foods if needed, and all of it is freshly made. I especially liked the location of this hotel as it is situated in a residential area, is quiet, and gives you a feel for life in Kathmandu outside of the busy city centre and tourist area.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, stuff is so helpful and friendly. We received a lot information, support arranging further travels and even insights into the culture chatting with one of the stuff members. Our room was also very nice, super clean and with a balcony. Breakfast is a feast! Huge with a great variety (eggs, veggies, toast, fruit salad, pancakes, fresh juice) We also had dinner at the hotel during our stay and it was delicious! Very tasty Nepali dishes. Breakfast and dinner is served on the rooftop terrace which is beautiful and has a nice view eg to the monkey temple. It’s a 10-15 min walk to Thamel but it’s not as busy as in the heart of Thamel. We enjoyed it to escape from the hectic of the city here a little bit We will come back after our trekking tour!

A haven away from the mayhem. A few minutes walk to Thamel. Nivas Boutique Home is truly like returning home after a busy day. You will be welcomed by the fantastic, friendly and efficient Dev and his staff. He will attend to your every whim. His staff are all as attentive as he. The wifi is very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and excellent value for money. Breakfast is table service and superb on the rooftop restaurant with views to snow capped mountains. Nivas is a really special place. I came for three weeks to study at a nearby monastery and it was a perfect oasis of peace. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Kathmandu you don’t really expect it to be as beautiful as it is. After the hectic energy of the street you cross the threshold into a tranquil lobby filled with Hindu and Buddhist statues and a cool, peaceful vibe. The rooms are really gorgeous with nice A/C, lovely linen and fine burnished brass fixtures in the bathrooms. And I had my own kitchen area with a kettle and fridge. There’s a wonderful rooftop restaurant with views across to Swayambu and really delicious, fresh food. I can highly recommend the Paneer curry. But the best thing about Nivas is the staff. Manager Dev was so helpful sorting out all my questions - particularly about transport - and all the staff at the front desk and restaurant were incredibly warm and friendly. So many smiles. I really recommend Nivas. I specially if you’re a bit nervous about the hustle and bustle of this city. It’s a touch of a calm, restful luxury without breaking the bank!

Nivas Boutique Home is a truly magic place. Not only is the hotel stunning, peaceful and unique. Dev and the team did everything possible to make this stay really magical. It was my partners 30th birthday and Dev and the team put in so much effort to make it so special. Cake, balloons, a traditional blessing, drinks, fruit, banners, birthday hat. There really was nothing more they could have done to make it such a lovely birthday for him. I’m so grateful and it’s a memory we’ll both never forget. Thank you Dev and team.
